The Fantastic Little Farmer
Chapter 196: Showing Off Affection
Chapter 196: Chapter 196: Showing Off Affection
Being able to enter his Personal Space with a single thought was Zhang Yun’s greatest safeguard. However, this time, he was the one launching a sneak attack. He had the time to prepare his tactics and wanted to challenge himself.
Asura had a gun and throwing needles in his hands, making him incredibly hard to defend against. Since Zhang Yun wasn’t confident in landing a headshot with his first shot, he aimed for the larger target: the torso. Following that up with a forward charge meant his opponent would inevitably attack him head-on! Anticipating this, Zhang Yun chose a completely unexpected angle. Rushing in front of the two, he ignored Qi Luo. He didn’t stand there issuing threatening warnings, nor did he even aim and shoot directly. Instead, he simply dove straight into a tackle!
At the exact moment Asura fired his gun and threw his needles, Zhang Yun’s body reached him a step faster. Accompanying the tackle was the Blood Demon Blade, plunging straight into Asura’s heart!
CLICK! CLICK!
Asura’s gun clicked, but no bullets fired! Furthermore, his other hand—the one holding the throwing needles—was firmly gripped by Qi Luo.
This left Asura dumbfounded. This meant that even if Zhang Yun had just stood there and let himself be attacked, the strike would have hit nothing but air!
Wait a minute... He had just felt something, a sudden fading of his consciousness!
After the Blood Demon Blade pierced the man’s heart, Zhang Yun swiftly twisted his wrist, drilling into and shredding the heart while rapidly absorbing his Blood Energy.
One shot to subdue the enemy! One stab for a fatal blow!
Besides twisting the blade, Zhang Yun jammed the muzzle of the gun in his other hand right under Asura’s jaw. If Asura possessed immense strength and could still struggle, or if his reflexes were fast enough to aim his gun back, Zhang Yun wouldn’t hesitate to shoot straight up and blow his head off!
He did struggle, but it amounted to nothing more than a few bodily twitches.
"How are you holding up?" Zhang Yun asked, propping himself up as he pulled the blade out and began stabbing the corpse in other places.
"..."
Asura was left completely speechless; this guy really was ruthless and downright twisted!
"I won’t die," Qi Luo answered.
"There were no bullets in the gun?" Zhang Yun asked.
Zhang Yun’s challenge just now carried an element of risk. If he couldn’t pull it off, he would still have had to hide inside his Peach Blossom Spring Space. However, Qi Luo definitely knew there were no bullets in the gun, and since she had helped pin down the hand holding the needles, she had effectively eliminated all danger for him.
Qi Luo smiled bitterly. "I warned him to back off, so I had to take the safety off to let him know I was willing to shoot. But I couldn’t risk an accidental misfire hurting him, so I removed the magazine beforehand."
"His malice lost to your kindness," Zhang Yun praised.
"Stop being sarcastic..." Qi Luo couldn’t help but complain. "He’s already dead. Could you stop mutilating his corpse?"
She genuinely wondered if this guy actually stabbed people for fun.
Zhang Yun laughed heartily but didn’t explain. As expected of a giant, Asura possessed incredibly vigorous Blood Energy. He could feel that the Blood Demon Blade hadn’t finished absorbing it all yet.
"Are his throwing needles poisoned?" Zhang Yun asked. "Did you get hit by that last one?"
Asura had been about to throw the needles, but his hand was now empty. That meant they flew out right as Qi Luo grabbed his wrist. Where else could a deflected needle go? Naturally, into Qi Luo!
"I got hit... and it was more than just one needle at the end. I don’t know if they’re poisoned, either." She let out a bitter laugh and attempted to sit up, assessing her body’s condition.
Those two kicks had done more than just make her cough up blood; her internal organs felt twisted, and her waist felt like it had been snapped in half. The agony caused her to break out in a cold sweat. The intense pain masked everything else, making it impossible to pinpoint exactly where the needles had struck or feel if there was any numbness or toxic effects.
Zhang Yun looked down at Asura’s body and sighed. "You don’t need to die with regrets. In the end, you still successfully shot Qi Luo..."
