The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth
Chapter 292: Heart Dream Mirror, the Illusory Dream Wizard's Astonishment
Chapter 292: Chapter 184: Heart Dream Mirror, the Illusory Dream Wizard’s Astonishment
‘I’ve bled for you for a month. You’d better not disappoint me.’
Wang Ya’s pupils shimmered with a fine, deep blue light. From the red metal ring, he took out the metal box it contained.
It took up his entire desk.
HISS!
Steam with a sci-fi feel billowed out as the lid of the box slowly rose. As more steam escaped, the contents were revealed.
It was a bronze mirror, complete with a reflective surface, a frame, and a handle. The surface was perfectly smooth. It looked like it was made of bronze, but in reality, the materials were highly complex—a blend of Extraordinary Metals.
This was the pinnacle of craftsmanship, a technique only the Divine Blood Wizard could master. Wang Ya had personally witnessed him smelt a mountain of Extraordinary Materials into this small mirror.
It contained a great number of Techniques—thirty-six in total. They all connected to a single core, forming a balanced, cyclical system.
As for what Extraordinary Abilities it possessed… when the Divine Blood Wizard handed over the Extraordinary Witchcraft Artifact, his expression was quite peculiar. He looked like he wanted to say something but held himself back.
In the end, he only said one thing, “This is something you’ll have to find the answer to yourself. It belongs to you, and no one can tell you what that means.”
The number of Techniques determined a Witchcraft Artifact’s potential and the number of abilities it possessed, which also served as an indicator of its power and Grade.
Generally speaking, nine, eighteen, and thirty-six Techniques corresponded to Low-tier, Middle-tier, and High-tier Witchcraft Artifacts, respectively.
With thirty-six Techniques, this artifact could be considered among the most outstanding and promising of High-tier Witchcraft Artifacts.
Witchcraft Artifacts could be modified to add more Techniques, but this placed extremely high demands on an Alchemy Wizard.
Most importantly, Wang Ya’s Extraordinary Witchcraft Artifact was a Growth-type. It was intimately connected to its Wizard, bearing his blood and bone, as well as his Soul Brand and Spiritual Brand.
The Techniques inside Wizard Yi Si’s Unstable Magic Cube were on the verge of Sublimation. It was likely also an upgradeable Growth-type Witchcraft Artifact. If its Sublimation succeeded, it would become a Level 1 Sublimation Witchcraft Artifact.
Without Sublimation, it could only be considered a High-tier Witchcraft Artifact.
A Magic Core constructed from thirty-six Techniques was one of the qualifications for achieving Sublimation.
As for how to perform the Sublimation later, the corresponding Wizard would need to advance to the rank of Official Wizard before they would have the power to complete the process.
Of course, one could also choose to have an Official Wizard help with the Sublimation process, but there was a significant risk of failure.
Furthermore, the Growth-type Witchcraft Artifact would be completely ruined if it failed.
A Core Witchcraft Artifact was the very essence of a Wizard; another Wizard could not be allowed to interfere with it in the slightest.
This was true even for Wizards from the same lineage.
He stared at the Brass Mirror’s surface. Though it appeared to be covered in grime, it clearly reflected Wang Ya’s face.
A profound, unseen connection compelled Wang Ya to pick up the Brass Mirror. As he touched it, a gentle warmth spread through his hand.
It felt incredibly familiar, like an extension of his own arm.
Wang Ya immediately knew the Brass Mirror’s name. ‘Heart Dream Mirror.’
Three simple words.
A very simple name.
But the Abilities it possessed were anything but simple. They were enough to startle even Wang Ya.
The moment he learned the Heart Dream Mirror’s name, Wang Ya also knew what its Abilities were.
He didn’t even need to use his Eye of Truth to analyze it.
Perhaps out of habit, his pupils still shimmered with that fine, deep blue light.
[Target: Heart Dream Mirror]
[Details: A Growth-type Witchcraft Artifact forged by the Divine Blood Wizard. It has been fused with your blood and bone, and imprinted with your Soul Brand and Spiritual Brand. It has belonged to you from the moment of its creation.]
