Chapter 209: Transformation Pill

Moon’s brows rose high with amusement.

’So these wolves really do have some human sense! It wasn’t just my imagination.’

He took out a small knife and slowly approached Leo.

To make sure the wolf wouldn’t suddenly attack him, Moon first let Leo lick his palm.

Then he carefully placed the knife against his leg and paused, watching for any reaction.

"Ah, just bind him with a spiritual net and cut his leg! What are you touching and checking?" Xiao Hong said impatiently.

"Cut your as... Watch your mouth! The hell? As if wolves aren’t human!" Lupine growled from beside the table.

"Wolves are wolves," the Ghost Master corrected him.

"You shut up! You’re a wolf, too. Protect our humanity!"

Moon waved his other hand.

"Master, don’t shout. I’m not going to cut him randomly."

He spoke calmly before examining Leo’s leg more carefully.

After finding a spot that seemed less painful, he used the tip of the knife to make a small cut and collect a little blood.

Throughout the entire process, Leo didn’t even flinch.

It wasn’t that Moon didn’t want to hurt Leo.

It was just that tonight was the full moon, and after mating with Nox last night, he knew these werewolves were becoming extremely restless.

It was better not to provoke them today.

That was why he had taken so much care.

After collecting enough blood, Moon put the knife away and applied some herbal paste to the small cut. Only then did he return to the platform.

He looked at the blood he had collected and nodded to himself.

’This should be enough.’

He arranged everything neatly, then spread spirit stones from Lupine Palace around the platform.

Since they didn’t have an unlimited supply, he placed only as many as he thought he would need to recover his spiritual energy.

Then he took out a tiny amount of Spirit Heart Water.

After thinking for a moment, he decided to replace the Gengjin Spirit Marrow with the Iridescent Golden Lotus petals.

He also took out the Seven-Leaf Shapeshifting Fern from his mother’s spatial necklace.

It was extremely rare, and he only had one seven-leaf fern.

He carefully removed a leaf and divided it into three smaller pieces.

If he were refining the original formula, he might have needed entire leaves. But this was only a lesser transformation pill.

With everything prepared, Moon cleaned the cauldron and sent his flame inside.

He began refining the mutated Golden-beaked Razor Flamingo cores.

His hand seals moved steadily as the tiny ember spark heated the cauldron. The cores trembled, then slowly broke down, releasing wisps of dark energy.

Moon frowned and increased his spiritual qi.

The dark energy gradually faded, leaving behind a pure liquid. He carefully guided it through the purification process until only the essence remained.

Next, he refined the pieces of the Seven-Leaf Shapeshifting Fern several times before grinding them into powder.

He then carefully refined and purified the Iridescent Golden Lotus petals.

Once those were ready, he added the Amomila Crest Flower and the remaining auxiliary ingredients before mixing in the human and werewolf blood.

The moment the blood entered the mixture, it began to bubble.

Moon watched every change inside the cauldron with his divine sense.

A faint golden light flickered through the dark liquid before disappearing.

He waited, but nothing else happened.

Moon carefully added a tiny drop of Spirit Heart Water.

The mixture glimmered for a moment before beginning to take shape under his hand seals.

The flame danced with his hand seal, and the blue-green flame spread evenly all over the cauldron, allowing the ingredients to merge completely before forming the pill mold.

His hand seals accelerated as he divided the mold into three portions.

The tiny ember spark flickered beneath the cauldron, and beads of sweat formed on Moon’s forehead.

He gritted his teeth and poured more spiritual qi into the flame.

Finally, the three pills took shape.

Moon drew out his soul dew and coated them before completing the final hand seal.

"PSSST...!

Three emerald-green pills shot out of the cauldron.

As he caught them, a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding finally escaped his mouth.

He was surprised that the cauldron hadn’t exploded.

Moon examined the pills carefully.

Low grade.

But he wasn’t disappointed.

This was his first attempt, and he had managed to refine all three pills without a single one exploding. That alone was a good start.

Lupine and the others had gathered nearby at some point, craning their necks to look at the pills.

"You actually made it." Hollow rubbed his chin beneath his dark hood.

"Let me see." Lupine took one of the pills from Moon’s hand.

Both he and Ghost Master Hollow were true divine beasts.

Although they had been born with the ability to shapeshift, that didn’t make them any less interested in pills of this kind.

"You have this talent in you, Moon. Even a grandmaster would have trouble refining this kind of pill!" Lupine laughed heartily.

He was genuinely impressed.

Moon scratched his neck shyly. "It’s not a true transformation pill. It’s a lesser transformation pill, meant only to stimulate a dormant spirit."

"Don’t be so humble. Be proud of yourself. It’s still a transformation pill, even if it’s a lesser one." Lupine examined it carefully before humming in approval.

"I think this one will do. I don’t see any problems."

Moon, however, was troubled.

He needed someone to test it, but he couldn’t simply find anyone and force them to swallow an experimental pill.

"Why don’t we take out one of those shadow guards?" Lupine suggested.

Moon suddenly remembered that he actually had people inside the Lost Realm.

"What if they die?" he asked.

It was his first time testing a pill on a human, and he couldn’t help feeling guilty.

"They were supposed to die anyway," Lupine scoffed.

But Moon couldn’t smile.

Killing someone with a single blow was one thing.

Torturing them to death was another.

He didn’t think the shadow guards deserved to suffer a slow death, since they only act on orders.

"They’ve already lost their minds. What could be worse?" Lupine said.
