"Enough." Marcus Quinn said in a deep voice, looking at Caspian Yarn coldly, "To tell you the truth, the reason Miss Shaw broke off the engagement with you was my doing. Caspian Yarn, don’t you have a clue about what you’ve done? I’ve been married to Adern for a long time. You’re not welcome here. Leave now."

Just a few words from Marcus Quinn made cold sweat break out on Caspian Yarn. Have things been exposed? He instinctively looked at Adern, seeing her holding a teacup and sitting behind Marcus Quinn, her face cold, no longer the sweet, shy girl she used to be.

Caspian Yarn felt a chill in his heart. Does she know everything? But they have no evidence; who would believe it if this were spread around?

"Adern, I honestly don’t know what happened. I searched for you for over a year and only then did I hopelessly get engaged to Lana Shaw. You must believe me."

Adern’s gaze turned slightly cold. He had been involved with Lana Shaw for over a year. If his feelings were truly deep, would he have been in the mood for romance right after her disappearance?

Both she and her father misjudged him. When the engagement with the Yarn Family was made, her father had a long talk with her, saying that Caspian Yarn was ambitious and shrewd in dealing with people, although he had some affection for her, businessmen are profit-driven, urging her to reconsider carefully.

At that time, she was deceived by his refined and handsome appearance. Caspian Yarn would sweet-talk her, causing her, inexperienced in the ways of the world, to fall deeply into the trap. If not for the year of dark imprisonment that destroyed all her innocence and nearly cost her life, she would have been manipulated by Caspian Yarn, lost in this false love for the rest of her life.

"I’ve married Marcus Quinn. Indeed, we had an engagement back then, but I’m married, and you’re engaged to someone else. From now on, we marry separately and have nothing to do with each other. My father is gone, and let this engagement be annulled." Adern said calmly.

"No way, though your dad is dead, the marriage isn’t for you to decide. Aren’t there your aunt and uncle? Whether to cancel the engagement should be decided by the elders. Otherwise, return the dowry our Yarn Family gave back then." Mother Yarn firmly denied.

"What dowry? Did your family give a dowry back then?" Adern’s face became unpleasant. She had never heard of such a matter of dowry, and if her aunt and uncle decided, she might be forced to divorce Marcus Quinn and marry into the Yarn Family!

"Of course, we gave." Mother Yarn said proudly, since Father Shen is dead, whatever dowry was given or how much was given is naturally up to them to claim. Dare to dump her son? She will make them pay to the point of ruin.

"Mom, don’t say anymore." Caspian Yarn’s gaze flickered, suddenly understanding Mother Yarn’s intention. Afraid she’d say more, the dowry issue needs to be discussed at home to decide. Anyway, it’s Marcus Quinn who ruined his marriage to Lana Shaw and also married Adern, so this debt should be settled with Marcus Quinn.

"Adern, it’s good to see you’re alright. So much has happened these days; everyone’s emotions aren’t good. We’ll leave for now and visit you in a few days." Caspian Yarn said, glancing at the silent Father Yarn before dragging Mother Yarn away, one on each side.

They may not be able to deal with the Shaw Family, but that doesn’t mean they can’t deal with Adern. This matter needs long-term planning, best to contact Adern’s aunt and uncle, a glint of malice appeared in Caspian Yarn’s eyes.

"If you don’t leave now, I might just grab a broom to chase you off." Yeats Howard sneered.

He’s completely inept at verbal sparring.

The Yarn Family came quickly and left quickly. Adern lowered her eyes, furrowing her brow, saying nothing.

Marcus Quinn reached out to hold her small hand, saying, "We’re going back to the Holiday Village tomorrow."

Adern remained silent, still contemplating the dowry issue. If the Yarn Family demanded exorbitantly, could they just eat this loss?

"I want to go back too, but I’m afraid they’ll follow us to the Holiday Village." Adern dared not underestimate the shamelessness of the Yarn Family. She felt somewhat despondent, originally coming with Marcus Quinn joyfully to prepare for their wedding, yet ended up attending an engagement party that unveiled the Duncan Family matters and also entangled with the Yarn Family.

She could only console herself that at least they rescued the young lady from the Shaw Family from the pit of fire.

"Then let’s solve the matter before going back." Marcus Quinn said sternly, looking at Yeats Howard.

Yeats Howard immediately jumped up, laughed, and said, "Tell me, should we deal with the Duncan Family or the Yarn Family, I’m fine with either."