[Extraordinary Abilities: ‘Dream Mirror,’ ‘Hand of Dual Dreams,’ ‘Shadow of Foam,’ ‘Dream Heart’]
[‘Dream Mirror’: Used in conjunction with your Dream Witchcraft. The Brass Mirror Surface can display scenes from the Dream Realm. It can house your Dream Territory, store and retrieve items from the Dream World, and allow you to enter and exit the Dream Territory at will.]
Wang Ya’s eyes lit up. ‘A good Ability. It directly fulfills one of my old ideas—to carry the Dream Territory with me.’ It now had the Traits of both the Maple Forest and Heart Dream Lake, but it was no longer confined to a single, immobile location.
[‘Hand of Dual Dreams’: Used in conjunction with your Dream Witchcraft. The Brass Mirror can display scenes from the Dream Realm. You can use your hands to alter the Dream World at any time, bringing others sweet dreams or nightmares. The choice is in your hands.]
[‘Shadow of Foam’: As long as a corner of the Dream Realm exists, you can maintain the Shadow of Foam State. It can absorb an enemy’s attack and redirect it into your Dream Territory.]
This was an even more terrifying Ability. Combined with Wang Ya’s Dream Witchcraft, it would become a true Nightmare for his enemies.
However, it had its limits. First, the absorbed attack must be one that Wang Ya’s Dream Territory could withstand. If the attack was too powerful and destabilized the Dream Territory, causing problems for the Dream Core, the cost would outweigh the benefit.
This could be mitigated by his Dream Foam Witchcraft. After all, his Dream Territory was filled with the countless Dream Foams he had woven.
[‘Dream Heart’: As long as the Heart Dream Mirror’s Magic Core is active, it will maintain a constant connection to the Dream World. As long as a corner of the Dream Realm does not vanish, the Dream Gap will be permanently maintained within the Heart Dream Mirror.]
It was like having a permanent passive ability. Wang Ya no longer needed to bother opening the Dream Gap and could use his Dream Witchcraft at any time. Combined with Harak’s Infinite Black Core Ability and the Black Soul within it, this meant Wang Ya effectively always had access to a corner of the Dream Realm.
A near-perfect synergy had formed, resulting in a significant boost to Wang Ya’s Power.
Wang Ya gently tapped the Brass Mirror. Ripples spread across its surface, and the reflection of his face transformed into a scene of the Heart Dream Lake.
Swathes of maple leaves danced in the air, and fish still leaped frantically from the water. The figure of the Illusory Dream Wizard stood on the shore, his fishing rod hanging low. He seemed to sense something and looked in Wang Ya’s direction.
He said irritably, “You’ve gotten bold, haven’t you? Spying on your Teacher now.”
Wang Ya paused for a moment, then smiled. “I knew I couldn’t hide it from you, Teacher.”
Then, his hands glowing with a white light, he plunged them directly into the mirror’s surface and pulled out the Dark-colored Wizard Robe.
To be precise, he had taken it from the table behind the Illusory Dream Wizard.
The Illusory Dream Wizard glanced at the strange hands, but beneath his Wooden Mask, he was smiling.
‘This disciple of mine has given me so many surprises.’
In terms of Power, with his Core Witchcraft Artifact, Wang Ya probably had no equal among Level 3 Wizard Apprentices.
Not even veteran Level 3 Wizard Apprentices like Wind Walk, Lando, or Gusai could hope to defeat him now.
The Illusory Dream Wizard trusted his own judgment; he knew he wasn’t mistaken.
Wang Ya grasped the Shadow Robe and closed the image on the Heart Dream Mirror. His eyes were bright and full of spirit.
All the pieces were in place; he was just waiting for the final trigger.
And that trigger was the Antuun Clan’s response.
He didn’t have much patience to spare.
The matter of the Black Sun Ruins couldn’t be delayed for long.
He also had to advance his progress on transforming the properties of his Particle Energy.
Increasing both his physical body and his Spiritual Power would take a great deal of time, but it was something that had to be done.
Fortunately, the news didn’t take long to arrive.
The Antuun Clan sent word the very next morning.
