Chapter 248: Chapter 248: Like Pouring Beans

Hearing Ling Qianjun say this, the originally noisy villagers gradually quieted down. The urgency on their faces slowly faded, and they were no longer in such a rush to pick out soaps. Instead, everyone found an empty spot nearby. Some sat directly on the ground while others brought over small stools. They settled in for a good chat, ready to take their time choosing their favorite soaps later.

At this moment, every villager present harbored the thought of buying a bar of soap to take home. They were especially tempted after seeing the soap Ling Qianjun and Xu Panqing had just whipped up, which emitted a captivating floral scent. Just imagining it was wonderful. If they came back from beachcombing covered in a foul fishy stench, taking a bath with this fragrant soap would surely wash that pungent odor away without a trace. That way, their families would no longer avoid them like the plague, and even their neighbors wouldn’t have to hold their noses as they walked past.

These villagers had truly suffered a lot in their daily lives! Take the elderly folks in the village, for example. Every morning, they would wake up early and head to the seaside to gather fresh seafood for their children to enjoy. However, when they returned home full of joy, wanting to hug their adorable grandchildren, they were often ruthlessly rejected by the kids because of the heavy fishy smell clinging to them. The little ones would wrinkle their noses, desperately dodging their grandparents’ outstretched arms, unwilling to even give them a kiss! It was a truly heartbreaking scene.

The other villagers had similar experiences. Some would return home after a hard day’s work, wanting to get intimate with their spouses, only to be kept at arm’s length because their partners couldn’t stand the smell of fish. Worse yet, some people would start gagging the moment they caught a whiff of the odor. Faced with such situations, the villagers could only sigh to themselves in utter helplessness. So now, upon learning about a miraculous soap capable of removing the fishy smell, how could they not be moved?

Seeing them all sit down, a faint, imperceptible smile touched the corners of Ling Qianjun’s lips. This had been their goal all along.

Xu Panqing caught his eye, exchanging a knowing glance with him. Then, she turned to the villagers in front of her, chatting with a warm smile. "Everyone knows we’re new here. You can just call me Aunt Qing from now on, and this is my son, Qianjun. You can just call him Brother Jun. We were wondering, how should we address all of you? We’re so sorry; since we just arrived, we aren’t very familiar with the people in the village yet. Please forgive our ignorance."

Looking at Xu Panqing’s gentle smile and listening to her warm voice, the villagers couldn’t help but smile in return. They hurriedly waved their hands, eagerly chiming in.

"It’s no problem at all! Of course you wouldn’t know anyone when you’ve just arrived. I’m very familiar with the people in the village, so I’ll introduce you," an elderly woman said with great enthusiasm.

An older woman next to her nodded and added, "If you don’t know anyone, we can get acquainted right now! I know everything there is to know about the people in this village. If you have any questions, just ask me."

Perhaps these two had set a "good example," because many other villagers began scrambling to introduce the locals and explain the layout of the village’s houses, like who lived at the edge of the village and who lived next to whom.

After that, Ling Qianjun and Xu Panqing didn’t even need to ask. The group of villagers had actually gotten excited and began spilling all the local gossip like a floodgate opening, enthusiastically covering everything from minor squabbles to major scandals and petty domestic affairs.
