Chapter 390: Chapter 157: The Revenue That Made the Martial Brothers Cry

Ling Shuyu hummed in acknowledgment. "Our average dish price is 60 yuan. With eight chefs, it takes an average of five minutes to prepare one dish. That means, during the six hours we were open, the eight chefs barely rested for a second to reach that sales figure."

After her explanation, everyone understood.

After all, the prices were set, and they hadn’t rested for a single second. The only ways to make more money would be to extend business hours or raise the prices.

The prices were personally set by Su Chen; no one had the authority to change them.

As for extending business hours...

’We really couldn’t handle that!’

After the eight fellow apprentices recovered from their shock, Wang Peixing tilted his head and asked, "Boss, you still haven’t told us the nineteenth floor’s revenue."

Su Chen smiled. "There’s no need to talk about the nineteenth floor."

"Why not?" Zhang Heping shouted. "We may not have participated in the nineteenth floor’s business, but we’re all part of the company now!"

"Yeah, Boss Su. We’re curious too. Did the nineteenth floor make at least ten or twenty thousand?" Shi Qi was dying of curiosity.

"I bet it’s at least twenty thousand. Boss Su’s buns are priced high, and customers eat them quickly. But no matter how much it is, it can’t be more than what the eight of us made. Twenty thousand has to be the limit!"

The eight fellow apprentices launched into another round of intense analysis.

In the end, they all agreed that Su Chen’s revenue from the nineteenth floor had to be somewhere in the high-ten-thousands to twenty-thousand range.

Su Chen smiled and nodded, then locked the tablet and tossed it to Liu Shengnan. "Everyone’s worked hard. Let’s have a simple meal for dinner, then everyone go home and get some good rest! If today’s any indication, tomorrow’s battle won’t be easy either!"

Ling Shuyu said, "Based on my projections, this wave of popularity will last for about a week. After that, it will start to fade and eventually stabilize."

This meant they wouldn’t be seeing daily sales of thirty-five thousand every day.

Su Chen did some quick mental math. If they could maintain steady daily sales in the high thousands, that would be pretty good. It would amount to over a million in revenue a year. A restaurant at that level would be a rare gem in all of Jingzhou.

Dinner was late, but the spread was lavish.

In reality, it was just the eight chefs each making their three assigned dishes again.

A dozen or so people eating thirty dishes, plus rice.

Dinner finally ended at eleven. Su Chen stretched and told everyone to go home and rest early.

He also made a point of telling Zhang Jiayi to make sure she dropped the fellow apprentices off at their hotel before heading home herself.

「After Su Chen left.」

Shi Qi grabbed Liu Shengnan, not letting her leave.

"Shengnan, come on, give us the scoop. How much did Boss Su’s nineteenth floor make?"

At his question, the other fellow apprentices also grew curious.

Wang Peixing was curious as well. "Yeah, Shengnan, tell us."

Old Er chimed in, "Boss Su probably didn’t want to say because the number wasn’t great. He’s gone now, and we’re all on the same team here. What’s there to be afraid of?"

"Exactly. We’re not going to think less of Boss Su if the revenue was low. Just let us see."

Liu Shengnan looked at the group of fellow apprentices with an extremely complicated expression.

"The boss told me not to say..."

"So what! We’re all friends here. Besides, we might end up working at Delicious in the future!"

"But... there’s a reason the boss told me not to say it..." Liu Shengnan stood her ground.

Shi Qi cleared his throat. "Shengnan, ah. Boss Su sincerely invited us to help, and we’ve been helping in earnest. If you can’t even tell us this, then... heh heh."

His deliberate posturing made the young Liu Shengnan feel uncertain.

But... Liu Shengnan agonized for a long moment. "Fine, I’ll let you take a look, but you have to promise me one thing."

"No problem!" the eight fellow apprentices said in unison.

"You have to promise me you’ll still come to work tomorrow at the time Boss Su set! No one can be late!"

"Of course not!"

"Exactly, how could we possibly be late? We’re more disciplined than that."

Seeing that everyone had given their word, Liu Shengnan finally unlocked her tablet.

"Here. See for yourselves."

Wang Peixing craned his neck to look and nodded in satisfaction. "It’s a little different from our guess, but not by much."

"Indeed. There isn’t much difference between twenty thousand and twenty-five thousand. Considering Boss Su’s prices per item, our guess was pretty accurate."

Several of them nodded in agreement.

Only Shi Qi was propping his chin on his hand. "Am I seeing things, or are you? Take a closer look. Where’s the decimal point?"

Wang Peixing looked down and stared hard, first freezing for a moment, then his face filled with utter disbelief!

He tapped his finger on the screen, counting. "Ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, ten thousands..."

"What the f—?"

"Holy shit?"

"No way, that’s impossible!"

"Holy fucking shit, with skills like these, why the hell would he bother running a company? Wouldn’t making tens of millions a year be better?"

"Is that really fucking two hundred and fifty thousand? Boss Su made two hundred and fifty thousand in revenue all by himself today?"

"Fuck me! Boss Su pulls in two hundred fifty thousand by himself, while the eight of us worked ourselves to death just to make thirty-five thousand? What’s the fucking point?!"

Liu Shengnan was dumbfounded.

’Boss Su was afraid you’d get triggered if you saw this revenue figure and just up and quit. But no, you just *had* to see it.’

’Now you’re triggered. Happy now?’

’Does your promise from just now mean nothing?’

The eight fellow apprentices, red-faced and fuming, shouted for a while before storming out of the company, cursing and muttering.
