Carson laughed: "Just luck, pure luck!"

Varric Combs sneered: "Not everyone has this kind of luck..."

Carson couldn’t help but ask the question in his heart: "With True Sage Grand Void being so powerful, is he not participating in the Immortal Demon War?"

Varric Combs chuckled: "The Immortal Demon War has great impact, but with Norric overseeing things and numerous Quasi-Saints helping in defense, someone as detached as True Sage Grand Void naturally won’t come."

"But this time he might have to, since Norric has issued the Immortal Emperor’s Summon Order..."

Varric Combs paused for a moment, then looked at Carson and chuckled: "As Ten Thousand Immortals Domain is one of the Eight Great Immortal Domains, many people will surely come, and you might see many old friends."

Carson blinked and said with a grin: "Who knows, maybe Cyrveth McCarty from Skyreach Sect will come too. His Heaven-devouring Altar is still with you, right?"

Varric Combs’ face instantly turned dark, as he intended to tease Carson a little, but got countered instead.

The Heaven-devouring Altar is Cyrveth McCarty’s Life-bound Magic Treasure, which Varric Combs had snatched away, a matter that surely couldn’t be resolved easily. If Cyrveth McCarty came here, he would definitely cause trouble for Varric Combs.

Carson chuckled and changed the topic: "Senior, during our First Legion’s assault, you guys infiltrated the Demon Clan Camp, how did it go? Can you share some details?"

Varric Combs pondered for a moment: "It’s not really confidential, but you should know and not spread it..."

Carson nodded readily: "Certainly!"

Varric Combs’ expression turned serious: "The First Legion’s attack was a feint, a cover; the ultimate goal was for us to sneak in and investigate the Immortal Demon Passage and attempt to destroy it..."

Carson heard the massive explosion and saw the demon experts swarm towards the passage, and eagerly asked: "Was it destroyed?"

"It was bombed, but to no effect."

Varric Combs’ face became grave: "Research on the Immortal Demon Passage has never ceased, yet compared to previous exploration records, this time the passage doesn’t even have any oscillations!"

Carson frowned, puzzled: "Oscillations? What are those?"

Varric Combs explained: "The Immortal Demon Passage is an overlap between two positions. Because of the overlap, it causes intense vibrations, resulting in strong oscillations within the passage, especially noticeable at the passage edges. These oscillations represent instability after the overlap, which have always been present in prior records."

"This time, when we infiltrated the Demon Clan Camp and reached the edges of the passage, we found it not only fully open but without any oscillations, a phenomenon never seen before."

Carson widened his eyes: "No oscillations, what does that mean?"

Varric Combs’ expression was stern: "Solidified! Stabilized! No oscillations mean the Immortal Demon Passage has entered a stable state, no longer temporarily overlapped..."

Carson felt a chill on his scalp; though he had suspected this outcome, witnessing it come true was still shockingly overwhelming.

"Senior, are you saying the Immortal Demon Passage is completely connected and will never close again?"

"It seems that way!"

Varric Combs smiled bitterly: "Not only has the passage solidified, but we discovered its edges are still exhibiting virtual concave phenomena, indicating the passage is still expanding..."
