the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart
Chapter 1673: Coming to Steal the Bride
Since there was nothing to do in the morning, Marcus Quinn saw that little Aden had eaten only a small bowl of porridge before running off to play with the little robot. He decided to start cooking early.
With Yeats Howard’s menu in hand, Marcus Quinn didn’t need to worry about what dishes to make. He simply used the ingredients that had been delivered and within half an hour, he had made eight dishes. The remaining two dishes were stews that took longer, so he planned to have them for dinner.
The three of them happily started their lunch. Because Yeats Howard had a craving and brought over ingredients to share meals every day, even little Aden got to try many dishes she hadn’t had before. Previously, she hadn’t thought much of it, but after tasting Marcus Quinn’s cooking, she realized that being married to a chef truly filled life with a sense of ceremony and happiness.
Although they had a chef at home, and her father would occasionally cook for her, it always felt different from when Marcus Quinn cooked for her.
After they all ate to their satisfaction, Marcus Quinn went to do the dishes, Yeats Howard basked in the sun in the yard, and little Aden went online to check the sales of their shop over the days they’d been in the Imperial City.
In recent days, Uncle Spencer and the others continued catching green crabs, but the river at the bottom of the mountain was nearly fished out. There were still some halfway up the mountain, but this back and forth took more time, so green crabs were supplied for sale daily.
Certain food lovers, especially those who love crab, tend to find it more addictive the more they eat. Every time the green crabs were stocked, they would sell out immediately. Additionally, wild fish and forest fruits also sold exceptionally well, and whenever Irving Spencer had time, he would message them in the group chat to come back and provide emergency supply.
The Holiday Village’s reputation was also spreading slowly, and daily revenue remained quite respectable. Weekends saw a peak in room bookings, and everything was getting on track. However, since the facilities around the village hadn’t developed yet, they weren’t spending money on advertising.
Aden watched the sales figures and glowing reviews rise steadily, her face blossoming into a smile. Occasionally, there would be damages during transport, but as long as customers provided feedback, the Holiday Village would resend the items free of charge, thereby gaining plenty of good will.
“Irving, have the chestnuts been shelled yet?” Aden tagged Irving in the group chat.
Irving: “Not so fast, it takes about one to two weeks to shell them.”
Aden asked Lord Yeats Howard beside her, “Do you like eating chestnuts?”
“Yes, I do.”
“Then I’ll send you fifty pounds from the Holiday Village.” Aden was worried about selling the chestnuts since there were too many. Even if one made chestnut-braised chicken, how many chestnuts could they use? Unless they sold them to shops that made candied chestnuts.
Yeats Howard: “Fifty pounds is too much.”
Aden: “They’re not selling, help us resell them.”
Yeats Howard: “…”
“Are you kidding? How could chestnuts not sell? Aren’t all the Holiday Village’s products fresh, green, and harmless?”
“Yes, they are.” Aden’s mind started whirring quickly. She looked at Yeats Howard, waiting for him to continue.
“Then why don’t you set up a shop in the Imperial City? Doesn’t Marcus Quinn still have a Fragrance Tower among his assets? Although the restaurant’s reputation was ruined while in the hands of the Duncan Family, with Marcus Quinn here, the unsold produce would have an outlet.” Yeats Howard rolled his eyes.
Aden was stunned—indeed, she hadn’t thought of reclaiming the restaurant, a time-honored establishment. If they took back the restaurant, renovated, and reopened, not only could they recover Father Quinn’s legacy, but also solve the problem of unsold goods from the Holiday Village.
“You’re a genius!” Aden excitedly gave Yeats Howard a thumbs up and said, “If the restaurant reopens, remember to bring your friends to support us.”
“I’ll only go if Marcus Quinn is cooking.” Yeats Howard replied with a cheeky grin.
Aden was speechless, was he dreaming? Marcus Quinn could only come to the Imperial City to cook for two or three days at most per month, did he want to work him to death?
Aden ignored Yeats Howard, ran to her bedroom to find a notebook and pen, and sat in the yard to start budgeting. As long as they renovated and advertised, then hired chefs to promote the green dining concept, with Marcus Quinn occasionally visiting the Imperial City to oversee, and considering the property was their own, staffing costs wouldn’t be high, it was essentially a sure profit.
Aden calculated and found it more feasible. The only trouble now was figuring out how to negotiate with the Duncan Family to get the restaurant back. It seemed she needed to find time to have a meal there to understand the current situation of the restaurant.
Just as Aden was immersed in her calculations, the standby-mode little robot suddenly spoke, “Aden, there’s a visitor. Koko has detected no threat.”
Yeats Howard’s eyes widened in surprise, huh, it’s not just a cleaning robot, maybe he should get one too.
