Tara shivered all over, and Marcus’s face suddenly darkened. He lowered his eyes and opened the news, watching the latest report without saying a word.

"But I’m already married to Marcus." Tara felt a wave of fear, unable to imagine what it would be like to marry Caspian. That man deceived her, imprisoned her, harmed her father, and now he wants to marry her to restore his reputation?

A flash of anger crossed Tara’s eyes.

"The Yarn Family doesn’t know about your marriage to Marcus. Caspian is still daydreaming. If you ask me, the Shaw Family wants to shake off this big trouble. You can help the Shaw Family by shifting the blame, let them remember your favor. After all, you’re already married, so it’s not a loss."

Marcus rejected firmly: "No way."

Yeats Howard: "Then what do you propose? We can’t just say you two eloped and got married."

Marcus: "Why not? Just say that."

The enormous lie Caspian told a year ago, Marcus didn’t intend to shatter. As long as it could cover up Tara’s year of imprisonment and spare her from gossip, Marcus didn’t mind being the man who eloped. Luckily, his movements from a year ago were erratic, making it difficult for outsiders to investigate.

Yeats was dumbfounded.

Tara was somewhat touched, her eyes moist as she looked at Marcus. She reached out and gently tugged his hand, slightly playfully holding onto his little fingertip.

Marcus’s face softened as her soft hand touched him. He clasped her hand back, giving her a comforting gaze.

"Just say you two are true love and eloped for love, sounds pretty passionate too." Yeats murmured.

"Hmm." Marcus’s gaze flickered with a hint of cold light.

Things don’t always go as one wishes. The pit Caspian dug for himself a year ago has now turned into a bitter fruit he’s reaping. From now on, Tara will have nothing to do with him. He should thank Caspian for giving him a lovely, tender wife.

"Leave this to me. I’ll find influencers to expose the news, get the internet trolls on it. This is what I do best." Yeats said excitedly.

"Thanks. Stay for dinner." Marcus said.

"Alright, I’ve listed all the dishes I want to eat." Yeats quickly pulled out a note from his pocket, smiling brightly.

It listed ten dishes, all substantial. Marcus was speechless.

Tara glared at Yeats. Clearly, he was here to freeload.

"I’ll handle the ingredients. I’ve already ordered them, they’ll be delivered in an hour." Yeats chuckled, then started working.

An hour later, fresh ingredients arrived at the courtyard, and at the same time, the major news of the Yarn-Shaw scandal took a new turn.

The gossipers of the Imperial City, especially the prestigious circles, after experiencing the Yarn family scion leaving with a stranger, the Shaw family breakup, Caspian claiming he was kidnapped, then exposing he was marrying his former fiancée for true love, now saw the influencers reveal that the former fiancée had already eloped for love long ago, both parties have registered and made their marriage official, while the Yarn family is forcefully staging drama, jumping around to garner sympathy.

The gossipers: "???"

Big news! The most pitiful man ever, former fiancée abandons you, current fiancée backs out.

Soon, internet trolls began to blatantly tear into Caspian.

"Bringing out the ex-girlfriend to save face, disrupting others’ families. It’s mind-blowing!"

"Disappearing for one night then claiming to be kidnapped. Straight-up drama queen!"

"The woman is so pitiful, abandoned at the engagement party. No matter what the man says, he’s a scumbag."

A large wave of internet trolls controlled the online narrative, then some relevant departments secretly disclosed that Caspian’s ex-girlfriend was indeed married, having checked the system records.

Their narrative was overwhelmingly one-sided.

Yeats put all his effort into controlling the narrative for a meal, while the Yarn family looked livid. The great situation was overturned in less than an hour, and Tara was actually married?

Caspian was just investigating Tara’s whereabouts when he learned she was married to that nobody Marcus. His face turned dark as iron, determined to bind Tara regardless, hoping he could stir enough trouble to get Tara to divorce that guy.

Caspian sneered, Tara had truly only disappeared for a few months. If the other party knew about Tara’s past and her imprisonment, he couldn’t believe the man would be unaffected.

Caspian looked at the investigated data, Marcus was just a retired soldier. What power could he have? Today, he’ll go meet him.

While online discussions were in full swing, Caspian brought along Mr. and Mrs. Yarn, skipping lunch, and headed to the courtyard.
