Chapter 42: Talent And Ranks

Pooland was interested in why the commander felt sad about it. "Commander, is there something wrong with dual talent owners?"

"Nothing is wrong with them. Instead, they are perfect and a whole being to speak of." Aldric spoke with a hint of awe. "Every dual talent owner has shaken this world and made a mark in the minds of everyone. Without them, we wouldn’t have pushed this far."

Leon’s eyes widened in shock, hearing Aldric’s words. He never thought he would be that amazing.

’But without my system, how can I become like those historical figures? [Elemental Mastery] is very useful; I am sure I can reach the top if I only had this talent. However, what can [Immeasurable Charm] do except for being a chick magnet? This talent is somewhat okay to me. If it could make the MILFs fall over heel for me, then I can praise, but this thing pulls immature girls.’ Leon went on a bit of an inner monologue.

He first felt the [Immeasurable Charm] would be awesome to get himself MILFs easily, but this wasn’t the case. Instead, it was attracting the ones he hated the most. All the MILFs he hooked up till now was his luck and his own effort. Well, at least this talent made not everyone show him unfavorability easily.

"Commander, is there currently anyone with dual talent in our race?" Pooland also showed admiration for those predecessors who helped humanity.

"Yes, there are. Currently there are three people with dual talents." Aldric nodded his head, dropping a bombshell on them.

"Three!?" Right now, Aldric mentioned dual talents were too rare to appear, but now there are three people with it already. They simultaneously asked. "Who are they?"

"Truth be told, I only found out about this at a high-class party. So my information is already limited. However, I did find about one." Aldric’s face turned serious. "The one with the dual talent is our current emperor; as for the rest, they are unknown."

Leon and Pooland were speechless, but they took in this information easily. For being an emperor, it was expected for him to be exceptional.

"It might appear that a blessing has appeared in our human race. But this is a sign of a bad omen. Indicating a grave calamity waiting for us." Aldric suddenly warned them.

They were also hit with a realization after Aldric’s reminder.

’That’s right. Why would three people with dual talents appear simultaneously? And that was not counting me in. This is a fantasy world. So any weird phenomenon has its reason.’ Leon thought silently in his heart as an unyielding desire to grow stronger flourished in his heart. He couldn’t let anyone or anything take away from his loved ones.

"Okay, now let’s get to the Ranks. We had enough to talk about talent." Aldric then brought out the topic that they originally wanted to know.

"I told you every person can control magical energy, but that doesn’t mean everyone is capable of doing so. Only those who can learn to control magical energy can grow stronger and rank up. Additionally, this has to be discovered by yourself; no one can help you. This should be known by you two, right?" Aldric asked, as this was elementary knowledge, and without it they shouldn’t be able to break through to Apprentice-Rank and Adept-Rank.

Pool nodded his head as this was mandatory knowledge to know about, and Leon did performative nodding as if he too knew about this, which he did! If Aldric didn’t say it, he might have never known and reached the top unknowingly.

"Good. The Mortal-Rank should be known to everyone, as almost everyone is at that rank. So I won’t talk much about it."

"First comes Apprentice-Rank. Only someone who can create a spell with the magic they had the most affinity with can break through. At Apprentice-Rank you can conjure up a small amount of magic for your spell. Your body is not yet ready to release magic unconditionally."

"Then comes Adept-Rank, where the majority get stuck in. If you just need to create three spells with considerable quality to break through this realm. Adept-Rank can have you release magic and manifest your magic properly, just like Leon with his shadow claws."

"After Adept-Rank is Expert-Rank. You need to create five more spells and hone your spells to reach this rank. This rank is considered the watershed, as only those who reach it can have their voice be heard anywhere. They are highly trained combatants that are wanted by everyone. Just as the name says, they are experts at using their spells. You can’t be careless against them."

Speaking of Expert-Rank, Aldric warned with a cautious tone, showcasing how much danger this rank could cause to them.

Leon and Pooland engraved it in their heart, telling themselves to retreat at first glance.

"Lastly, the Master-Rank, the end point of today’s talk. The ranks beyond this are not something you are worthy to know."

Aldric brought back his smile and continued. "Master-Rank can only be broken through after you have created a total of 10 spells in your arsenal and, most importantly, refined a spell to Destroyer-Level. It is a category made to classify a spell that could raze a medium-sized building to the ground. Also, at this rank, you can use magic to fly in the air, making traveling easier."

"In the end, this is just a simple breakdown. There are also increases in physical power, magic volume quality, etc., that will increase along with the ranks. Everyone is different on this, as it is related to the quality of your spells and the main element you use." Aldric finished and waited patiently for the duo to take it all in.

’So this is how the power system works in this world.’ Leon exclaimed inwardly after understanding it from Aldric. Aldric might not have explained everything to him, but as an avid reader of novels, he understood how the power system works here.

’It is all related to the spell to create. In short, honing and harnessing magic continuously in your body, training to the point of breakthroughs.’
