The Fluffballs I Fed Were SSS-Rank Beastmen
Chapter 211: Happy Times Are Back Again!
Chapter 211: Chapter 211: Happy Times Are Back Again!
Upon receiving the news that the Iron-eating Beast had awakened, Xu Yi rushed back to the Seventh Service Area as fast as he could.
Before he could even take a sip of water, Liang He urged him to examine the Iron-eating Beast.
"How is it? Is Jiao Jiao cured?" Liang He asked, looking at Xu Yi nervously.
Although she had done a simple checkup on the Iron-eating Beast herself before Xu Yi arrived, she still wanted to hear a definitive answer from him.
"There’s no need to worry anymore. The toxins in Xuan Jiao’s body have essentially been flushed out. He’s just a bit weak and will need a period of careful recovery," Xu Yi explained. He knew very well that Liang He must have had a hand in this miraculous recovery, but he chose not to ask too many questions.
Even though the toxins had been cleared from the Iron-eating Beast, his body had still sustained damage, making proper rest absolutely necessary.
"Okay, I’ll take good care of Jiao Jiao." From Liang He’s understanding of traditional Chinese medicine, this meant his body had suffered a deficit and needed to be replenished.
Having confirmed that the Iron-eating Beast was truly better, the heavy gloom in Liang He’s heart mostly dissipated. Seeing the baby panda and the Iron-eating Beast snuggled up together, she couldn’t help but smile.
"SCREECH~"
"MEOW~"
"AWOO~"
Sensing Liang He’s joy, the fluffy animals happily gathered around her, vying for her affection in various ways. They had been utterly stifled during this recent period.
"Haha, stop licking me." Liang He gently refused the fluffy animals’ invitation to join their mutual grooming session. Suddenly feeling a chill on top of her head, she quickly reached up to block it. "Lanton! No pulling my hair!"
"Screech..."
Stopped in his tracks, the Canglan Hunting Eagle flew down looking utterly aggrieved. He squatted obediently to the side and buried his small head in his chest, seemingly aware that he had made a mistake.
"Alright, it’s not like I’m blaming you." Unable to bear seeing the fluffy animals upset, Liang He sighed helplessly. This was exactly how they always managed to wrap her around their little paws!
"ROAR..."
Perhaps feeling that Liang He’s attention had been stolen by the Canglan Hunting Eagle and the others, Yin Qi tried to squeeze his way into the circle. To his surprise, he was blocked out by the combined efforts of the Platinum Giant Lion and the Mengji Snow Leopard, causing him to let out a depressed, low roar.
"Just stay out of this."
Before Liang He could say anything, Silver Feather swooped in and dragged Yin Qi away by the tail, pulling him toward the activity room.
"You’re a newcomer. Do you really think you can beat them in a competition for attention? You’ll be much more lovable if you just behave." Regardless of whether Yin Qi could understand her or not, Silver Feather whispered advice into his ear.
However, Yin Qi didn’t buy it at all. He stomped his feet and whined. In his eyes, a latecomer who wanted to come out on top had to fight and snatch what they wanted! This was the absolute law of the Animal World!
"Enough! Keep yapping, and I’ll have Silver Li send you right back!"
Ever since confirming that Yin Qi wasn’t sick, but rather experiencing a normal phenomenon of a Returning Ancestor, Silver Feather had stopped spoiling him. If it weren’t for her desire to spend more time with Liang He, coupled with the hope that Yin Qi might eventually coax Liang He into coming back with them, she wouldn’t have bothered with him at all.
"ROAR..."
Understanding this threat perfectly, Yin Qi completely gave up. He lay depressed at the main entrance between the activity room and the dormitories. When Liang He finally emerged from the dormitory, she immediately caught sight of Yin Qi. Radiating a gloomy aura, he stared at her with a pitiful expression.
"Yin Qi, what’s wrong? Did something upset you?"
Although Yin Qi was a newcomer, Liang He wouldn’t neglect him because of it. She had just been too overjoyed by the Iron-eating Beast waking up, which, combined with the other fluffy animals causing a ruckus, had made her too distracted to notice him for a moment.
