Chapter 1924: Confused Battle (II)

Chapter 1924: Confused Battle (II)

“Long Zhan is very strong, that’s for one,” explained Supreme Zhang when he sensed how disgruntled the Light master was. “The second is that Dragon major world itself is formidable. Since Long Zhan has fashioned his own dao domain, who’s inherited his world?

“The heir might have set foot into eighth rank as well! If that’s the case, then the dragons will have four eighth ranks. These outer region people heading over will first be depleted by Thunder Region before meeting the chaos ranks.

“They won’t be at peak strength. Long Zhan will be able to handle a few by himself...”

“Then let them fight each other! Both sides might end up too injured to do anything!” the Light master spat out. “If it really comes down to it, we can ambush them from the rear! It’ll be our chance if both sides are out for the count. And if that can’t be done, the Human King is in trouble. Why don’t we go save the Human King first?”

Attacking Arctic Frost was his last preference as of the moment. That would only make life easy for Long Zhan. That was the last thing he ever wished to do.

The Human King is being mobbed by enemies! Don’t you guys care about that? You’ve only got your sights set on Arctic Frost.

In fact, the Light master was beginning to suspect the supreme. Are you trying to get the Human King killed so you can be the king of New Martial?

A multitude of thoughts ran through the supreme’s mind. He really did think that the outer region contingent would just end up being draconic fodder if they entered the four regions. That would strengthen the chaos beasts instead.

Although the Light master didn’t think it was possible, Supreme Zhang was a firm proponent of his viewpoint.

In that case, it was better to have those people stay out here and curtail Long Zhan’s expansion. The supreme was considering the situation from a big picture perspective. He wasn’t considering whether or not his actions would benefit Long Zhan at present.

At the same time, the Light master was one of the people that New Martial wished to bring over to their side. There was a natural advantage in doing so. It was clear to see that the other didn’t think much of such a long-term plan and was unwilling to indirectly help Long Zhan through attacking Arctic Frost.

Supreme Zhang’s mind flitted rapidly through all of his options. Although he felt that letting Arctic Frost’s group continue to the four regions might end up benefiting Long Zhan instead, he still decided, “Then we go to Reincarnation!

“Fang Ping won’t die that easily,” he chuckled. “He’s well versed in battle and is hardly an easy target. It must have something to do with Reincarnation if he’s being hunted down. Since Brother Light is not willing to see Long Zhan receive any help, then let us go to... Reincarnation!”

The Light master immediately felt better. His opinion was valued!

Who says New Martial is brash and arrogant? They’re alright! It took just one expression of unhappiness from me for them to give way!

“Rescuing the Human King is certainly more important than Arctic Frost,” he immediately said with satisfaction. “We can surround Reincarnation and force its world master to return. Even if we do not take Reincarnation, we will help the Human King escape!”

That was good! He had no opinion about this course of action.

Supreme Zhang took another look at Arctic Frost and sighed. But if Long Zhan really did end up killing these people, then perhaps he could be one step ahead and take these eighth rank worlds for himself!

That was acceptable as well.

The supreme quickly looked at Big Cat—that one had been itching to leap into action long ago. It quickly steered Yin and Yang major world in the direction of Reincarnation.

......

At the same time, within the void.

Blade light flashed, the chaos trembled, and booms sounded in the void!

The Human King coughed up blood and cursed to himself. Assholes.

These guys were very tough to shake off. Not only was the Reincarnation master strong, but so was the unknown eighth rank a force to be reckoned with. That was the key. The other three eighth ranks had died once, so they were weaklings now. He didn’t fear them!

But with the Reincarnation master dogging his footsteps and the other fresh eighth rank possessing a formidable body, the Human King was starting to find himself in hot waters after having his escape route cut off again and again.

He was having trouble getting away!

He could only hope that Big Cat and the others would send help. Either they went off to target Reincarnation major world or caused another battle elsewhere if there really was no other recourse.

He might truly meet his end here today if they didn’t kick up a fuss elsewhere.

As much as he was cursing to himself internally, he also kept up a litany of insults at his enemies.

“Have you sold yourself to someone, Reincarnation?” he constantly jeered despite the danger he was in. “You’ve revived three eighth ranks and have another one monitoring you. Who did you sell yourself into slavery for?

“Chaos Sky? Spring Autumn? Or Five Elements?

“Definitely not Five Elements, they only have five eighth ranks and this guy is plainly not one of them. He actually seems to be a chaos beast. So you’re a boy toy for Spring Autumn now?” The Human King roared with laughter. “Or have you offered your butt to Chaos Sky?”

Reincarnation remained calm from his position in the rear. He simply set up more dao domains without further ado to surround their quarry, not giving the Human King a chance to escape.

As for the insults... none of them mattered once their prey was dead.

