Chapter 123: Chapter 123: Want to Learn? I’ll Teach You

"Without impeding research on the Spirit Platform Realm Enhancing Potion, put all your efforts into producing Enhancing Potions for the Foundation Establishment Realm.

Let’s set a tentative goal... say, two hundred thousand vials.

I’ll take some with me for now. When I get back, I’ll have my Uncle commit the full resources of the Jing Country to aid your research and production."

Having made up his mind and inwardly praised his own foresight, Su Han announced his decision.

"Yes! I will pack some of the potions for you at once."

Su Han waved his hand. "There’s no rush. You two are father and son and haven’t seen each other in a long time. I won’t disturb you while you catch up."

With that, Su Han glanced at Su Yi. The two of them left the house and began to wander through the idyllic, secluded valley.

"Dad."

"Ah, Xiao’Er."

Wu raised his hand and stroked Su Xiao’Er’s head, a flicker of paternal love in his eyes. "Do you blame me?"

Su Xiao’Er shook his head. "Dad, how can you say that? You’re the one who gave me this life.

If you hadn’t taken me in back then, I would’ve been fed to the wolves in the forest long ago."

Wu patted his shoulder. "Stick close to the Young Master. In the future, you’ll be grateful you did!

Trust me. I would never harm you."

Su Xiao’Er nodded and looked up at Wu. "For as long as I live, I will never betray the Crown Prince’s trust or fail to live up to your expectations."

Wu nodded, a flicker of complex emotion in his eyes...

"Alas, if only Qi could understand..."

A cold glint flashed in Su Xiao’Er’s eyes. "Those not of our kind are sure to have a different heart."

"Those not of our kind are sure to have a different heart."

Wu mused for a moment, then nodded. "Indeed. The Old Master showed mercy and spared his life back then, but to think he would still end up harboring treacherous thoughts."

Su Xiao’Er shook his head. "Dad, did you know the Ancestor arranged a marriage for the Crown Prince years ago?

His Majesty suddenly informed the Crown Prince today that he has a fiancée, and the Crown Prince has been troubled by it ever since."

Wu thought for a moment and nodded. "That must be a descendant of the Wang Family. The Old Master did indeed leave behind such a marriage contract."

As he spoke, Wu gave Su Xiao’Er a surprised look. "The Young Master... he doesn’t approve of this marriage?

Back in the day, the Old Master beat the Wang Family’s Patriarch and all their elders to a pulp and still couldn’t make them yield. In the end, he had to stand on their ancestral grave with an iron shovel to force them to sign the contract.

The Young Master... is unsatisfied with Miss Wang?"

Su Xiao’Er: "..."

Blinking, Su Xiao’Er looked at his dad, his eyes filled with confusion.

’Why is what I’m hearing from my dad so different from what I understood?’

’From what I heard, they were the ones forcing the marriage with the contract, and my Crown Prince was the one unwilling to submit and wanted to break the engagement.’

’So how, in my dad’s version, did it turn into the Ancestor strong-arming their family and forcing the elders to sign the contract?’

’Is there... some kind of misunderstanding here?’

’Could it be... the Ancestor left behind two marriage contracts for the Crown Prince?’

’One that the Ancestor forced them to sign, and another that they forced the Ancestor to sign?’

’Is this what they call karma? What goes around comes around. It’s not that you won’t get your due, it’s just a matter of time?’

As these thoughts raced through his mind, Su Xiao’Er couldn’t help but ask, "Dad, this Wang Family you mentioned...?"

Wu frowned. "The Renwang Family! It’s not like the Old Master could have left behind any other marriage contracts, could he?"

Su Xiao’Er: "..."

He didn’t know the bride-to-be’s identity either, only that the Crown Prince seemed to dislike the marriage.

"The Renwang Family... are they a big deal?

The Crown Prince doesn’t seem to approve of this marriage. If he insists on breaking the engagement..."

’A master can be willful, but a servant must always think ahead for him.’

Wu considered it. "The Renwang Family is decent enough. For the sake of this marriage, the Old Master single-handedly strung up their Patriarch and their old ancestors in a tree and gave them a beating. Anyway, not a single one of them could put up a fight.

As for now... the Old Master isn’t around anymore...

When you get back, go find your uncle. Tell him to make preparations. If the Young Master insists on breaking the engagement, then let’s just break it."

Su Xiao’Er nodded, and the two discussed the matter for a while longer.

A short while later, once they were done with serious matters, Su Xiao’Er looked at his dad with a sly grin.

"Daaad, we don’t get to see each other often. Aren’t you going to...?"

Wu shot him an exasperated glare. "You... you’re biting off more than you can chew."

Su Xiao’Er gave a placating smile. "But that’s better than having nothing to chew at all, right?"

"First, let me see how your cultivation has progressed."

"Alright! Dad, heads up! Eat lime!"

"You little brat, you dare sneak attack me!"

In the spacious room, two figures flew about, unleashing an endless stream of dirty tricks and cheap shots.

The room was filled with the heartwarming sight of a loving father and his filial son.

...

"The power of nature... it’s truly a wondrous creation!"

After a walk around the valley, Su Han lay back on a patch of grass. With a blade of grass dangling from his lips, he gazed at the blue sky and white clouds and spoke leisurely.

Sitting beside him, Su Yi heard him, glanced over, and gave a noncommittal smile.

Su Han sat up abruptly. After spending the past few days with her, he’d found that she seemed very easygoing and bore him no ill will.

Scooting closer, Su Han asked with a smile, "You don’t agree with what I said, do you?"

Su Yi looked at him, nodded, and then shook her head.

Su Han was baffled. "What does that mean?"

Su Yi smiled and pointed upward.

Su Han looked up. There was nothing but blue sky and white clouds, clear as if freshly washed.

"You mean... you’re not allowed to speak?"

Su Yi shook her head.

Su Han thought for a moment. "Are you saying... it’s not the power of nature, but the Power of Heaven and Earth?"

Su Yi considered this, then nodded, and then shook her head again.

Su Han couldn’t figure it out. After a moment’s thought, he shook his head with a smile and lay back down beside Su Yi.

’If there ever comes a day when I’ve burned down every tree in the world, I’ll find a beautiful, secluded place to grow flowers and plant new ones.’

’It’s a shame I don’t know if, once my power reaches a certain point, I’ll be able to command all things and control the seasons, just like the Power of Heaven and Earth.’

Su Yi tilted her head to look at him and blinked, as if to ask... ’Why would you want to burn down all the trees in the world?’

Tilting her head again, Su Yi reached out a slender index finger and cautiously poked him.

Su Han turned to look at her, and saw Su Yi pointing to a nearby tree.

Su Han followed her finger with his gaze. As Su Yi lightly pointed, the large, lush tree seemed to instantly pass through summer and arrive in deep autumn.

Its leaves turned yellow and fell at a speed visible to the naked eye.

With another point of her finger, the remaining leaves fell away, dead branches snapped, and new buds sprouted.

Driven by a mysterious force, the new buds rapidly sprouted fresh branches, and in the blink of an eye, the tree was once again lush and verdant.

In a single instant, it was as if an entire cycle of seasons had passed.

Su Han blinked, then subconsciously rubbed his eyes.

He looked at the great tree, then back at Su Yi.

Su Yi winked at him, the corners of her mouth turning up in an expressive smile.

In that moment, Su Han felt as though he understood her smile.

’Like this?’

Su Han was stunned. "This... is also a power that can be mastered through cultivation?"

Su Yi tilted her head in thought, then nodded.

She pointed to herself, then to Su Han—’Want to learn? I can teach you!’
