Chapter 769: Chapter 769: I’ll Give You Two Choices
About a minute later, he had a cold syringe ready.
Vivian Yates’s eyes flew open. Seeing the sharp needle approach, she couldn’t help but shout, "What are you doing? What do you think you’re doing? We live in a society governed by laws! It’s illegal to inject someone with a substance against their will! I’m warning you, don’t you dare!"
The doctor, who had been expressionless, actually laughed at her words.
Leona Grant also watched her with amusement, a casual, mocking smile playing on his lips.
The doctor slowly approached with the syringe, and an uncontrollable chill spread through Vivian Yates.
She had already resigned herself to death, but watching the needle inch closer, she lost all control of her emotions.
Vivian Yates’s body recoiled instinctively, but she was tied down. ’Where can I possibly go?’
"Don’t come any closer! Stay away!"
But her struggles were futile. The sharp needle pierced her arm, and Vivian Yates’s entire face contorted in pain.
The moment the drug entered her system, she could feel the liquid spreading through her veins, bit by bit. She wanted to scream from the pain, but not a single sound would come out.
After the injection, the doctor coldly tossed her onto the floor.
Vivian Yates’s body convulsed in pain.
The doctor glanced at Vivian Yates, then at Leona Grant, and finally said with some hesitation, "Young Master Grant, she’s... pregnant."
Hearing this, Vivian Yates felt a rare thrill of pleasure.
Lying on the floor, she burst into maniacal laughter. "Hahahahahaha! You never saw this coming, did you, Leona Grant? What’s the point of killing me now? You’re tainted! You’re already tainted! Even if I die, you can’t erase the fact that you cheated on Annabelle Linton and slept with another woman."
"Hahahaha! This feels amazing! So amazing! Doesn’t that bitch Annabelle Linton just throw her weight around because she knows you love her? Heheheh... Well, look at her now. The husband she’s so proud of doesn’t belong entirely to her!"
Leona Grant looked at the state she was in. From start to finish, his expression had been a mixture of coldness and mockery, and it was no different now.
Normally, he wouldn’t deign to explain himself to anyone but Annabelle Linton, but now, it seemed necessary.
"Is that so?"
A faint smile touched Leona Grant’s lips as he looked down at Vivian Yates. "And what if the truth disappoints you?"
Vivian Yates’s head snapped up to look at him.
Leona Grant gave Chase a cool glance. As if he’d been waiting for the signal, Chase scattered a stack of photos over her face.
Fighting through the immense pain, Vivian Yates grabbed a photo. When she saw the image of herself, she collapsed back onto the floor, all hope draining from her. Her face was ashen.
Leona Grant crouched down in front of her and said impassively, "Vivian Yates, you couldn’t have stirred up this much trouble on your own. The drug we just injected is a virus—you could call it a form of bone cancer. Before it spreads through your entire body, I’m giving you two choices. First, hand over the antidote. Second, give up the person who’s backing you. Do one of those, and I’ll let you go. You only get one chance. Think it over."
After speaking, Leona Grant returned to his chair. He watched her with a cold gaze, as if he didn’t particularly care what her choice would be—he was simply a detached observer, waiting to see what she would decide.
