In Lin Jiji’s eyes, his face was more important than anything.

When Chenyang had made him lose face before, he had sicced all his fans on him.

Now that this security guard was disrespecting him, he decided to take advantage of the man’s urgency to make his life difficult!

As for the officials and the patient, he didn’t care. He couldn’t be bothered.

However, his indifference was making the driver and Liu Yue frantic.

Maybe they could afford to ignore the officials in the car behind them, but they couldn’t turn a blind eye to the dying patient in the ambulance.

In a situation like this, stubbornly refusing to move the van was tantamount to recklessly endangering a human life.

If something happened, they would all be in deep trouble.

The driver was just a driver; he didn’t have the kind of powerful backing Lin Jiji did. Liu Yue was even less willing to attract unnecessary trouble, especially right before she planned to cut ties with him.

So, after exchanging a look, they both tried to reason with him. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

“Brother Lin, why don’t we move? A life is on the line. We could at least let the ambulance pass, and then we can deal with the guard about what happened.”

“Right, right, Sister Yue is right. Let’s just move.”

Lin Jiji shot them a look. “Who do you two work for? Me, or the hospital and that damn security guard?”

“For you, of course!”

“If you work for me, then shut up and stay put!”

“But the person in the ambulance is dying.”

“What the hell does his life or death have to do with me? It’s not like I’m the one who made him sick or got him injured. Besides, he’s just some nobody. Is his life really more important than my face?”

The corner of the driver’s mouth twitched.

‘Are you fucking kidding me? Is that something a human being would say?’

‘Sure, you’re a big star. You’re not ordinary.’

‘But are you really so arrogant that you think your pride is more important than a human life?’

While the driver was cursing him out internally, Liu Yue was on the verge of snapping. She wanted to pull the only “weapon” in her bag—a pair of nail clippers—and give him death by a thousand cuts!

RUMBLE~!

Just as the two of them were trying to figure out how to persuade Lin Jiji again, a deep, muffled engine roar suddenly came from outside.

Looking toward the sound, they saw a large forklift rumbling out from the hospital grounds.

Seeing this, the guard shouted at the van, “If you don’t move this van right now, we’re about to move it for you.”

The driver grimaced and turned his head. “Are we really not moving?”

Lin Jiji had lost his patience for relaying messages through his driver. He rolled down the window, stuck his head out, and yelled, “It’s not that I won’t move the van, but you, you damn guard, have to kneel and apologize to me. On top of that, your hospital director has to come out and personally ask me to move.”

The guard raised an eyebrow. “Make me kneel? And have the director personally come ask you?”

“That’s right!”

“Right my ass! Who the fuck do you think you are, some Qing Dynasty princeling? A chief eunuch? The Qing Dynasty fell ages ago, and you’re still pulling this kneeling bullshit? You want to play that game? Fine. You get out of the van and kneel for me, and I’ll graciously tell you, ‘You may rise, you fucking idiot.'”

Lin Jiji had never been insulted like this in his life. His expression turned uglier than if he’d just eaten shit.

“How dare you! I’m Lin Jiji! Do you have any idea what that name means? Cursing at me like that… Do you realize you’re in huge trouble now?”

“I don’t know about ‘huge trouble,’ but I do know that if you don’t move your van, I’m going to have that forklift flip you into the nearby tree planter like a pancake.”

“Cao Nima, you damn security guard! I’m telling you, you’re finished! Even if your director comes and begs me now, I won’t let any of you off easy! I’ll tell you straight: I am not moving this van. If you so much as touch my vehicle with that forklift, I will personally see to it that this hospital is shut down for good!”

“You’re so full of shit!”

The guard had zero tolerance for Lin Jiji’s bullshit. After yelling back, he immediately shouted to the forklift operator, “Do it! Dump it in the tree planter!”

The forklift operator worked for the hospital. In the past, whenever he encountered someone blocking the way of an ambulance, he wouldn’t hesitate for a second. If it was a person, he’d move the person; if it was a car, he’d move the car.

He never had to worry about the consequences, because the hospital would always step in and handle it.

So, the moment the guard finished speaking, the operator drove the forklift right up to Lin Jiji’s van. He lowered the forks, slid them clean under the chassis, then worked the controls and lifted the entire vehicle into the air.

At the sight of this, it wasn’t just the driver and Liu Yue who panicked—Lin Jiji’s face also turned pale with alarm.
