Chapter 564: Call Yun Xirou

Han Ruochen stepped inside the staff room, her tailored jacket fluttering behind her as she walked past the windy corridor. Her pitch-black eyes were fixed on Teacher Xu, and her face was turning colder by the second. She came to the school because she received a notification saying that they needed to pay an extra fee for Han Jianyou’s participation in the mathematics study camp before the competition. However, she never thought that she would hear such a shocking piece of news.

When she came to the school, she was prepared to hear Han Jianyou happily telling her what kind of car he wanted to buy, but she never thought that she would actually hear the teacher say that Han Jianyou was accused of cheating!

She walked inside and took a look at Han Jianyou, and when she saw his expression, she suddenly felt a surge of inexplicable anger rise in her chest. She knew that the teacher did not have any bad intentions; if anything, he was only looking out for Han Jianyou, but how could he hurt the self-esteem of his student before he could even figure out the truth?

Han Jianyou had finally started to study and managed to work hard. She could not allow Han Jianyou to lose interest in studying just because one of the teachers was not willing to believe in him. This incident could cause a lot of trouble for Han Jianyou if he took it to heart.

Thinking of Han Jianyou’s sensitive personality, she quickly came to stop beside her brother. She reached out her hand and patted Han Jianyou on the back. "Jianyou, don’t be afraid. I am with you, and I trust you, and so do your elder brother, sister and dad. Even Beijiang trusts his older brother. If you have not cheated, then you should tell the truth to your teacher."

Only then did Han Jianyou raise his head and look at Han Ruochen with reddened eyes.

Han Ruochen’s heart instantly ached when she saw Han Jianyou’s sad expression. Han Jianyou had always been rough and silly. When had he ever shown an expression like this before? One could tell with just one glance that he was hurt by what the teacher said.

"Teacher Xu, my Jianyou does not know how to cheat, and he is not someone who would do such a sneaky move. He is actually very smart, and in fact he is smarter than all three of our siblings. It’s just that he never put his mind to learning before. However, he has been studying these past few months. The last time he was able to do well because he worked hard, and it was not just a coincidence because the papers were easy."

She stood in front of Han Jianyou like a shield while looking at Teacher Xu quite angrily.

"I heard that some students had questioned my brother’s abilities, and I would like to invite them to speak with these kids. Just because my brother was able to improve by leaps and bounds, they actually accused him of such a terrible thing! I cannot ignore this at all. My brother is a smart student, and the fault lies with those who are not capable of learning as fast as he can. But instead of working hard, this is where they are putting their minds at!"

Teacher Xu was surprised when he saw Han Ruochen, but then he thought about the competition notifications being sent out and knew that the family members of the students would come to the school.

He rubbed the space between his brows. Really, he was getting tired. He did not want to deal with this mess but he was forced to handle this matter because he was Han Jianyou’s homeroom teacher; now Han Jianyou’s sister was questioning him. What was he supposed to do about this matter?

He sucked in a breath and then said in a low voice, "Of course, I am not suspecting your brother for no reason. There is evidence that he had cheated. Some of the students in the class saw him flip through the book that he hid in his pants." It was such a mess; if they had a way to prove that Han Jianyou cheated, then he would not be put in this situation where he had to be questioned by Han Jianyou’s sister.

"If you can trust his classmate, then why can you not trust my brother? To put it bluntly, you do not trust my brother from the bottom of your heart. You said that my brother was caught cheating —then call the students who accused him. I want to get to the end of this matter." Han Ruochen was not going to let this matter slide. Teacher Xu might think that there was nothing wrong with a few students coming and making up lies about her brother. But it was a big issue for her.

When Teacher Xu heard that Han Ruochen wanted to actually interrogate Yun Xirou and the rest, he could not help but frown. "Miss Han, if you push this matter further—"

"I am not scared," said Han Ruochen coldly, arching a perfectly arched eyebrow. She said to Teacher Xu, "I trust my brother, and I know that he would never do something so cheap. He is smart enough to clear even the mock papers of the college entrance exams with flying colours. Compared to those papers, high school papers are a joke to him."

"Teacher Xu, you do not have to consider my brother’s reputation at all; if anything, if you truly care about him, then you should call Miss Yun and her friends to clear up this matter."

"Xirou, are you sure that we will not be caught?" Her deskmate could not help but ask worriedly; she had been as nervous as a quail ever since she lied in the staff room. She had never seen Han Jianyou cheat, but she did so because Yun Xirou asked her to.

"Shut up! Do you want to let everyone hear what you have done?"
