Chapter 98: 98 The Supreme Necromancer

The Supreme Necromancer

The first thing Yun Che noticed when he woke up was the smell of medicinal herbs.

It was a strong scent, mixed with the faint smell of blood and spiritual energy.

For a few seconds, he remained still, staring at the stone ceiling above him.

His hand immediately moved toward his face. His fingers touched the smooth surface of the white mask. It was still there.

Yun Che let out a long sigh.

"Great..."

Only then did he realize where he was.

For a moment, Yun Che thought he had returned to the Profound Flower Sect and was in the Massage House. When he opened his eyes, he had expected to see Mei Liang.

However, he was in a medical room within the Medusas’ territory, still inside the secret realm.

When Yun Che tried to sit up, his body responded slowly. At that moment, a familiar window appeared before his eyes.

[All available Lust Points have been used to accelerate the recovery of the Apocalyptic Knights.]

Another line appeared.

[Recovery complete.]

[All Apocalyptic Knights can be summoned at any time.]

[Current state: Maximum recovery.]

Yun Che slightly relaxed his shoulders.

"So they’re fine."

A second notification appeared before he could close the first one.

[Insufficient Lust Points.]

[The user’s spiritual core requires stabilization.]

[Recommendation: Dual Cultivation.]

Yun Che slightly frowned.

"Again?"

"Even now..."

He closed the window, but as soon as he did, he realized that he was not alone.

Sitting near the wall was a young Medusa. Her eyes were fixed on him.

The small snakes in her hair had risen the instant Yun Che woke up.

Seraphina.

The princess remained silent for a few seconds before finally speaking.

"You’ve awakened."

Yun Che slowly turned his head.

"How long have I been asleep?"

Seraphina took a deep breath.

"Two days."

Yun Che’s eyes narrowed.

"Two days?"

"Yes."

He remained thoughtful for a few seconds.

"Then tell me what happened while I was asleep."

Seraphina approached the bed.

Her expression was different from the one Yun Che had known before. There was concern in her eyes, but there was also something heavier.

"A lot happened while you were asleep. We won the battle at the strait."

Yun Che raised his eyes. Seraphina continued speaking:

"The forces that entered the passage were destroyed. Generals Varkhan and Rhaena died during the battle, along with thousands of Beastmen and Lizardmen."

Yun Che remained still, paying close attention to every word. The princess continued explaining:

"It wasn’t a victory without a price. We lost many warriors from our army."

"How many casualties?"

"Almost two thousand."

Yun Che’s expression became more serious. It was a number he had already expected considering the number of enemies. Seraphina clenched her hands.

"Of the approximately seven thousand combatants who had been prepared to fight, just over five thousand remain now."

Silence filled the room.

"And what is the situation on the enemy’s side?"

Seraphina took a deep breath.

"We know that you killed one of the tenth-stage Profound Nascent generals."

"Maeron."

She nodded.

"Yes. You also destroyed an entire logistics base by yourself."

Seraphina looked directly at him.

"More than six thousand enemies died in that battle."

Yun Che did not respond.

"Adding that to the battle at the strait, approximately twelve thousand enemy cultivators have been killed."

He calculated mentally.

"Then..."

Yun Che raised his eyes.

"Out of more than thirty thousand, around eighteen thousand remain, right?"

"Yes."

"And of the fifteen tenth-stage generals..."

Seraphina answered immediately:

"Three died. Twelve remain."

Yun Che slowly exhaled the breath he had been holding.

"Twelve thousand dead."

He looked at Seraphina.

"Then why are you making that expression?"

The princess fell silent. Yun Che continued:

"The Medusas and I reduced the enemy army from more than thirty thousand to approximately eighteen thousand. Three of the fifteen generals were killed."

He paused briefly.

"You should be celebrating."

Seraphina lowered her eyes.

"We should, but... there are still eighteen thousand enemies surrounding the mountain range."

Yun Che did not respond.

"Eighteen thousand soldiers are still an enormous army," she continued. "And twelve tenth-stage Profound Nascent cultivators are still alive."

She clenched her fingers.

"And we lost almost two thousand warriors."

Her voice became lower.

"There is no reason to celebrate."

Yun Che observed the princess for several seconds.

"Then tell me the rest. It seems like that’s not the only thing bothering you."

Seraphina raised her face.

"After the Lizardmen and Beastmen discovered that the barrier existed and that three new Medusa cultivators had reached the tenth stage of the Profound Nascent realm..."

She hesitated.

"They came to a conclusion."

"What conclusion did they reach? Don’t tell me..."

"That the inheritance of the Great Alchemist Rafael had been obtained."

Yun Che remained still.

"And what do they intend to do?"

"Take the mountain range."

"Only that?"

Seraphina shook her head.

"They want the inheritance and everything else they can take from us."

Yun Che narrowed his eyes.

"So they found out."

"Yes."

"How?"

"We don’t know."

Yun Che remained silent for a few seconds.

"Continue."

Seraphina took a deep breath.

"The Lizardmen and Beastmen asked the Earth Elementals and Fire Elementals for help."

Yun Che immediately asked:

"I thought they would remain peaceful and passive unless they were attacked. Did the Earth Elementals agree to fight?"

"No."

"Then what did they do?"

"I don’t know what kind of agreement they made with the enemy army, but..."

Seraphina looked away for a moment.

"But the army received various resources from the Earth Elementals."

Yun Che became completely attentive.

"The Earth Elementals provided artifacts, food, weapons, and various resources."

"Artifacts?"

"Yes."

Seraphina nodded.

"They also explained to the Lizardmen and Beastmen how to destroy the barrier surrounding the entire mountain range."

Yun Che’s expression changed.

"And the Fire Elementals?"

The princess took a few seconds to answer.

"They sent eight Fire Elementals to reinforce the enemy army."

Yun Che frowned.

"How many?"

"Eight."

"And all of them are at the tenth stage of the Profound Nascent realm?"

Yun Che’s expression finally changed. Seraphina continued:

"They’ve arrived."

Yun Che fell silent.

"At this exact moment, there are twenty tenth-stage Profound Nascent cultivators attacking the barrier covering the entire mountain range, and judging by the damage already caused, the barrier will collapse soon."

Yun Che slowly turned his head.
