The Devil’s Reign:The first law of void
Chapter 38:The princess who sees too much
She doesn’t guess.
She observes.
Tiny things:
Who Lucifer looks at (and why)
When he smiles (and when he doesn’t)
What he says… vs what he means
Her Ability (Subtle, Not Broken)
“Spirit Sight” (Royal Trait)
Not mind reading.
But:
Detects emotional inconsistencies
Feels “wrongness” in intent
Reads intent through mana fluctuations
She can’t prove Lucifer is dangerous.
But she knows.
The academy garden was quiet.
Too quiet for nobles.
Too clean.
Too controlled.
Lucifer sat on a stone bench.
Alone.
Drinking something cold.
Watching people pass like pieces on a board.
“…Boring,” he muttered.
“Then leave.”
Lucifer didn’t turn.
But he smiled slightly.
“…And who are you to tell me what to do?”
A presence stepped closer.
Light.
Refined.
Sharp.
Elira Sylvane.
Silver hair.
Emerald eyes.
Posture perfect.
Not arrogance—
Authority.
Lucifer glanced up.
Paused.
“…Elf princess.”
Elira didn’t react.
“Commoner,” she replied calmly.
A faint grin.
“I’ve heard about you.”
Lucifer leaned back.
“…Only good things, I hope.”
Elira’s gaze didn’t soften.
Didn’t shift.
Didn’t blink.
“No.”
Silence.
That was new.
Lucifer tilted his head.
Interested.
“…That’s rare.”
She stepped closer.
Stopping just within his space.
Close enough to feel pressure.
“Everyone else is impressed.”
A pause.
“I’m not.”
Lucifer chuckled softly.
“…You should be.”
Elira’s eyes sharpened.
“You’re strong.”
“Talented.”
“Dangerous.”
A beat.
“But not honest.”
The air changed.
Lucifer didn’t move.
Didn’t react.
But something behind his eyes—
Shifted.
“…Careful,” he said quietly.
“That almost sounded like an accusation.”
Elira leaned in slightly.
“It is.”
The Clash (Not Physical — Psychological)
Lucifer smiled.
Easy.
Relaxed.
“Then prove it.”
Elira didn’t hesitate.
“You saved people in the village.”
Lucifer shrugged.
“…I’m generous.”
“You let some die.”
A pause.
Lucifer’s smile didn’t change.
“…I’m not perfect.”
“You manipulated survivors.”
“…They were grateful.”
“You enjoyed it.”
Silence.
That—
Was closer.
Lucifer’s eyes narrowed slightly.
“…And?”
Elira stepped even closer.
Now they were face to face.
“You don’t care about people.”
A beat.
“You care about control.”
The First Real Hit
Lucifer laughed.
Soft.
Slow.
“…And you care too much.”
Elira didn’t react.
“You think the world runs on truth,” Lucifer continued.
“It runs on power.”
“And you’re using both,” she replied instantly.
That—
Landed.
Lucifer stood up slowly.
Now towering over her.
“…You’re smart.”
A pause.
“…That makes you dangerous.”
Elira didn’t step back.
“You’re worse.”
End Scene
As Lucifer walked past her—
He stopped.
Just for a second.
“…Don’t try to expose me,” he said quietly.
Elira turned slightly.
“Or what?”
A faint smile appeared.
Not kind.
Not playful.
Cold.
“…You won’t like what you find.”
He left.
Elira stood there.
Still.
Silent.
Then whispered—
“…I already don’t.”