"???"
Qi Luo rolled her eyes. "I still have bullets right here. Do you want me to shoot you a few times?"
"Hehe, no need. I’d rather be the one shooting you."
Just then, a woman wearing a baseball cap and mask quickly jogged over.
"What happened?" She immediately supported Qi Luo.
Qi Luo smiled bitterly. "He tried to kill me, and my friend saved me. We’ll talk later. Just help me clean this up. I’ll pay you extra..."
"A gun just went off, so the commotion is bound to draw attention. You two need to leave quickly! We’ll handle the scene."
"Understood!" Qi Luo immediately shot a side-eye at Zhang Yun, her gaze clearly asking if he was done stabbing him yet.
By this point, Zhang Yun had absorbed just about all the Blood Energy, so he put away the Blood Demon Blade.
After speaking, the masked woman retreated, likely rushing off to consult with her team. With the giant Asura added to the mess, even if they were Qi Luo’s friends, they simply didn’t have the time or Kung Fu to look after her.
With Qi Luo currently unable to move an inch, Zhang Yun couldn’t just leave her be. He stood up and examined himself. This encounter had been much messier; he had gotten Asura’s blood on him during the tackle, and more had splattered when he obliterated the heart. He was going to have to throw away yet another outfit.
"I’m not trying to take advantage of you..." he began.
Qi Luo sighed inwardly, thinking that even though this guy was a ruthless weirdo, he could still be quite a polite gentleman sometimes. She was just about to say that carrying her away wouldn’t count as taking advantage, only to watch in horror as Zhang Yun smeared a bit of Asura’s blood on his hand and groped her butt!
"Damn it! What kind of sick game are you playing now?!" Qi Luo broke out in full-body goosebumps. This guy was a genuine pervert!
Zhang Yun looked utterly baffled. "Didn’t I just explain it to you beforehand?"
"Explain what?! I wouldn’t even mind if you just touched my butt, but smearing his dead blood all over it? What is wrong with you?!" Qi Luo was bordering on hysterics.
Zhang Yun chuckled. "You misunderstood. Why would I grope your butt? It’s not even that big. I’ve got blood all over me, right? That’s going to be hard to explain to anyone who sees us. But if I smear a little blood on your pants, people will just think Aunt Flo is visiting, and I accidentally got some of your blood on me..."
"..."
Qi Luo was completely drained of energy, feeling as though a stampede of ten thousand alpacas had just trampled through her mind.
"Forget it. I can’t keep up with your twisted thought process. Just get me out of here. Don’t delay their work..."
Zhang Yun immediately scooped her up into his arms, causing Qi Luo to draw in a sharp breath of cold air from the pain.
"You freak... Can’t you be a little more careful? My ribs might be broken..."
"You were able to sit up on your own just now. They’re probably not broken."
"..." Qi Luo admitted defeat. Was now really the time to debate whether they were broken or not? Couldn’t he just say a few comforting words?
As Zhang Yun carried her away, he realized he had overthought things. The blood on his clothes was completely hidden by Qi Luo’s body; no one would be able to see it anyway.
"Oh, the passion of youth! Look at that princess carry. Old man, can you still carry me like that?"
"Do you want my old bones to snap?"
"Look at them! I want to be carried too!"
"Look at yourself! She probably weighs ninety pounds, and you’re pushing a hundred and fifty. How am I supposed to carry you?"
"Damn it! Just out for a morning run and I’m being force-fed dog food!"
"Tch, you can tell he hasn’t scored yet. If he had, they’d be working out in a hotel room right now. Who has the blind Kung Fu to waste their energy out here?"
Everyone they passed along the way gossiped, assuming they were just a couple showing off their affection. The attention was so embarrassing that Qi Luo buried her face against Zhang Yun’s chest to avoid being seen. However, the more she hid, the more intimate it appeared to the onlookers.
Zhang Yun walked briskly, carrying her all the way to the parking lot.
"Do you know any doctors? Or do you need to head back to your Celestial Mandate?"
Qi Luo froze for a moment. "You’re abandoning me? I’m your person!"
