The Shining Star Above The Heaven
Chapter 1320: The Temple Grandmaster’s Frustration
In another part of the Sacred Temple domain, a group of Aldrian’s followers was already wreaking havoc in one of the tower cities on the northeastern side.
Three figures with peak Immortal Saint stage cultivation easily defeated anyone who went against them.
The leader of the group was a man who used a halberd as his weapon. He had long brown hair tied in a ponytail and wore a blue and white robe.
Every sweep of his halberd always claimed a victim’s soul. No defensive measure could stop any of his halberd attacks.
His other two companions were a man and a woman.
The man was a young-looking man with a bulky build. He only used his fists to claim his enemies’ lives. Every time he threw a punch, a strong gust of wind followed by trembling space sent someone’s soul to the underworld.
The woman was a beautiful mature woman with long black hair. She wore an elegant purple dress and used the ice element as her killing method.
She could make people freeze to death without anyone knowing how she did it. Their bodies would suddenly turn white, as if they had frozen from the inside.
With their presence, more than twenty Immortal Saint cultivators of the temple had died. As for those below that level, the temple had lost even more.
As the battle continued in the skies above the city, they killed more cultivators, and the leader of the group said to his two companions,
“Let’s end the fun here. We still need to go to the other cities and take control of them. Don’t let His Majesty carry the heavy burden alone for too long.”
“Alright,” the man and the woman replied.
The leader then swept his halberd once, killing the enemies surrounding him, before lifting it toward the sky. The space around the halberd suddenly became distorted, as though space itself could not withstand the power contained within it.
The man then swung the halberd vertically toward the temple complex.
At that moment, a powerful force instantly slashed through space, cutting down everyone in its path toward the tower. Everyone caught in its path was killed, their bodies instantly destroyed. Spatial cracks appeared along the path of the force, and it all happened so fast.
It only took one second for the attack to reach the temple complex and the tower. The complex instantly split into two along with the tower. The defensive barrier that had already been activated was useless against the attack. It instantly shattered.
The tower collapsed, and the temple complex was heavily damaged by the split.
But Aldrian’s followers still did not stop there. After destroying the tower, the woman unleashed her ice-element technique.
Suddenly, the temperature throughout the temple dropped drastically, and the complex was quickly covered in ice and snow. Everything inside the complex froze solid.
The burly man continued killing the others still floating in the sky, and he did it with even greater vigor. He knew that he had to be fast, as they were running out of time here.
After a few moments, there was no one left to attack them anymore. Seeing that no one dared to go against them again, the leader then shouted to everyone watching them.
“From this moment on, this city is under the control of the Great Emperor, the true ruler of the heavens. All of you need only comply, and your lives will not be disturbed.”
Many still looked reluctant, but no one dared to raise their voices. After witnessing the battle, they knew those cultivators were far too powerful for all of them to handle. Even the Immortal Saints of the city, along with the reinforcements from outside, had been killed by them with ease.
Aldrian’s followers then moved to their next target through the teleportation gate.

While the Sacred Temple Domain was being attacked from two sides, in the capital of the domain, the Temple Grandmaster could no longer maintain his calm demeanor. His face was filled with fury, and his fists were tightly clenched.
The reports that continuously came to him showed the severity of the situation in the Second Heaven.
One by one, territories fell under the rebels’ control, and worse, his own domain had also come under attack, with two tower cities already on the brink of falling.
The worst news came with a mysterious man who had suddenly appeared near the Central Region of Heaven.
That mysterious figure continued approaching the center of the heaven, forcing him to order the remaining patrolling units and all nearby forces to stop that figure.
‘Those bastards! How dare they? Do they not realize that whatever they do will ultimately fail as long as reinforcements from the Higher Heavens continue to descend? And their enemies will not only be God Avargis but also the other gods in the alliance. All of them will send their own reinforcements.’ The Grandmaster thought, filled with irritation.
‘But they should know this as well, so why did they still choose to make this kind of move now? Why?’ The Grandmaster narrowed his eyes.
After a few moments, his frown deepened.
‘Don’t tell me… they have something that makes them confident they can withstand the reinforcements from the Higher Heavens?’ When he reached this conclusion, his expression turned solemn, even grim.
If that were the case, then it would be extremely dangerous for his god’s control over the Second Heaven!
If that were the case, then as the most important region in the Second Heaven, they had to ensure that the Central Region of Heaven did not fall into the rebels’ hands!
If the Central Region of Heaven fell, then there was a high chance that the Second Heaven could be completely isolated from the reinforcements of the Higher Heavens!
Although the Grandmaster still felt that possibility was extremely small, as the reinforcements from the Higher Heavens would be overwhelmingly superior not only in numbers but also in cultivation level, the fact that the rebels dared to do something like this meant they were not afraid of those reinforcements.
He did not want to underestimate what the rebels were capable of, as he had never known the full extent of their strength in the Second Heaven, especially the mysterious groups that had arrived from the First Heaven.
‘Maybe the recent incident in the First Heaven, where no one has been able to descend, was their doing? The fact that they managed to ascend shows they have a secret method to do that.’
If the rebels really could hold off the reinforcements from the Higher Heavens, then that could spell the doom of Avargis’ followers in the Second Heaven!
That mysterious man near the Central Region of Heaven was said to be impossible to harm despite many Immortal Saints continuously attacking him. It was as though he were inside an extremely powerful barrier that would not break no matter what attack struck it.
‘Is he the one the envoys have been looking for?’
The Grandmaster gritted his teeth.
‘If that is the case, then I have to make some sacrifices. The most important thing is to stop him from taking control of the Central Region of Heaven.’
He then closed his eyes, and his mind connected to one of his subordinates outside the hall.
“I want you to spread my order to all the territories in the nearby domains that can still receive my command and still have Immortal Saint cultivators to spare. Have them come to the Central Region of Heaven immediately and assist the forces there in defending it. Their main target is a lone intruder who is currently in the Central Region of Heaven.”
“Yes, Your Eminence,” the other party replied.
After giving the order, he once again thought about the situation across the Second Heaven.
The rebels seemed too strong for the temple’s cultivators to fight, which made him both angry and confused.
Based on the information he had received, it appeared that many of those rebels had ascended from the First Heaven.
However, the fact that all of them had already reached peak Immortal Saint stage was a clear sign that they were actually cultivators from the Higher Heavens who had sealed their own cultivation so they could descend to the First Heaven.
And they had already been lying in wait in the First Heaven for who knew how long.
This could explain their absurd strength, but it would also be the worst possible type of enemy he could face.
He did not know the true extent of the rebels’ power from the Higher Heavens.
Some of them might even be gods.
The lack of information was what troubled him the most at this moment. He still did not know the full extent of the damage across the Second Heaven, nor did he know the rebels’ complete strength.
He did not know anything.
‘Damn it!’ The Grandmaster thought in frustration.
He had already been wary of the rebels’ movements when he declared the total war, but he still had not expected the rebels to dare make a move like this, much less one on such a massive scale!
‘Fuck! To think I still underestimated the rebels’ true power. I was truly careless. They have enough power to overthrow us if they want to. I never thought they had already infiltrated us this deeply. They must have been planning this for a long time.’
He could not help but curse repeatedly. But then he took a deep breath and slowly let it out, forcing himself to calm down.
After calming himself, his expression became focused.
‘It’s no use continuing to curse. It looks like I need to move personally and see the situation for myself.’ He then walked out of the hall.
‘For now, let’s see the situation in the Central Region of Heaven first. That is the most important thing. I will deal with the rest later.’
