Chapter 1306: Chapter 870: Mighty White Wall_2

But now they were close.

They felt more.

Sofia took a deep breath, seemingly wanting to discern the pure aura of order within the light screen, her face filled with both longing and an instinctive slight recoil.

After all, she was a half-demon, and she had heard that some extreme order gods wouldn’t let beings like half-demons go, even if they were allies.

Those extreme order gods would cleanse away all evil, including evil bloodlines.

This is a fantasy world, where truly evil bloodlines breed evil individuals.

But it seems now, this Venerable is not like that.

"Target confirmed. Standby Mode A is disabled. Preparing for contact." The electronic eye of Node-07 flickered with streams of data, recording every detail of this legendary fortress.

The emissaries of the Blood War Fortress finally stood at the gates of the Blood Pit Fortress that had altered the entire 1121 layers of the Abyss Battlefield’s layout.

About to step into a miracle land personally guarded by a newly born divine leader, where order stands solid as a fortress.

Breaking the suffocating, numb atmosphere’s existence.

Exhaustion, amazement, and anticipation interwove in their hearts.

The chaos of the abyss seemed temporarily far away, and before them, this fortress represented a never-before-seen beacon of hope on this eternal battleground of slaughter.

The visiting group from the Blood War Fortress, led by Aryan, finally stepped onto the outermost land of the Blood Pit Fortress.

Unlike the orderly defenses they imagined from afar, what greeted them first was... a towering wall worthy of being called a spectacle.

Within that aura.

It was said it shouldn’t be like this, the Night Watchers had reportedly built the walls of Blood Pit Fortress using a certain kind of metal? Very solid and engraved with runes.

"Perhaps this is a more peripheral wall? Though it looks battered, it seems like it was established recently."

As Aryan and the others thought, this wall was indeed hastily erected recently.

The materials composing it are like a collage art from hell.

A chaotic foundation, huge twisted crystalline demon bones serve as the main framework and filler after being impacted by some strong order energy.

Broken giant metal components — some resembling siege engine remains, others bearing clear hell or abyss forging styles — even cracked furnace core shells visible — are sloppily welded and fused together, filling the gaps.

Temporary reinforcements outside, solidified lava smeared at joints, resembling ugly scars.

Huge thorn webs and barbed metal fences hang crookedly on the wall top, evidently repurposed battlefield spoils.

Wall surface covered with claw marks of varying depth, blackened scorch marks, frost freezes and cracks, along with patches of solidified, eerily dark red blood moss.

Even though it’s a "new" wall, it exudes a desolate, bloody yet staunchly standing tragic aura.

This wall indeed as described, doesn’t pursue perfect defense, just solid and durable, effective in hindering, killing, and exhausting the charge of demon waves.

Post-battle, even if partially damaged, it can swiftly be repaired using the omnipresent "construction material" on the battlefield.

Thus, the cruder, simpler, and more practical it is, the better.

The huge gate is wide open, allowing passage for vehicles and personnel.

However, the scene beside was not relaxed.

An improvised steel-framed watchtower is erected closely beside the gate.

As the emissary group approached about fifty meters, a shadow flickered atop the tower.

A figure fully covered in gray-black composite armor, half of its face masked, moved swiftly and silently like a hunting falcon, leaping precisely from about ten meters up.

With a loud thud, they landed a few meters ahead, stirring up a cloud of scorched dust.

The landing impact came to rest just before the squad, without an extra movement.

The guard’s left hand gripped the hilt of a short weapon at his waist, right hand casually hung yet ready to draw a weapon or activate a wrist device.

Eyes beneath the mask scanned sharply over the four emissaries, pausing briefly on Sofia and Node-07.

This made Sofia a bit tense, but the opposite side seemed to do nothing.

"Halt. Identity? Purpose?"

The voice transmitted through the mask, carrying a cold metallic friction-like texture, concise and straightforward, with no formalities.

Appearing reliable and efficient.

Aryan stepped forward half a step, placing his right hand on his chest in a standard cross-planar transit salute.

"Order be with you, warrior. We are the official emissary group from the Blood War Fortress."

"I am Aryan Silver Leaf, commanded by the fortress command conference, carrying documents, here to visit the Blood Pit Fortress leader, and initiate preliminary engagements on logistics and trade matters."

He spoke while extracting from his chest a token badge crafted from special demon-pattern crystal, engraved with the Blood War Fortress’s universal battle emblem and authorization rune, emanating gentle yet stable order waves.

Dwarf Gran groaned, also raising his representative identity rune iron plaque.

Sofia slightly bowed her head, carefully restraining her aura.

Node-07 maintained silence, though its core light steadily flickered.

The guard’s gaze lingered on the badge and crystal token briefly as if verifying their genuineness and authorization level.

He didn’t touch anything, just nodded slightly: "Identity statement and purpose received and confirmed."

After saying this, he seemed momentarily lost for a fraction of a second — evidently transmitting information through their unique internal communication channel, Night Watcher interface.

Channel message silently delivered.

The guard returned to status, "Please wait here briefly, confirmation of information and reception personnel are approaching. Do not leave the designated area."

He pointed to a relatively flat, open space near the gate. His tone was unwavering.

The emissaries remained put, feeling several sights from atop the wall and within the watchtower locking onto them, although without obvious hostility, just vigilance.

The air mixed with a sulfurous scent and thick blood stench from afar, faintly hearing chaotic human voices, metal clashing, and a certain large machinery’s hum from within the wall.

The wait wasn’t long, about ten minutes later, steady, rhythmic hoofbeats sounded from inside the gate.

Hearing this sound, they pricked their ears because the rhythmic stride reminded them of certain peculiar races.

Hoof sounds, peculiar hoof sounds.

A team emerged from the transfer.

Leading was a tall, female half-centaur.

Her upper body seemed like moonlit elf condensation, fair skin, calm and pristine features, silver hair neatly tied behind.

Her sturdy horse body had muscles with sleek lines, cloaked in a purple-tinted metal-like cold gleaming light scale armor, over which faint desecration runes flowed.

This emissary group wasn’t composed of weaklings, they easily detected the source of power on Abis, seemingly not purely order.

Moreover, they could sense from the other a certain order force; it’s a strange mix, making them, these keen perceivers, feel somewhat odd.

But undoubtedly, the power of this half-centaur lady before them was unquestionable; she unquestionably reached Legendary, stronger than their captain.

This centaur is Abis.

Abis was followed by two Night Watcher warriors, more finely equipped than the previous guard, aura steady, steps silent.

Abis’s gaze gently swept through the emissary group, showing a flash of understanding upon seeing Sofia, yet no rejection, only pure inspection.

Her voice was steady and clear, carrying an aura capable of soothing the heart.

"Welcome, emissaries from the Blood War Fortress. I am Abis, ordered by Commander Raelia to receive you. Identity confirmed true, please follow me."

She slightly turned, making a gesture of "please," her demeanor calm and professional.
