Supreme Sword Exalt
Chapter 491 - I Am Your Dao Guardian. Before I Die, No One Can Touch You
The tenth pass of the Gold List was extremely unique because it seemed unaffected by the outside.
Rolling red lightning roared incessantly. Though the humanoid figure grew increasingly unstable, the moment it pointed a finger at Gu Han, the heavenly might brimming with fury intensified. Not even the old blind man’s sword intent could withstand the Great Dao’s obliterating power. In just a short while, only the last wisp of that sword intent remained.
Most likely, Gu Han's end would come the moment that sword intent vanished. And yet, the Great Evolution Sword Scripture showed no reaction. At the critical juncture between life and death, Gu Han forced himself to maintain his last shred of calm. He did not dare to gamble on whether the sword scripture would protect him again. Unlike last time, the Great Dao wasn't here to investigate, but to destroy.
Gu Han looked toward the strand of the gray qi Luo Wushuang had left behind. “God damn it, Luo Wushuang! I’m not done with you!”
According to Yang Yi, this mass of gray qi was his last hope of survival. Gu Han believed him. However, even with that sword intent shielding him, the heavenly might pressed down so heavily that he could barely breathe. Even moving a finger was a challenge.
At that moment, the humanoid figure collapsed in part, bringing forth an even stronger obliteration force. The sword intent dissipated completely, and Gu Han’s form began to crumble along with it.
Just as despair welled up in his heart, a peerlessly domineering sword intent descended amid a thunderous roar. It transformed into a somewhat hazy figure, his bearing as upright as the sword intent that soared to the heavens around him.
Yun Jiansheng raised his arm gently, and a vast and abundant sword intent descended, blocking that obliteration force. Then, a clear and resonant voice reached Gu Han’s ears, devoid of any trace of agedness. “I came a little late. Kid, are you alright?”
He could only rush here so quickly because of the sword intent he had given Gu Han. Otherwise, forcing his way into this inherently void tenth pass would have been very difficult.
Gu Han was stunned. “S-Senior?”
Even though he recognized both the sword intent and aura, Gu Han was still in denial. At least, until he recalled Chongming’s words. Senior really is ten times more handsome than me and Fatty!
Still, even someone as strong as Yun Jiansheng faced immense pressure before the obliteration force. His already rather hazy form grew even more unreal.
Gu Han immediately understood what had happened. His heart sank sharply. “Senior, you—”
Yun Jiansheng’s tone carried a hint of helplessness. “Kid, I told you to go cause some trouble, but did you really have to provoke an existence like this? You’re even bolder than I was back then! Since I won’t be around in the future, you must not be so reckless anymore.”
Gu Han’s heart ached. “Senior...”
Naturally, the meaning behind those words wasn't lost on him. He found himself hating Luo Wushuang with a passion. If that man ever appeared before him again, he would cut him down without hesitation!
Yun Jiansheng understood what he was thinking, yet there was not the slightest hint of reproach in his voice. “It’s okay. I am your dao guardian! I will take care of your mess! Before I die, no one can touch you!”
His sword intent surged to the heavens, pushing back against that obliteration force.
Turning to look at the red figure, his voice was filled with endless arrogance. “Not even you!”
He lifted his right hand slightly. With two fingers pressed together, he gathered a peerlessly domineering sword intent at their tips before unleashing it. Just like that, he had counterattacked that figure!
The humanoid figure was enraged. “An... ant!”
In the void, a vast will descended.
“I... am... hea—”
Yun Jiansheng smiled proudly. “So what?! If heaven dares touch him, then I will wage war against heaven itself!”
He surged forward three chi in an instant. Opposite him, the red figure’s form shattered at one corner once again. Yun Jiansheng’s form also became more transparent, yet his sword intent remained as domineering and unyielding as ever.
Gu Han’s eyes turned bloodshot as he clenched his fists tightly. “Senior!”
Judging from his condition, Yun Jiansheng had clearly unleashed the sword he had nurtured for over a thousand years. Gu Han knew very well it had originally been meant to slay a god—to avenge his fellow sword cultivators. Instead, Yun Jiansheng had used it to protect Gu Han without hesitation. This left Gu Han both sorrowful and deeply guilty.
As if guessing his thoughts, Yun Jiansheng smiled. “Kid, do not blame yourself. I don’t regret using this sword for you. Even if those fellow disciples knew, they would not blame me. It’s just a pity that I won’t be able to say goodbye to Master Rooster.”

In the Central Continent, the giant shifted his gaze to the Central Dao Palace. Compared to his towering form, that extremely tall yet lone peak was no different from a small mound. Wherever his gaze passed, all the structures turned to dust in succession. He also discovered the God-Slaying Formation deep underground, where a former divine clan member’s body was sealed.
He said somewhat angrily, “The filth of the mortal world must be cleansed by divine flames!”
Endless divine power spread outward at an inconceivable speed. As if alive, the vast divine power ignited without wind. Red divine flames surged upward, enveloping everything along their path. Grasses, trees, living creatures, the earth, and even the spirit opportunities were incinerated.
The divine flames spread at a speed rivaling that of Ascension realm cultivators. Higher-ranking cultivators farther away fared better, but the rest were completely devoured. Voices filled with fear and despair rang out from all directions, yet they could not stir the slightest pity in the giant’s heart.
“Aaah!!!!”
“Help!”
“What is this?!”
In just a moment, a vast expanse of barren land appeared within the Central Continent. It was a dead zone. Those divine flames seemed to plunder qi to nourish themselves, burning ever more fiercely. Wherever they passed, aside from a grayish-white symbolizing desolation, there was no other color.
The giant said coldly again, “The crime of blaspheming the divine admits no exemption! Only by offering one’s life can the sin be erased!”
Wrapped in endless divine power, a massive arm slowly extended, about to break the God-Slaying Formation and release the sealed body.
