Reborn In The 90's: Saving My Siblings With A Fishing System
Chapter 563: Pursue The Matter
Han Jianyou was hurt by the words of his teacher, but in Teacher Xu’s eyes, he felt that Han Jianyou had a guilty conscience. The young teacher sighed and took a step forward to grab Han Jianyou’s wrist. He pulled him forward delicately and started speaking to him in a light-hearted tone, "Jianyou, there is nothing embarrassing about this matter. I know that you were scared because of your family conditions, and I understand that, given your father’s injuries, you wanted to make him feel better. But take it slow, alright? You cannot just do whatever you want."
"If you have cheated, then you do not need to be embarrassed. Just tell us the truth, and I will still look at you in the same way as before. As long as you are willing to learn, your grades will definitely improve in the future. You are a smart student and a very good kid. You should not do something like this."
The teacher had just joined the education field and was a little hot-blooded and had a strong sense of justice.
Originally, he was a little doubtful that Han Jianyou had cheated on the exams. After all, he could tell that Han Jianyou had never been a stupid student. It was just that the kid did not like learning, and that was the only reason his marks were at the bottom for so long. What was more, he had heard from the other teachers that Han Jianyou’s siblings were all talented students. His second sister, for one, had a very good English vocabulary.
Not many students were skilled when it came to the English language! Thus, Teacher Xu looked up at Han Jianyou’s genes and knew that there was a very good chance that this boy was just as skilled as his older siblings.
However, Yun Xirou came to him with a few students and told him that she and the others had seen Han Jianyou flip through the book during the exams, and he could not help but call Han Jianyou to question him about the supposed cheating.
He was only asking Han Jianyou because he was sceptical, but now he was sure that Han Jianyou had cheated!
Han Jianyou’s attitude had already proven everything. Although he had only taught Han Jianyou for one semester, he had gained some understanding of Han Jianyou’s personality. If he had not cheated, then he would be shouting and crying at the top of his lungs that he did not cheat instead of looking at his feet like this. He was a hot-blooded young man, and he would never let himself be wronged like this.
What Teacher Xu did not know was that Han Jianyou was a complicated person. Even though he was speaking in a loud voice and brandishing his claws as if he did not fear anything, he was actually a very delicate young boy. He was only seventeen this year —and he could be counted as the youngest student in his class who was going to take a college entrance exam this year. He turned seventeen just a few months ago! It could be said that his mind was still very immature.
And because he did not receive any affection from his mother, his personality had some severe flaws. Though boisterous at normal times, he was the kind of person who would turn silent if he was hurt. When he was young, whenever he cried, his mother would hit him and beat him severely. She would even threaten him not to tell his father; she told him that if he dared to tell his father the truth about what she did to him, then she would give him another good beating.
Thus, after getting beaten up, he started pulling away from everyone and started keeping things to himself.
So even if he was loud and boisterous, he was actually the kind of boy who would store everything when he was wounded emotionally.
Teacher Xu saw that the boy was not speaking and sighed. "Jianyou, if you have done it, then you can honestly tell me the truth. I promise that I will not lose my temper with you. At worst, we can simply cancel your participation in the mathematics competition. This could be counted as your punishment. No one will say anything to you, and we will not publicise this matter either." Teacher Xu thought that he was only speaking heart to heart with Han Jianyou, and it was making him feel better. But he had no idea that the more he spoke to Han Jianyou in such a manner, the more Han Jianyou felt that he was being looked down on by his teacher.
He liked Teacher Xu; he really did, but he never knew that this was what Teacher Xu felt about him!
Teacher Xu saw him standing silently and shook his head. "If you don’t speak, then I will have to call Yun Xirou and the other students who saw you cheat in the exams. I do not want to escalate this matter any further, Jianyou. As long as you admit the truth and tell me why you did it, I will bury this hatchet right here. As long as you can realise your mistake and promise that you will not do such a thing ever again in the future, I will keep things under control."
"I will also not tell this matter to your parents, so you do not need to worry about anything."
Han Jianyou, however, stayed quiet. He did not say a thing because, at that very moment, he could only think of the warmth of his sister. If his sister were with him, then she would definitely trust him. She would never say such a thing. She would tell him that she trusted him and that she knew that he would never cheat in his exams.
"I—"
"What do you want him to confess?"
A cold, razor-sharp voice cut through the air like freezing winter wind, instantly making everyone in the staff room shiver.
