Chapter 134: Let’s Meet.

Amie parked her car at a distance, closing it tightly as she stared at the environment.

When Arnold asked to meet privately, she never thought it was going to be in this type of environment.

She moved slowly, looking around to see if anyone was watching her. Assured that there was no one, she walked towards the only building in the area, an old warehouse whose paint had already started fading.

She picked up her phone and messaged Arnold.

I am here.

Instantly, three dots appeared, and she got a response.

Looking at you, Ma’am. Move forward.

Amie walked faster. Something about the environment irked her.

Soon, she was face-to-face with the bald man.

The surroundings disgusted her. She felt as if something was crawling over her skin, and she glared at Arnold.

"What do you have to say? Why can’t we discuss this in a more suitable place? Why do we have to talk in a place like this?"

All Arnold did was shake his head as if Amie were a teenager who knew nothing about what she was talking about.

"Because we’re talking about something very important to the Vassaris, and we need to be as discreet as possible. When I decided to join hands with you, Ma’am, I already calculated the risk of betraying Mr. Vassari’s trust. This is the best I can do."

Amie thought about it for a while.

It was reasonable.

Growing up, she had seen her father kill men just for leaking information to rivals.

She knew exactly how much they cherished their information.

If Arnold was trying to leak something huge to her, then he was right for them to be careful.

"Okay, so what did you get?"

Arnold passed the file in his hand to her.

Amie collected it, her eyes dancing over it greedily.

She opened the file carefully. Though she couldn’t understand everything in it, the words and amount written on it seemed huge.

Her eyes widened, and she nodded slowly.

This was nice.

Her father would surely appreciate something like this.

She looked up at Arnold. "How did you get such information in such a short time?"

Arnold thought for a while, avoiding Amie’s gaze.

"There is always something happening in the group, so I just thought of bringing what I thought might be important. We can start with this first."

Amie focused on the details in the file and nodded.

Surely, big groups were always different.

Bagging this sort of deal regularly, it was no wonder they could splurge endlessly.

If her father could lay his hands on deals like this regularly, soon, the Trevor name would be feared again.

She nodded at Arnold.

"You won’t regret this."

After making sure there was no one watching them, Amie left his presence with the file carefully tucked under her arm.

Immediately she got into the car, she took pictures of the file and sent them to her father with a caption.

Your daughter did it.

She rested against the seat, taking a deep breath.

It was all thanks to her that her family’s situation was going to change, and not that stupid June.

Once she was done with all this, she would make sure to get back at June.

She hadn’t forgotten how June had stolen her man, and she wasn’t ready to leave him completely for her.

The thought of Rauf denying her at the party still hurt, but she needed to secure her inheritance before dealing with him.

Having the wealth of the Vassaris to back her up, Rauf would be nothing.

Just as she planned on starting her car, her phone rang.

Father.

A slow smile curled on her lips, and she picked it up, her voice filled with excitement.

"I did it, Father. I did it."

"Who gave you this?" her father asked.

The smile flattened on her lips.

"Does it matter how I got it? What matters is that I did."

"Shut up!" her father snapped. "Did you even look properly at what you sent me?"

Amie frowned.

"Of course I did."

"Then you should have noticed the name attached to the deal."

Amie quickly grabbed the file from the passenger seat and opened it.

"What about it?"

There was silence from the other end.

"I’ve heard of this man before," Samir finally said. "He doesn’t usually handle deals in New Central State."

Amie’s frown deepened.

"So?"

"So how did you suddenly get your hands on information about a ten-million-dollar deal involving him?"

A sudden wave of anger hit Amie.

"Who said it was sudden, Father? Do you know what I had to do to get this?"

"Amie, listen to me. Something isn’t right. We need to be sure before we make any move using this information."

The more her father spoke, the angrier Amie became.

It was hard for her to believe that her father would belittle her efforts just like that.

"Who gave you this information?" Samir asked again.

Before she could say something she might regret, Amie hung up on him.

She threw the file and her phone onto the passenger seat and screamed.

Her fists slammed against the steering wheel.

"Why can’t he just appreciate my effort for once? Do I have to suffer some kind of injury before he knows I actually went through a lot to get this?"

After exhausting her energy on the steering wheel, she dropped her head against it.

She was trying to calm her nerves when her gaze suddenly landed on the card Dante had given her.

She picked it up, her finger moving over his name.

She could still remember his promise to her.

If you need help with whatever you’re planning, you can contact me.

If he wasn’t interested in her, he wouldn’t have made that sort of promise.

And at the moment, Amie needed someone to relieve her frustration.

She punched his number into her phone and waited for him to pick up.

"Hello."

The deep voice sent a shiver through her in a similar way Rauf’s voice usually did.

And if Amie was being honest, she had been starved of sex and wouldn’t mind a one-night stand with someone as hot as Dante.

"Amie Vassari on the line."

Dante knew exactly who was calling.

He had been waiting to see whether she would use the number he’d given her.

"Amie," Dante repeated as if he had no idea who he was talking to.

Amie glared at the phone.

How could he have forgotten her?

"We met at the bar."

"Oh!" Dante said. "I think I remember. It’s good to see you finally called."

She smirked.

Of course. She wasn’t someone who could be easily forgotten.

But right now, she planned on making that even clearer to him.

"Let’s meet."
