Wilderness (Special Base)

Jeremy then resumed his journey toward the southeast. He would soon reach the core area of the wilderness.

Though Elder John had assured him that corrupted beast activity would be lower here, he wouldn’t let down his guard.

While walking, he thought of the lifeline beast.

"Thanks for helping out. Do you have a name?" he asked his lifeline beast.

[I had one. But I can’t remember now.]

The helpless female voice sounded again.

Hearing that, Jeremy Night’s expression changed drastically. He wondered if something might have happened to the beast.

"Do you have any problem?" he asked.

[Yes, my memory is not complete. It might take time to recover.]

The female voice sounded, but this time it was calm. The beast collected its thoughts.

"Alright then, I will call you Stellaris, since you have starlight power," Jeremy Night said.

[I like the name.]

Stellaris’s voice sounded. This time, the voice sounded happy.

"Do you know my name?"

"I’m Jeremy Night." Jeremy began to introduce himself and his parents.

Stellaris listened to the conversation calmly. Since her memories were incomplete, she didn’t know many things.

After introducing himself, he began to talk about the world. He thought the beast might not have knowledge about the surroundings.

So he imparted knowledge while exploring the path ahead. Jeremy Night could finally talk to his beast.

He had been envious of others who could communicate with their lifeline beasts. Now he understood what that feeling was like.

Having a lifeline beast provided a lot of support. Not only that, but they could also share a true bond.

It hadn’t been that many days, yet Stellaris had already saved his life more than twice.

Time passed.

He was getting closer to the core area. Even before he could use his eyes to observe the place, Stellaris informed him about it.

He didn’t have to spend energy and time exploring the path; Stellaris was helping him with it.

He felt fortunate and thrilled. The fight against the corrupted beasts wouldn’t be lonely anymore.

If Stellaris hatched in the future, the duo could cause more damage to their enemies. He could also show off his lifeline beast to others.

He couldn’t wait for that day to come.

At the same time, Stellaris was smart. She was actually an adult, but her body had not hatched yet. She understood that her origin was a mystery, as if she didn’t belong to this world.

But the natural energy in the surroundings felt like her own energy. Because of it, she was able to awaken her consciousness.

She would soon come out from the egg. She was also getting to know about the world, even though she had not hatched yet.

She could see everything through her consciousness. That was how she had helped Jeremy Night earlier. Her range of consciousness extended far beyond.

She was also listening to Jeremy Night. She understood that she had been rescued by someone in the Human Alliance, but that person was dead.

Later, her friend brought her to Jeremy Night for the contract ceremony.

She learned from him how Beast Tamers and their lifeline beasts fought alongside each other against the corrupted beasts.

She also got to know about human and lifeline beast talents, as well as Beast Tamer and lifeline beast Tiers.

She learned about Jeremy Night’s talent. She knew about her talent as well. The eye powers and starlight power were part of her original abilities.

That was what she had learned from her broken memories. If she wanted to know more, she had to recover her complete memory.

On the other hand, Jeremy Night was talking nonstop, as if he wanted to impart all his knowledge in one day.

She digested the information from Jeremy Night and formed a big picture in her mind. She knew what the world was facing right now.

Post noon

"Stellaris, are you asleep?" Jeremy Night asked.

He was resting under a tree. Seeing that there was no response from the beast, he was stunned. Then he realized he had been talking nonstop since morning.

By the time he got to the core area, it was already past noon.

Fortunately, Stellaris had guided him earlier, so he could take the fastest and safest route with the least obstruction. If not for Stellaris, he would have spent more time clearing the weeds.

Sigh!

He heaved a sigh of relief. More than the mission and the news that forces from the top 3 zones were coming to recruit, he was happy that he could talk to Stellaris.

Now he figured out that Stellaris might have spent energy to guide him. She must be resting now.

So he calmed his heart down. Next, he took out the modern tech helmet. He pressed the button and put it on his head.

Beep!

With the beep sound, the device was activated. Actually, he needed to start the mapping from the border.

But in order not to cause confusion, he thought it was right to start from the core area. He then stood up after ending his break.

He took the device and viewed the map again. He saw that the core area was uneven. If he could follow the route through the narrower area, he could get to the border faster.

He then put away the device into the storage ring. Next, he resumed his journey. Since it was the core area, he started sensing the presence of the corrupted beasts.

He started using his eye powers again. He spotted Tier-4 and Tier-5 beasts from afar. They were going in some other direction.

He moved slowly so as not to attract any attention. It didn’t take long for the beasts to be gone. He then increased his pace.

The terrain was changing again, from flat land to rocky land. Now the terrain had unevenly sized rocks protruding from the ground.

Some of the rocks were taller than a human. He saw beast claw marks on the rocks. Some of the rocks had been shattered by beasts.

The tops of the rocks were clearly missing. He then went through the terrain safely. He was also waiting for Stellaris to awaken.

He noticed that the unknown beast egg was absorbing natural energy from the surroundings. Usually, this happened inside the practice chamber.

But Stellaris was actively doing it right now. He thought that her hatching day was going to come soon.
