The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse

Chapter 1781: Return of the Asura Race (8)

Queenie and her team expected the heavens to send down the usual beasts and tribulations.

However, what poured out was an army unlike any they had ever seen. Thousands, clad in the same design of armor, their backs straight and gazes filled with discipline.

Archers were in a separate line. Spearmen were the same, swordsmen, mages, and several others. Leading each group of warriors was a Pseudo-Primordial whose powers weren’t any weaker than those of the Pseudo-Primordial Lily had killed.

By the time all of them appeared, almost 60% of the Chaos Cave was covered by a thick pressure, the kind that contained the power of the Dao.

Just when the last of them appeared, the cracks in the sky vanished. Then, the void cracked before each army, and six people, each having the power of a Primordial, appeared, seated on majestic thrones.

These six people are the six leaders of the six ancient families.

The moment they appeared, everyone became tense. They clearly had no intention of helping Queenie and her teammates retain their confidence.

They brought their power down on them so much so that every last one of them felt like dying at this moment was a privilege they could not reject.

"Puny bugs, do you really think you have what it takes to face us Ancient Families?" Tikkun, the patriarch of the Tikkun Ancient Family, spoke, his expression showing mockery and disdain.

Seated on another throne was the patriarch of the Tarin Ancient Family, a handsome Elf whose aura of a Primordial had already started to send some of the beast warriors to sleep.

"You only have one way out of this. Stop the ritual to free the Asura race, and we will spare your lives. At best, some of you will be taken as slaves to serve us for a few million years."

The sheer density of pressure coming from them was just too much. But the moment Tarin spoke, almost everyone regained their confidence, and then they all exploded with anger.

Nari, known for her cluelessness even after she had managed to learn emotions, narrowed her eyes at the handsome Elf and smirked...

"You know, at first, I always mistook shamelessness for shamefulness. However, as I grow, I now understand what shamefulness is, and you, Mr. Long Ear, you are the definition of shamefulness." Nari laughed, her tone filled with pure anger.

"For someone backed by the heavens, I expected you to lower your strength to my level so we could have a mature conversation, but look at you. Even while still having your aura as a Primordial, which clearly says the heavens have no plans to punish you for it, you dare threaten to turn us into your slaves."

Every last one of her sisters unleashed their powers at the same time. "We are wives, friends, and subordinates of the Paragon. Do you really think we are scared of your puny family, huh, Mr. Long Ear?"

Tarin frowned so deeply that his handsome face started to look ugly. And the more he frowned, the more the pressure coming from him increased.

Asha, who is clearly the loud and sharp-mouthed one among her sisters, laughed, the mockery of it all causing all six patriarchs to frown even more.

"What a bunch of losers, thinking just because you have ’Ancient’ in your family name, you can dictate how the universe works."

Suddenly, an Elven warrior with the cultivation base of a Celestial exploded forward, his spear aimed at Nari, arriving before her in a flash.

His body trembled with anger so much so that he aimed to end her in order to wipe away the insult she had rained down on his patriarch.

However, just before his spear could reach within ten inches of Nari, she reached forward and blocked it with her index finger. Then, from the tip of her finger, a dark red flame appeared, enveloping the spear.

"Burn."

The flames expanded, and before the Celestial could react, he was consumed by the flames. His screams sent shivers down their spines.

Nari grinned. "Allow me to introduce myself properly. The name is Nari Hanson, the Dark Red Phoenix of the Three Universe Calamities. I bow to no one, not even the stupid heavens, so you either pack up and leave or burn if you wish."

The six patriarchs finally reacted, and their actions made their men feel some fear toward Nari.

"KILL HER NOW!"

Nyxaroth, the patriarch of the Nyxaroth Ancient Family, commanded, and from behind him, hundreds of demons jumped into action and rushed forward, their speed blinding.

However, they never got close to Nari, not even by a long shot.

Just as they moved, a ring of fire surrounded them, then it compressed, and as it moved, everyone touched by it was vaporised.

Flames soon engulfed the space, and from within, an amused voice spoke.

"How rude. After abandoning the universe, you dare show up to dictate who gets to live in it and who dies." From the burning flames, the Burning Angel appeared, holding a spear lit up in flames.

"Tell me, Ancient Families, are you here on your own accord, or did the heavens send you?" His question was simple: if they were here on their own terms, he would show them some mercy.

However, if the heavens sent them, then death was what awaited them.

After learning that it was the Heavens Court that murdered his family, which included his parents, his wife, and two children, the Burning Angel hated the heavens even more than Klaus, who is a paragon.

Instead of answering, Drakhar, the patriarch of the Drakhar Ancient Family, asked, "Are you the one called Burning Angel?"

"You haven’t answered my question, Long Tail." Instead of confirming his identity, the Burning Angel asked, his eyes narrowed at the draconic man whose aura was far more dreadful than those of the other five patriarchs.

"Arrogant, huh? Allow me to enlighten you, worm."

Drakhar exploded forward and punched, the void shattering as his fist moved.

Burning Angel stood there with a calm expression, his hand still gripping his spear. If one didn’t know him well, they would think he was scared of Drakhar, and as such, he was frozen in place.

However, those who looked closer saw a smirk appear at the corner of his lips just when Drakhar drew closer.

Drakhar sensed the danger in the smirk, but before he could react, the space around him shattered, and then he found himself standing inside a cage.

The shocking part, however, was that the other five patriarchs were also inside the cage, their expressions pale.

"Hahahahaha..." Blood-chilling laughter soon came from the sky, and then a void crack formed and blood started pouring out of it... "I like it when my plans come together."
