The Goddess CEO Fell in Love with Me
Chapter 111: Suddenly, an Old Friend Crosses the Heart
Chapter 111: Chapter 111: Suddenly, an Old Friend Crosses the Heart
"Jun... Jun Yue?"
Jiang Fan found it hard to believe that the little girl from back then, the one with the dark skin who used to secretly cry, had now blossomed into such a beauty.
"Surprised? Shocked?!"
"Let me tell you, Jun specifically told me to let her know the second you showed up."
"She dropped everything and rushed right over when she heard."
"Um..."
"Hey."
Jiang Fan gave an awkward wave.
"Not bad, Little Fan!"
"You see me and you’re not even going to call me Jun?"
Jiang Fan never imagined that this beauty, who looked so elegant and noble, would actually roll up her sleeves, walk right up to him, and twist his ear.
"Disappeared without a trace all these years, huh? Playing the vanishing act on me, were you?"
"Ow, ow, ow, ow! Let go, let go!"
"What do you mean I disappeared? You’re the one who vanished first!"
"I cried for a long time back then."
"I can vouch for that. Director Grandma told me that after you left, Jun, Jiang would cry by himself every night. His pillow would be soaked by morning."
"You little Snot Girl, how dare you expose me! Just you wait!"
"Jun, let go, let go! My ear’s going to fall off!"
"Hmph!"
"You little heartless thing! Didn’t even think to look for me, huh?"
"But still... it’s good that you’re finally back."
As Jun Yue spoke, she pulled Jiang Fan into a hug.
Instantly, Jiang Fan felt a softness against his T-shirt... hmm, and warmth.
"Hey, don’t cry."
"Still the same crybaby as when we were kids, huh? Back then you’d hide in a corner to cry secretly, and now you’re doing it in public?"
"You! Well, well, Little Fan, you even dare to joke about me now!"
Her face flushed with embarrassment at his words, Jun Yue was caught between crying and not crying.
She reached out and twisted his ear again.
Jiang Fan grimaced. ’Shouldn’t have run my mouth.’
"How did you know Jun used to hide in a corner and cry when she was little?"
"Spit it out!"
"Were you spying on Jun even when you were kids?"
Li Qian’Er fanned the flames from the side.
Jiang Fan’s hand shot out to grab her. With his skills, how could Li Qian’Er possibly dodge?
In an instant, her little ear was caught.
"Ow, ow, ow! Jiang, let go! My ear’s going to fall off!"
"Grandma! Director Grandma, look at him!!"
"He’s bullying me again!"
Tears of pain were already welling up in Li Qian’Er’s eyes.
"Little Fan, hurry up and let go of Snot Girl."
"Huh?? Jun, don’t you usually call me Little Qian’Er?!"
Li Qian’Er’s face turned beet red. She felt too embarrassed to face anyone now.
Especially when her gaze fell on Sun Yanzi, who was covering her mouth and snickering to the side.
"Alright, alright, stop fooling around, you three."
Director Grandma stood up with a cheerful laugh.
She reached out to rub Jiang Fan’s ear, then patted Li Qian’Er.
"There, there, all better now."
The familiar words and the familiar gesture made all three of them pause.
When Jiang Fan and Jun Yue were bullied or got into fights as children, Director Grandma would always tend to them gently just like this.
Though, most of the time, it was Jiang Fan who received the most petting.
"Hmph! For Grandma’s sake, I’ll let it slide today!"
"But we’ll settle our score later."
Jun Yue took Director Grandma’s arm and helped her to a nearby chair.
"Grandma, how has your health been lately?"
"Have you been eating the things I brought you?"
"Yes, yes, I have. Don’t buy any more in the future. That stuff is expensive."
"It’s not expensive. People gave it all to me as gifts. Just eat it, don’t worry about it. It was all free."
"Silly child. Grandma has lived a long life. I’ve eaten everything there is to eat. You don’t need to go to so much trouble."
To words like these, the three of them simply turned a deaf ear.
"Little Fan, aren’t you going to make an introduction? Is this your girlfriend?"
Jun Yue changed the subject and stood up.
"Let me introduce myself. My name is Jun Yue."
"I’m Sun Yanzi. You’ve misunderstood. I’m not his girlfriend, just a friend."
"I just happened to come along with him today to visit."
After the introductions, Sun Yanzi sat to one side, quietly watching them chat.
For some reason, Jiang Fan felt that the moment the two of them stood up, the atmosphere had become a little strange.
"Jun, have you been abroad all these years?"
"Yes, I only came back last year."
"By the time I came looking, you had all moved, and I had no idea where you’d gone."
"Later, I pulled some strings and managed to save the orphanage."
"I figured that if you came back one day, I’d definitely be able to find you again this way."
"Jun is the smartest one from our orphanage, as expected!"
Li Qian’Er said, swelling with pride.
"Tch."
Jiang Fan just pursed his lips.
"You’d think she was talking about you."
"Are you leaving again now that you’re back?"
"I’ll probably be focusing my career in the country from now on. I recently started a company."
"What are you up to?"
Jiang Fan thought for a moment but decided not to mention Xuerong. After all, a grown man working for a lingerie company... it didn’t sound particularly great.
Especially since Jun Yue was his idealized first love.
"Oh, I’m not doing much of anything. Just making a living."
Seeing that Jiang Fan didn’t want to elaborate, Jun Yue didn’t press him, simply reaching out to ruffle his hair.
"Ever consider coming to help me out? I’ll give you shares."
"You were always full of all sorts of clever and imaginative ideas as a kid. You’d be a huge help to my company."
A warmth spread through Jiang Fan’s heart.
Even after so many years, the first thing Jun Yue did upon seeing him was to worry about him and try to help him.
"No, no, it’s fine. My current job is pretty good."
Jiang Fan shook his head, refusing her offer.
"Oh? You dare to refuse me now? Fine, then tell me this."
"How did you know I used to hide in a corner and cry by myself when we were kids?"
He never expected Jun Yue to suddenly wrap her arm around his neck, pulling him into a headlock.
"COUGH, COUGH, COUGH."
Feeling the softness behind his head, Jiang Fan couldn’t help but cough.
"Because you always cried at night and it would wake me up. Later, it seemed like you realized you were waking me, so you started sneaking off to a corner to cry by yourself."
"I was worried you’d be scared, so every time you went to cry, I was right behind you. You just never knew."
"Otherwise, with the poor conditions in our orphanage back then, you think there wouldn’t have been any rats or snakes?"
As Jiang Fan spoke, the pressure from Jun Yue’s arm lessened until, by the end, it felt as if she were just holding him.
"So... you did that for several years?"
There was an unreadable emotion in Jun Yue’s voice.
