The Mage's 5 Fated Alphas (BL)
Chapter 189: Setting up Stall
Axe scratched his ear.
"I told you I made a machete... Well, I made a few other things too. Let’s try our luck."
Ugo didn’t seem surprised.
He already knew about their plan. They had come up with it while Moon was cultivating in the Stardust Sanctuary.
Despite their arguments, they all knew they needed to unite when it came to the pride of a wolf being taken care of by his mate.
This couldn’t go on.
So the three of them had made a few small things to try out first. If the plan proved feasible, they could expand later.
Soon, they found a corner of the market.
They didn’t have much siki left, so they could only afford to rent this small space.
Axe and Nox started setting up the stall while Ugo arranged the tables and goods.
Moon looked around and found the items genuinely amusing.
He was also a little expectant.
If the stall really sold well, perhaps he could sell his pills there in the future too.
Depending on Levi wasn’t a long-term option.
Soon, the leather and cloth were neatly arranged to form a roof, and a box-shaped stall was set up underneath.
Ugo spread a piece of bright silver silk across the table. The obsidian-black weapons and formation plates looked striking against the shimmering cloth.
Lastly, Ugo took out a row of jars filled with colourful spheres.
Moon thought they looked familiar, so he leaned closer. When he realized what they were, the corners of his lips twitched.
Did Ugo really have to display beast cores in glass jars this beautifully? They even came in different colours: red, green, sea green, blue, and cyan.
Moon needed plenty of cores to refine pills himself, so he examined them carefully before putting them down.
"When did you hunt so many beasts? There are at least ten here."
"When I went to look for ingredients for the pills." Ugo shrugged and took out several bundles of medicinal herbs.
Seeing Moon’s expression, he reassured him, "Don’t worry. There are plenty inside the Lost Realm. These are just a few, and they aren’t that different from those found in Monalis. So, it’s safer to sell them."
Moon nodded.
He sat on a stool to the side, but even after half an hour, nobody had bought anything.
Nobody seemed interested.
The market was crowded, but people only glanced at their goods before moving on.
There were dozens of stalls selling weapons, herbs, and travel equipment. Compared with those merchants, their little corner looked rather unimpressive. As new sellers, they naturally had little credibility.
Nox leaned on the pillar and sighed.
"Perhaps we should have painted a few skulls and wolves on the sign."
Axe gave him a sideways glance. "Paint your own face. That should attract enough attention."
"Your mouth is getting more poisonous every day." Nox rolled his eyes, but a moment later, his gaze drifted toward the passing crowd.
Then he smiled.
"Actually, that’s not a bad idea."
He grinned and straightened up.
Then he casually rolled up his sleeves to show his lean, well-shaped forearms. He put on a beautiful silver bracelet that glinted against his skin.
Then he leaned against the table, one arm folded across his chest, while the other hand lazily twiddled his chin.
He had a naturally slender build, but lean muscle.
His shoulders were firm, his waist narrow. As he stood there like a lover waiting for his dearest, his movements were graceful and friendly.
Not to mention he was smiling that foolish smile of his.
Moon rolled his eyes, seeing the man’s effortlessly flirty look.
Nox’s black hair fell loosely around his face, and his bright eyes followed the passing crowd.
Whenever someone glanced his way, he returned the look with an easy smile, as if they were already acquainted.
A few young women passing by couldn’t help looking twice. One nudged her companion and whispered something behind her hand.
Nox caught them looking and raised his wrist slightly.
"Ladies, would you like to have a look? We have beautiful new bracelets today. I’m sure any of them would look more beautiful on your hand."
The girls exchanged glances, giggling, but the one in front soon stepped closer.
Seeing her approach, Nox immediately took off the bracelet and held it out to her.
"Would you like to try it? It’s not only beautiful, but it has a hidden secret."
The girl raised her eyebrows. "Really?"
She put it on her wrist and turned her hand from side to side, admiring the silver glimmer.
"It’s beautiful."
"Isn’t it?" Nox smiled.
The girls grew curious. "What is the hidden secret?"
"It can release a pressure that affects the surrounding area for five seconds. If you’ve already awakened your wolf, you can use your soul power to activate it in danger. The bracelet releases an alpha-like pressure, giving you a chance to escape."
"Really? How many times can it be used?"
The girls around her moved closer, their curiosity piqued.
"Three times. But you can also store an alpha’s presence in it later and use it again."
"Heh! As always, cheating a naive little girl, aren’t you, Nox? Have you really sunk so low that you’re selling things by deceiving girls?"
A mocking voice suddenly came from the side.
Nox frowned, and so did the girl.
What did he mean by ’little girl’? She had already awakened her wolf!
"Stay out of my business, Liam!" Nox gritted his teeth.
He had finally found a customer, and trouble had appeared before he could even make a sale.
"Did I say anything wrong?" Liam sneered.
"Alpha pressure? Do you think alpha pressure is some toy you can hold in your hand? And refilling it? What kind of nonsense are you trying to sell?"
He turned to the girl and spoke gently.
"Miss, don’t buy some random fraudulent item. Have you ever heard of anything like this before?"
The girl hesitated.
She had indeed never heard of such a thing, and she wasn’t sure how soul power could be used to activate it.