"ROAR..."
He was feeling terribly wronged, but he wasn’t about to say anything.
Seeing the formerly aloof and restrained Divine Son now acting like such an innocent, manipulative little victim was simply unbearable to watch. Silver Feather rolled her eyes hard. She wondered why she had never noticed that Yin Qi possessed this shameless hidden trait before.
"Alright, be good now. I’m going to prepare something delicious for all of you, okay?"
With the Iron-eating Beast fully recovered, Liang He’s mood had improved, and she finally had the peace of mind to prepare a feast for the fluffy animals. Lately, she had been brushing them off with pre-made canned food or fresh meat delivered by the reserve. Liang He felt quite guilty about it, feeling she had treated them poorly.
"ROAR~" Hearing that there would be good food, Yin Qi happily rubbed against Liang He. He knew she was trying to coax him, so he naturally had to play along. He couldn’t let Liang He think he was being unreasonable.
"ROAR~"
He felt quite smug, thinking he was the most well-behaved one after all.
Yin Qi eagerly trotted after Liang He into the kitchen. Unable to watch this display any longer, Silver Feather chose the path of out of sight, out of mind, and went to see what Silver Shuttle was up to.
"ARGH! I’m so mad! What a bunch of idiots!"
As soon as she found Silver Shuttle, Silver Feather saw him angrily toss his Light Brain onto the couch beside him before kicking the coffee table in frustration.
"What are you doing? Working yourself up into such a fit." Silver Feather picked up the Light Brain he had thrown onto the couch. Glancing at the screen, she realized he was arguing with netizens who had been misled by paid trolls. To be precise, he had been continuously defending Liang He under the comments accusing her of failing to properly care for the Iron-eating Beast.
"When did a punk like you learn to care about others?" Silver Feather looked at Silver Shuttle with a hint of surprise.
Feeling a bit embarrassed under her gaze, Silver Shuttle awkwardly rubbed his nose. "I almost got Liang He killed before, so I just wanted to do something to make up for it."
Liang He had already said that she wouldn’t hold the past against him, since he had been deceived by the Rebel Army and had subsequently helped her wipe out a group of them. However, Silver Shuttle still felt terrible about it. He wanted to do something to help her so he could feel better about himself.
"The fact that you know how to reflect on your actions is a good thing. You’re not entirely hopeless yet." Silver Feather actually quite agreed with Silver Shuttle’s mindset. The victim’s generosity was her own business, but a mistake was still a mistake. It couldn’t just be brushed off as if nothing had happened.
"My lady, can I please just tell them that Xuan Jiao has woken up?" Because he hadn’t gotten everyone’s permission, Silver Shuttle didn’t dare act rashly. This constraint made him extremely passive while arguing with the netizens.
"There’s no rush. Liang He has her own plans for this matter."
Actually, Silver Feather had a rough idea of what Liang He wanted to do. Sometimes, over-explaining only made prejudiced people believe she was covering up or making excuses. It would be better to let the netizens exhaust their anger first. Once they had calmed down a bit, speaking directly with facts would be far more effective than wasting breath.
"Alright..." Silver Shuttle, who had thought he could deliver a finishing blow to the argument, hung his head dejectedly after being rejected.
"Enough of that. Liang He went to prepare food for them, so hurry up and go help her." Seeing him like this, Silver Feather gave him a light, exasperated kick, reminding him to go to the kitchen. As a temporary Breeder and Liang He’s little assistant, Silver Shuttle naturally couldn’t just sit around doing nothing.
"Ah? Oh, right, I’ll go right away."
After suffering the bitter consequences of human malice, Silver Shuttle was much better behaved now. He didn’t shirk his work, completely shedding the persona of the mischievous little tyrant he had been back in the temple.
However, by the time he hurried into the kitchen, Liang He was practically finished. She only needed him to help carry the food bowls over to the fluffy animals. As Silver Shuttle watched the fluffy animals eat with immense relish, he couldn’t contain his curiosity and asked Liang He about her next move.
"The Holy Daughter said you’ve already figured out how to respond. Can you tell me? I’m really curious!"
