THE GOD EATER

Chapter 1348: Taking Over.

"Hear me now, world. Welcome to the era of Black Chain," he shouted at the top of his lungs.

He was so overwhelmed with emotions that he burst out laughing," Hahahahahahahaha."

While he was laughing like a mad man, the Gemini younglings around him were looking at him with naked aggression. Clearly, they didn’t like him. But Black Chain didn’t care.

He was already used to massive resentment directed at him by his numerous enemies. Their resentment didn’t matter then, so it wouldn’t matter now that he was officially the strongest being in the Sea of Worlds.

"Who can stop me now?" he asked loudly as he laughed.

On the two Lokis’ side, after losing their Divine Spark, their godheads began to dim, and their bodies began to crack. Cracks spread rapidly across their body putting them on the edge of being shattered.

"What is happening?" black Loki asked, confused. "I lost a Divine Spark, not even a godhead, so why am I dying?"

"This isn’t right. Losing a Divine Spark shouldn’t lead to the death of the Dao Lord. Is someone attacking us?" white Loki asked, his voice filled with disbelief.

They had a lot of questions about what was going on and why it was happening. But they could agree that they were dying, and it was going to be a permanent death too, since the two clones were dying at the same time.

Just as they were about to shatter to pieces, the Gemini Supreme Metac began to shine as if it was about to explode. As it shone brightly, white Loki’s eyes also flared to life like twin stars.

Slowly, as if awakening from a dream, the look in white Loki’s eyes changed. His body stopped cracking and even began to heal. Black Loki also stopped dying where he was.

White Loki’s bright eyes scanned every inch of his existence, looking for the source of the problem. He spotted the eye at a glance and recognized it.

As his eyes continued to search his body, he said to the eye, "What happened? Why did my prize bull suddenly die?"

The eye said, "I am as clueless as you, my king."

"It happened without warning. I suspect that the Devouring Sovereign made a move somehow."

"Hmmm," White Loki said, deep in thought. "Something must be done about this."

"Let’s start by retracing our steps. We should recover the Divine Mountain first and see if the problem persists."

"I will do so immediately," the eye promised.

"No. I want to do it myself. It has been a long time since I relaxed and had fun. I think I’m going to enjoy this," white Loki said, grinning.

On the surface, nothing seemed to have changed aside from the replacement of the position of Mountain Lord. Loki was still alive and a part of the Olympic Divine Court.

The Olympic Divine Court’s total Domain Power was still 114,42 billion square kilometers since they didn’t lose his Domain Power and everyone was stronger for it. Everything looked fine, no matter how anyone looked at the situation.

But where no one could see, in the depths of Loki’s existence, a white crystal sphere floated aimlessly in the darkness. The white crystal sphere was as bright as a star. In fact, it was the brightest thing in the Sea of Worlds. Unfortunately, its brightness was as dim as a candle in this darkness.

"I am screwed this time, aren’t I?" he thought lightly, trying not to panic.

He had been alone in this kind of darkness many times before. The only difference between his current situation and his previous ones was that time was still flowing, and he couldn’t sense any anchor that would reconnect him to reality.

He couldn’t sense any version of himself in the darkness, so he was thoroughly alone. And without an anchor to reconnect him to reality, he couldn’t do anything else and could be stuck here forever.

The problem was that time was still flowing, and he couldn’t stay here forever. The timeline hadn’t been destroyed, so time kept flowing in the darkness, and every moment he lived consumed divine crystal in the 4-D prototype to keep him alive.

"The good news is that I have stockpiled 91,000 years of divine crystals. The bad news is that I have 83 Supreme Metacs burning through the divine crystals, so it definitely can’t last 91,000 years."

"The worst news is that every one of the 83 Supreme Metacs are Cosmic Daos. So I definitely can’t last up to 500 years."

The 91,000 years’ worth of divine crystal could keep the godhead of a one-star celestial with one Minor Supreme Metac going for 91,000 years. A Minor Supreme Metac produced 9 units of divinity, so one unit of divinity cost 0.1111 units of divinity per year to run.

He, on the other hand, was not a one-star celestial with one Minor Supreme Metac. He had a 4-D prototype with 83 Cosmic Dao, producing 2,241 units of commonalities.

Of the 2,241 units of commonalities, only 2,223 units were active and were being converted into divinity by 38 cubes. So each year, he was consuming 2,223 × 0.1111 units of divine crystal, or 246.98 units. Therefore, his 91,000 units of divine crystal would only last 368.45 years.

"This is not so bad," he thought, trying to cheer himself up. "The worst-case scenario I envisioned didn’t happen, and those two are still alive."

"At least I’m not dead yet. As long as those two eggheads up there reverse time and return to a point where I still have the Divine Crystal, everything will be fine."

"They don’t have supreme mastery in the Time Pathway, but I’m sure they can manage something as simple as a Divine Metac. They are Dao Lords after all."

"One measly Divine Metac shouldn’t be a problem for them, right? Right?" he asked again when no one answered the first time.