Besides, as unpleasant to the ear the words were, they were the truth. While reality wasn’t as tawdry as the Human King made it out to be, throwing his lot in with Chaos Sky meant that Reincarnation needed to bow his head and call someone else his lord. He had no personal dignity to speak of anymore, so what did he care about any of this?

“Fang Ping, how dare you run your mouth when you’re about to die??” The livid Drifting Life ground his teeth. His world master had had to pledge fealty to Chaos Sky because the Human King had killed him. But they’d surrounded the cocky bastard today. He would have his vengeance!

The power of life and death manifested. All of the wronged souls had been expended last time, not to mention that they weren’t very effective against powerhouses like the Human King. Therefore, Drifting Life didn’t repeat his tried and true measures. He combined his power of life and death with the other two eighth ranks and extracted all of the vitality from nearby surroundings.

Death qi filled the area and turned it into hell!

The Human King paled, but remained smiling brilliantly. He wouldn’t reveal any tragic emotions even if he fell in battle. There was no need to let the enemies have a good time at his expense.

“You want to kill your granddaddy??” he roared with laughter. “You’re a little too wet behind the ears for that! Did you like it when I cut you into two with one blow? Wanna do it again, eh?”

“All you’ve got left now is insults!” Drifting Life raged. Behind him. Reincarnation continued to remain quiet and set up more dao domains. He would firmly trap the Human King where he was today!

The other eighth rank from Chaos Sky major world also worked without a word. He was a chaos beast, and a formidable one at that. His body was so daunting that it was the single greatest obstacle preventing the Human King’s escape.

If it wasn’t for the chaos beast, the Human King might have been able to kill another eighth rank and create an opening with the lessened pressure.

But with this one here, one blow could only harm the chaos beast. There was almost no hope of killing that opponent.

The Human King cursed to himself again. Old Zhang and the rest probably thought that he could hold out against the enemies. They hadn’t fathomed either that the enemy would send so many eighth ranks at him.

There were five on his tail! And they were hemming him in at every step.

He could erupt with great force, but that chaos beast with the stalwart body was the perfect counter to his eruptions.

It was also very hard for him to recover after each blow. His attacks only served to weaken himself.

Boom!

A massive collision ensued when the chaos beast punched out. It cracked the Human King’s blade!

The Human King’s blade was a formidable weapon constructed many years ago. It didn’t fracture even when killing eighth ranks. But today, there was a small crack snaking through it!

The Human King flushed beet red and sniffed disdainfully. He was no longer in the mood to trade insults. His eyes darted around, looking for an opening that was nowhere to be found. The Reincarnation master was much more calm and collected than last time. He stayed on the outskirts in this battle and set up dao domains to suppress the Human King.

With such a premier powerhouse setting up formations on the perimeter, it completely erased all chances for the Human King to escape.

......

There was an enormous disturbance as the two sides fought. However, most of it was negated by the Reincarnation master’s setup. One had to be in close proximity to detect any of it. This was why Li Hao and the rest only received word of the fight through the alliance of mid worlds.

The young man had come with the intention of watching the show, but screeched to a halt with wide eyes when he sensed some of what was taking place.

“W-what...” Li Hao frowned. The three eighth ranks had come back to life!

Indeed, he’d discovered that the three Reincarnation eighth ranks were alive again as he neared the battlefield. Not only that, but there were more than the four Reincarnation eighth ranks in the fray. There was another one!

Was that a... chaos beast?

Li Hao’s frown deepened.

In the distance, the Reincarnation master also looked back with furrowed brows. What was this now? What were Arctic Frost and the rest doing?

Arctic Frost and the other worlds had joined hands to kill Thunder World powerhouses. But why... did he sense some of the Silver Moon king’s presence nearby?

Despite his suspicions, the Reincarnation kept quiet and continued executing his plan. It wouldn’t change a thing if the Silver Moon king was here!

He’d made preparations, but expected New Martial to come. So it was the Silver Moon group instead!

......

“Damn!” Fog Mountain sucked in a sharp breath. He could see the surrounded Human King in the distance as well. The man was covered in blood and looked... very worse for the wear!

The Human King was such a domineering powerhouse that he’d made many enemies in the four regions. However, he’d never appeared in such a bedraggled state. Who would’ve thought that they’d witness the Human King fighting for his life today?

“Five eighth ranks?? How have they come back to life?” gaped Fog Mountain.

“The dao of life and death!” Li Hao explained with a glance.

So long as they were willing to pay the price, a powerhouse like Reincarnation had a chance of resurrecting dead eighth ranks. It was easier when they were from his world. The young man himself had done so before for his people, so naturally the Reincarnation could do so as well.

He just hadn’t thought that the Reincarnation master would have enough resources to revive three eighth ranks. How much of a price did he have to pay for that?

No wonder the Human King was trapped here!
