The arena was already damaged.

Cracked stone. Blood stains. Broken weapons.

Because Draven had been here earlier.

And he never cleaned up after himself.

The Calm Before Impact

Kael stepped into the arena.

Clean.

Composed.

Untouched.

His eyes scanned the destruction.

“…Pathetic.”

A voice echoed behind him.

“…Say that again.”

Kael didn’t turn.

“I prefer not to repeat myself.”

Silence.

Then—

A laugh.

Low.

Unstable.

Excited.

Draven Enters

Draven walked in slowly.

Cracking his knuckles.

Blood still drying on his skin.

Eyes locked on Kael.

“…You’re the one they keep comparing him to.”

Kael finally turned.

Measured.

Calm.

“…And you’re the one who can’t control himself.”

A grin split across Draven’s face.

“…Good.”

“Talk like that again.”

No Signal. No Start.

Draven moved first.

Of course he did.

A blur of raw power.

A punch aimed to crush.

Kael didn’t dodge.

He stepped into it.

Shifted his stance—

Redirected the force—

Draven’s fist missed by an inch.

Kael’s blade struck.

Clean.

Precise.

Blood drew across Draven’s ribs.

First Difference

Draven looked down.

At the cut.

Then smiled wider.

“…You’re fast.”

Kael stepped back.

Reset.

“You’re slow.”

Escalation

Draven roared.

Aura exploded outward—

Wild. Violent. Unstable.

He charged again.

Faster now.

Harder.

Unpredictable.

Kael adjusted instantly.

Minimal movement.

Maximum efficiency.

Every strike—

Dodged.

Every opening—

Punished.

Another cut.

Then another.

Then another.

Draven’s body—

Bleeding.

But not slowing.

Crowd Reaction

Students whispered:

“He’s losing—”

“No… he’s getting faster—”

Kael noticed it first.

Of course he did.

“…You adapt through damage.”

Draven laughed.

“…I evolve through pain.”

Second Phase — Instinct Awakens

Draven stopped thinking.

Not metaphorically.

Literally.

His movements changed.

No pattern.

No rhythm.

No hesitation.

Kael struck—

Draven didn’t dodge.

He took the hit—

And grabbed Kael’s arm.

BOOM—

Slammed him into the ground.

The arena shook.

Gasps filled the air.

Close Combat — The Gap Closes

Draven stood over him.

Breathing heavy.

Grinning.

“…Now you’re fun.”

Kael twisted—

Escaped.

Rolled back.

Stood up instantly.

Dust settled.

Blood—

on his lip.

Silence.

Kael’s Shift

For the first time—

Kael adjusted.

Not just physically.

Mentally.

“…You’re not a fighter.”

Draven tilted his head.

“…What?”

Kael raised his blade.

Eyes sharper than before.

“You’re a weapon.”

A pause.

“…Weapons break.”

Third Phase — Precision vs Madness

Kael moved.

Faster.

Sharper.

More aggressive.

Targeting joints.

Tendons.

Weak points.

Draven attacked wildly—

But now—

He was being controlled.

Step by step.

Forced into positions.

Forced into mistakes.

Kael’s voice remained calm.

“You rely on durability.”

“On instinct.”

“On momentum.”

A strike—

Draven’s knee buckled.

Another—

his shoulder cut deep.

“You don’t understand combat.”

Breaking Point

Draven dropped to one knee.

Breathing heavy.

Body trembling.

Blood dripping.

The crowd leaned forward.

“…It’s over,” someone whispered.

Draven lowered his head.

Silent.

Still.

Then—

He started laughing.

The Monster Emerges

“…You’re right.”

He stood up slowly.

Bones cracking.

Muscles tightening.

Aura shifting.

Darker.

Denser.

Unstable—

but focused.

“…I don’t understand combat.”

He lifted his head.

Eyes glowing brighter.

“…I understand killing.”

Final Clash

He moved.

Faster than before.

Too fast.

Even Kael’s eyes widened slightly.

“…What—”

CLANG—

Kael barely blocked.

The force sent him sliding back.

Cracks formed under his feet.

Draven didn’t stop.

Strike after strike—

No pattern.

No pause.

No hesitation.

Kael adapted—

But slower now.

For the first time—

He was reacting.

Interruption

“ENOUGH.”

The principal’s voice shattered the arena.

Both froze instantly.

Pressure crushed everything.

Silence.

Aftermath

Draven stood there.

Smiling.

Bleeding.

Alive.

“…Heh.”

Kael straightened his posture.

Wiped the blood from his lip.

Eyes locked on Draven.

“…You’re unstable.”

Draven grinned wider.

“…And you’re boring.”

A pause.

Then—

Kael spoke quietly:

“…Next time, I’ll finish it.”

Draven laughed.

“…Next time, try to survive.”

End Scene

From the shadows—

Lucifer watched.

Silent.

Thinking.

Chirin whispered:

“…They’re both monsters.”

Lucifer smiled faintly.

“…No.”

A pause.

“…They’re both incomplete.”

His eyes gleamed.

“…That’s why I’ll win.”
