Chapter 106: 106 The Formation Completed

106

The Formation Completed

Yun Che remained completely still.

"Three races against one?"

"Yes."

"How large was this army?"

"We don’t know the exact number, but everything indicated that it was an army of approximately fifty thousand."

"Fifty thousand is an enormous army to attack a race that, until then, had been the weakest of the three. But then, what did they encounter?"

Ariselle looked directly at him.

"Someone who had reached a realm above the Profound Nascence."

Yun Che’s eyes immediately narrowed in silent realization.

"True Profound."

Ariselle nodded.

"Exactly."

Yun Che spent several seconds organizing his thoughts before slowly shaking his head in disbelief.

"That should be impossible."

Ariselle did not answer.

"In this secret realm, no one should be able to reach a realm higher than the Profound Nascence. That is so certain that people from outside who had surpassed the Profound Nascence could not enter."

He pointed at the ground.

"That’s why every powerful cultivator we’ve encountered is at the tenth level of the Profound Nascence."

"You."

"The four Elders."

"Lian Yue among the human cultivators."

Yun Che frowned.

"Everyone is trapped at this limit by the laws governing this secret realm."

Ariselle nodded.

"I know."

"Then how did someone reach the True Profound?"

"We don’t know how it was achieved or what methods the Earth Elementals used. What we do know is that the method came from the Earth Emperor’s inheritance."

Yun Che stared at Ariselle as she continued explaining:

"We only know that it happened."

"During that battle, someone appeared."

"After that, three races entered the territory of the Earth Elementals."

"And only one returned."

Yun Che slowly ran his fingers along his chin.

"If someone really reached the True Profound within this realm..."

He paused.

"Why didn’t that person conquer everything?"

Ariselle remained silent for a few seconds before answering.

"That question was asked by every race."

"For a long time, everyone feared exactly that possibility."

She slowly walked across the room.

"Some races began preparing."

"Some began accumulating resources."

"Others simply waited."

"Everyone thought that sooner or later, that person would leave their territory and begin conquering the rest of the secret realm."

Yun Che looked at her.

"And that never happened."

"No."

"How long?"

Ariselle answered:

"Fifteen years."

Yun Che remained motionless.

"Fifteen years?"

"Yes."

"So that person remained inside the Earth Elementals’ territory for all that time?"

"We don’t know for certain. Only the Earth Elementals themselves could give us a clear answer. We can only speculate that this is what happened."

Ariselle slowly shook her head.

"We don’t even know if that person is still alive."

"But for fifteen years, nothing happened."

Yun Che began to think.

Fifteen years.

A person who had broken through the limit of the secret realm.

A race that had managed to obtain a powerful inheritance.

And yet, the Earth Elementals had never attempted to conquer the other races.

The Earth Elementals had found the loophole that my system identified within Rafael’s inheritance, and I intend to use it.

Yun Che turned his eyes toward the enormous formation.

So the Earth Elementals had used something similar.

"I understand."

Ariselle looked at him.

"Understand what?"

Yun Che did not answer. Instead, he walked toward another section of the formation and knelt down.

He placed two fingers over one of the spiritual lines and closed his eyes.

His spiritual vision activated once again, and this time, dozens of energy channels appeared before him.

Energy was circulating throughout the formation as the system began issuing notifications.

[Energy channel identified.]

[Redirecting flow.]

[Redirecting spiritual energy to the central circuit.]

Yun Che moved his hand as the energy changed direction.

[Correct flow.]

[Next circuit.]

Ariselle silently watched everything happening, afraid that distracting him would cause everything to explode.

After a few seconds, she finally asked:

"Did you discover something?"

Yun Che continued working.

"Yes. A hidden secret."

"About the Earth Elementals?"

"About the reason they never left their territory."

Ariselle’s expression became more serious.

"You know?"

"I have an idea why."

He adjusted another circuit, and a blue light swept across the floor.

"But I’m not certain yet."

Ariselle approached him.

"Then tell me."

Yun Che raised his eyes.

"We don’t have time for that right now."

She frowned slightly.

"We don’t?"

"First, I need to confirm something, and we still have a lot to do."

Ariselle continued staring at him, while Yun Che turned his attention back to the formation.

[Energy channel stabilized.]

[Thirty-two percent of the formation completed.]

Yun Che took a deep breath.

There was still a lot left to do, but the formation was beginning to take shape.

Ariselle finally realized that she would not be able to get any more information from him at that moment.

She looked at the dozens of circuits spread across the floor.

"How long until you completely finish assembling the formation’s internal circuits?"

Yun Che remained focused.

"Not long."

"How long is not long?"

"Not much longer."

He looked at her.

"You said the army is already standing before the mountain range, didn’t you?"

"Yes."

"Then we don’t have much time left."

Ariselle slowly nodded.

"Any explanation can wait until afterward."

He pointed toward one of the formation’s lines.

"Right now, I need to finish this."

Ariselle watched him for several minutes before finally asking:

"What should I do to help you?"

Yun Che pointed toward three different points in the formation that were rippling with energy.

"When I tell you, release your profound energy into these three points."

Ariselle looked at the marks.

"Why? Won’t that cause a distortion and make it explode?"

"Because those are the activation points. You don’t need to worry about it exploding. My control is surgical."

"And if I make a mistake?"

Yun Che answered without even looking at her.

"You won’t."

Ariselle remained silent as a small smile appeared on her face.

"You speak as if you’re far too certain about everything."

Yun Che continued working.

"I’m not certain."

He raised his eyes.

"I simply don’t intend to fail."

Ariselle stared intently at the man for several seconds before turning her attention back to the enormous formation.

Outside the mausoleum, the distant sounds of battle began to pass through the ancient walls.

Screams and explosions.

The clash of profound energies.

The war had finally begun.

But inside the tenth floor of the Mausoleum of the Great Alchemist Rafael, Yun Che continued working in silence.
