Chapter 114: 114 death in the south of the Mountain Range

114 death in the south of the Mountain Range

Her voice was low, but the survivors heard her.

"...stay behind me."

One warrior responded:

"Elder..."

Vaelra tightened her grip on the sword.

"As long as I am standing, no one will cross this line."

Gorvak advanced as fast as an arrow, the enemy leader’s spiritual energy exploding outward.

Vaelra also released her own energy.

Blood continued flowing from her wounds.

Her body was severely injured, but she remained standing.

Behind her, only two hundred Medusas were still breathing.

The north of the mountain range was covered with corpses.

On the other battlefield, the situation was completely different.

**"

South of the Medusa mountain range.

An explosion shook the mountainside, causing a huge rock to be torn from the ground and roll down the slope, crushing two Lizardman soldiers before disappearing into the smoke.

The battlefield no longer looked like a defensive position.

Now, it was nothing more than a cemetery.

The corpses of Medusas, Beastmen, Lizardmen, and wild beasts were scattered among the rocks.

Their bodies still wore pieces of armor that had broken during the battle.

Some of them, however, had been crushed against the rocks, with blood running down the slopes.

Some wild beasts still remained on the battlefield, and one of them staggered forward with an arrow piercing its neck.

Other beasts desperately tore at the body of a fallen warrior.

Higher up, Nysara dodged a spear that grazed her face before striking a rock formation behind her.

The stone exploded at the same time Nysara spun through the air and landed on a small stone platform.

The characteristic light armor worn by Medusa warriors, formed by metal plates that protected her chest, shoulders, and part of her arms, protected her beautiful figure.

Her long serpentine hair was covered in dust and blood, and beside her, Kaelia dropped to one knee.

Blood flowed from her shoulder as the young Medusa took a deep breath.

Both of her hands remained free, as she preferred her fists over any weapon. A thin layer of spiritual energy snaked around her arms and enveloped her fists.

Standing before the two of them were Kareth, Nyra, Veyra, and Drazek, the four enemy generals at the tenth level of the Profound Nascence Realm.

Kareth, a Lizardwoman with dark-blue scales, held a long sword covered in spiritual energy.

Nyra wore green scale armor over her chest and wielded a long spear.

Veyra wore dark armor reinforced at the shoulders and held a broad-bladed sword.

Drazek carried a heavy war spear and had a body covered in thick gray scales.

Behind them, thousands of soldiers continued advancing.

Even though their numbers had been significantly reduced, they still possessed an overwhelming numerical advantage.

At that moment, only around seven hundred Medusas remained fighting in the south.

Nysara quickly looked behind her.

The surviving Medusas were scattered across the slopes.

Even so, they continued fighting.

A young Medusa raised her sword to block a Beastman.

The impact nearly tore the weapon from her hand.

She spun her leg and struck the enemy’s knee, causing him to fall.

Another warrior immediately appeared and pierced his chest.

Farther away, three Medusas tried to protect an injured companion while Lizardmen advanced toward them.

Nysara clenched her teeth.

The battle was turning into a struggle for survival.

She turned her eyes toward the four generals.

"Kaelia."

"I’m here, Elder."

"Don’t let any of them reach our warriors."

Kaelia wiped the blood from her lips.

"Don’t worry, Elder. As long as I’m breathing, none of them will get past me."

Kareth raised a sword taken from a Medusa warrior who had been killed sometime earlier.

Bluish spiritual energy began wrapping around the blade.

"You two will die here today."

Nysara calmly replied:

"Keep dreaming. Remember my words. I will personally behead every one of you."

Kareth charged, her body shooting forward like an arrow.

Spiritual energy exploded beneath her feet, increasing her speed.

At the same time, Nysara raised her arm.

The impact sent a wave of energy across the mountainside, dragging Nysara several meters across the rocks.

Kareth swung her sword again, the blade descending toward the Elder’s neck.

Nysara lowered her body in an acrobatic movement, and the sword passed over her head.

She advanced beneath the attack and concentrated spiritual energy into her palm.

Her hand struck Kareth’s abdomen, sending the Lizardwoman several steps backward.

Her body crashed through the rocks, and before she could regain her balance, Nysara appeared before her.

Her leg spun gracefully.

The blow struck Kareth’s chest, damaging several scales.

Blood flowed between the broken plates.

Kareth spat blood, but Nyra had already arrived.

The Lizardwoman advanced with her spear.

The tip was wrapped in a concentrated layer of spiritual energy.

Nysara tilted her body.

The spear passed beside her waist.

She then grabbed the shaft and pulled, causing Nyra to lose her balance.

At the same instant, Kaelia appeared from above, her body spinning through the air with style and ferocity.

Spiritual energy concentrated around her leg, and her heel struck Nyra’s face.

The commander was sent crashing into a stone wall.

The thick rock wall cracked around her body.

Kaelia landed gently.

"One is taken care of."

Nysara looked at her.

"Don’t count your victory before it’s over."

Veyra, meanwhile, advanced.

Her sword descended directly toward Kaelia, who immediately crossed her arms in a defensive stance.

A layer of spiritual energy covered her body.

The blow brutally smashed against her defense.

She was dragged several meters backward, stones carving grooves beneath her feet.

She did not fall, but blood still appeared in her mouth.

Veyra smiled.

"You’re much stronger than I expected."

Kaelia slowly stood up.

"Hmph."

The spiritual energy around her arms increased, causing Veyra to narrow her eyes.

Kaelia disappeared at high speed.

The next instant, she appeared beside Veyra, her fist striking the commander’s ribs.

CRACK!

Veyra lost the air in her lungs.

Kaelia did not stop.

A second blow struck her face with all the strength she could gather in her fists.

Blood sprayed like a jet.

The third blow struck directly against her chest with such force that her armor cracked.

Veyra tried to block this time, but it was already too late.

Kaelia grabbed her arm and channeled spiritual energy through her own body, refining her next movement, which was almost invisible.

At the same time, she spun into a fluid and aggressive attack.

Veyra was slammed into the ground with such force that a huge crater formed.
