Remarriage Failed Again Today
Chapter 775: Let’s Get Married Again
‘I must have been in the emergency room yesterday. Mia must have answered my phone.’
‘Thank goodness. If Mr. Holland had been the one to answer, that man would have probably stormed over here by now.’
Annabelle Linton bit her lip, gathering her words to try and sound less weak.
She smiled faintly and said in a calm voice, “I’ve been a bit busy the last two days. I went to bed early yesterday and slept straight through till now.”
For some reason, Leona Grant had felt deeply uneasy for the past two days. He couldn’t shake the feeling, as if something terrible was about to happen.
Whenever he had this feeling, his first thought was of Annabelle Linton.
Hearing her say that, he finally relaxed. He complained, “It seems you don’t miss me at all. I’ve been thinking about you so much I can’t sleep, and here you are, sleeping in till now.”
Annabelle Linton chuckled and replied good-naturedly, “How could I not miss you? I even dreamed about you last night.”
“You dreamed about me?”
Leona Grant’s interest was piqued. He asked teasingly, “What did you dream about? Was it about me driving you wild with pleasure?”
Annabelle Linton couldn’t help but laugh. ‘Can this man ever be serious?’
In truth, it wasn’t that she had never dreamed of him before, but she hadn’t last night.
She had dreamed they were getting married again. Leona Grant was in a suit, so breathtakingly handsome that a single glance was enough to make one fall completely for him.
When the priest asked if he was willing to marry her, he answered with a firm “I do” without a moment’s hesitation.
He had even placed the ring on her finger—properly placed it—with no impatience or disgust.
Then they had kissed, smiling happily amidst everyone’s blessings.
Thinking of this, Annabelle Linton realized she had always longed for a perfect wedding. Even though she and Leona Grant had reconciled and were happy now, their first wedding remained a regret in her heart.
Though she was reluctant to admit it, even now, with death looming over them, Annabelle Linton still wanted a wedding.
A dream-like wedding, one that would make her smile just thinking about it.
Annabelle Linton licked her lips, her face full of yearning. She said with a smile, “I dreamed we got married again. Ashley was the bridesmaid, and so many people came to the wedding to give us their blessings. The venue design was especially beautiful, too.
“You know, there was this one time in college… I presented my unpublished research to an audience of tens of thousands from my university and others. Afterward, the whole crowd applauded and congratulated me. Besides that one time, I’ve never had so many people be a part of my happiest moment.”
Leona Grant listened quietly, and as he did, he thought back to their first wedding and was suddenly overcome with guilt.
He pressed his lips together and said in a heavy voice, “Annabelle Linton, I’m sorry…”
Hearing Leona Grant suddenly apologize, Annabelle Linton was stunned for a moment, not understanding.
After a few seconds, it dawned on her. She gave a wry smile. “Why bring up the past? You just happened to ask, so I mentioned it in passing, that’s all.”
Leona Grant remained silent.
After a while, he said, “Annabelle Linton, let’s get married again. Let’s have another wedding, okay?”
Annabelle Linton smiled. Without refusing, she said softly, “Let’s wait two months. In two months, we’ll get married again. We’ll have a new wedding.”
‘In two months, everything will probably be settled.’
