Tara stood up and saw the ajar door of the courtyard being pushed open, leading the way was Caspian Yarn.

Tara’s expression changed slightly, then she saw Mr. and Mrs. Yarn, whom she hadn’t seen for over a year, following behind. As soon as they saw Tara, they approached eagerly, exclaiming, "Tara, where have you been all this time? You’ve worried your Uncle Yarn and me sick."

After staying up all night at the Shaw’s third house without closing her eyes, Mrs. Yarn learned that the marriage with the Shaw Family was not going through, leaving her in utter disbelief, her face filled with worry, and deep nasolabial lines etched into her cheeks. Even as she tried to express goodwill, her features revealed a bitterness.

Tara had never seen Mrs. Yarn like this before. When she was engaged to Caspian Yarn back in the day, Mrs. Yarn had specially called her over for a lecture, with an air of superiority like a mother-in-law. Reflecting on the events from yesterday to today, she became instantly wary.

"Tara, I’ve finally found you." Caspian Yarn also stepped forward excitedly, seeing that even without makeup, her face was pure and beautiful, sweet and lovely, he was genuinely moved.

"Who are you people? Marcus, someone is trying to take your wife." Yeats Howard raised his chin to the sky, completely disassociating himself and then fanning the flames as he shouted for Marcus.

Caspian Yarn: "..."

"Mr. Howard, Tara is my fiancée. I am just here to see her; there’s nothing inappropriate about it."

As they spoke, Marcus Quinn emerged from the kitchen, having finished washing the dishes and made a fresh pot of tea, which was just fruit tea meant only for Tara.

Marcus came out expressionless, poured Tara a cup and said gently, "Lunch was too greasy, drink some tea to cut the grease."

Seeing him come out, Tara instantly felt reassured, took the fruit tea and gave a sweet smile, completely ignoring the Yarn family.

The Yarn family turned livid, Mrs. Yarn couldn’t swallow her anger and was about to reprimand Tara, but was stopped by a stern glare from Mr. Yarn.

"Mr. Quinn, we’ve met once before." Caspian Yarn’s pupils contracted slightly when he saw their interaction. No wonder he didn’t like this man when he first met him; it turns out it was him.

"Hmm." Marcus, seeing Tara sitting obediently with a teacup, then turned to the Yarn family and said blandly, "I heard the Yarn Family is also a prestigious family in Seacoast. If visiting, please send an invitation. If trespassing, please turn around and leave. Thank you."

Caspian Yarn’s eye twitched, this poor guy was indeed putting on airs with him.

"The Yarn Family and the Chase Family are old friends; I am engaged to Tara, so we don’t need these formalities. Mr. Quinn, since you’re so knowledgeable about etiquette, why did you ruin Tara’s reputation, elope with her causing her to wander outside for over a year, afraid to return home, and not even see her father for the last time?" Caspian Yarn questioned loudly.

"Tara, do you know the current situation with the Chase Family? Your father’s lifetime of hard work has been taken away by your aunt and second uncle’s family. Come back to Seacoast with me, and I’ll help you reclaim what’s rightfully yours."

Caspian Yarn spoke with righteous indignation, leaving Tara dumbfounded. If she didn’t know Marcus very well, she might have suspected Marcus had deceived her, as Caspian was completely unrelated to her disappearance!

This was completely twisting the facts and pretending to be a good person.

"Pff." Yeats Howard chuckled on the side, seeing Marcus’s livid face, rolled his eyes; he really was no good with words! After he said a sentence, the rival said countless others. Softening one’s mouth after eating someone else’s food, he had to humble himself and act as the troublemaker!

"Caspian Yarn, instead of courting Lana Shaw, what are you doing spewing nonsense to my sister-in-law? The matters of the Chase Family don’t seem to be your business, do they? With all these lawsuits, what are you doing running to my brother’s house? Playing the homewrecker? Well then, see you on the trending searches; making you famous is just a matter of minutes." Yeats Howard sneered mockingly.

Caspian Yarn almost coughed up blood; before coming in, he hadn’t realized Marcus was the man he coincidentally met a few days ago. The name had slipped from his ear and forgotten. Who would have thought he was connected to the Howard Family, truly shooting himself in the foot.

Caspian Yarn was so angry his face went pale; Mrs. Yarn, who hadn’t been in Imperial City long, didn’t know Yeats Howard’s identity and immediately exploded, yelling, "What are you, do you have the right to speak here? Our family and the Chase Family have a legitimate marriage agreement, Tara eloped, she has to come back to Seacoast with us. Even if we annul the engagement, it’s her fault first, nothing to do with our family."

Yeats Howard, affronted, looked at the aunt in front of him, almost sprayed in the face with her spittle, and his expression turned unpleasant. If she weren’t a woman, he would’ve acted long ago. When there’s a chance for a fight, he absolutely wouldn’t just argue.
