The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth
Chapter 301: Burning Fire Attachment, Nothing is Impossible
Victor had no time to react. The Extreme Wizard Apprentice who launched the ambush had hidden himself too well—it was something he’d never anticipated.
When the attack was finally revealed, he could only make one choice.
Either he could save Komore and protect him…
…or he could use his Witchcraft to escape, but Komore would certainly die.
This was a premeditated scheme, one that even accounted for his speed threshold as a Wind Element Wizard.
‘Who on earth is behind this scheme?’
‘It’s truly terrifying.’
In that instant, Victor understood everything. Both the Beast Tide and the Extreme Wizard Apprentice who used blue threads were nothing more than a diversion.
The final killing blow was meant for this very moment.
A decisive blow to utterly crush them.
Victor’s expression turned grim. ‘Forcing me to choose?’
‘Do I even have a choice?’
A torrential wave of Energy completely submerged Victor and the surrounding area.
…..
‘Something’s wrong!’
‘Something is very wrong. I haven’t let the Eye of Ten Thousand Tribulations behind me disappear. I’ve been maintaining it this whole time, even though it continuously consumes my Particle Energy.’
He had personally seen that Fire Element Wizard die under his Myriad Self Void Technique.
‘And why haven’t the Oby Brothers or Victor reacted to a battle of this magnitude? Where did they go?’
Komore stared down at Licorice Camp. Figures of Wizards still bustled about. The battle fluctuations had been so immense that the top of the Circular Tower had shattered… Komore’s pupils constricted. He seemed to understand something.
‘I’m still in the Dream World! This is a deep-level dream… Are you kidding me?’
Komore’s expression was incredibly grim, but then he heard a CRACK.
Cracks appeared across everything—Licorice Camp, the Circular Tower, even the night sky.
The next moment, the world shattered.
Komore opened his eyes. A light breeze brushed against his cheeks. This time, he wasn’t standing on the Circular Tower. Instead, he found himself in the middle of some ruins.
Burning Energy Flames licked at collapsed buildings everywhere. Mutilated corpses, torn apart by Extraordinary Creatures, littered the ground. Wails of agony rose and fell amidst the roar of the expanding flames.
A Beast Tide was ravaging Licorice Camp. When Komore looked toward the Circular Tower, he saw that it was already in ruins.
‘Is this real?’
Komore was still uncertain. A sense of dread toward the unknown Dream Wizard crept into his heart.
‘His methods are simply too bizarre.’
Such mastery of Dream Witchcraft was simply unheard of.
He had never encountered a Dream Wizard like this, not even in the Black Tower.
Multiple layers of dreams… one shatters only to reveal another, making it impossible to distinguish reality from illusion.
Komore believed this had to be reality, because he could feel the fluctuations of Extreme Wizard Apprentices battling from every direction.
Among them was the familiar presence of Victor, and he could tell Oby Gao was fighting a Blood Wizard.
Oby Duo and Oby Shao were a little farther from Licorice Camp, facing the main force of the Beast Tide, which surprisingly included several Beast Kings.
‘Victor must have placed me here before going to face the enemy.’
Komore’s face twisted in a ferocious scowl. This was an utter humiliation! He had never suffered such a setback, to be attacked right on his own doorstep.
And he still didn’t even know who the enemy was.
“Who’s there?!”
Komore gripped the Thousand Flower Sword in his right hand, his gaze fixed on a figure in a black Wizard Robe emerging from the Energy Flames.
An unforgettable figure.
“It’s you,” Komore said, easily connecting the details. “You walk two Wizard Paths: Dream Wizard and Elemental Wizard.”
Wang Ya didn’t answer. Beneath the White Lotus Mask, his eyes were chillingly cold. His raised right hand also gripped a Short Blade.
After being modified by a Divine Blood Wizard, the Shadow Slayer Blade now contained 22 Techniques, placing it in the category of a High-tier Witchcraft Artifact.
Its original Extraordinary Properties were not only retained but further enhanced. It gained an increased capacity to withstand Particle Energy, making it a High-tier Witchcraft Artifact that even an Official Wizard could wield.
As Particle Energy was injected into it, the blade of the Shadow Slayer Blade began to extend, growing from twenty centimeters to about a meter in length.
Komore’s figure vanished. He reappeared, swinging the Thousand Flower Sword in a vertical chop from above, his highly condensed Ten Thousand Tribulations Particle Energy packed into the strike.
BOOM!
A massive crater, a full thirty meters wide, was blasted into the ground. The destructive power of the Ten Thousand Tribulations Particle Energy was terrifying.
Leaping into midair, Wang Ya held the Shadow Slayer Blade, which was now wreathed in a fiery light, resonating with his Flame Demon Doppelganger State.
Then, the fiery light began to recede into the weapon, revealing the blade itself. Its once-smooth surface was now covered in scorched, black, crack-like marks.
Komore’s pupils constricted. He felt a sense of dread emanating from the blade.
‘Are you kidding me?’ he thought. ‘My Thousand Flower Sword is a Core Witchcraft Artifact, a growth-type one at that, and it’s even empowered by Ten Thousand Tribulations Particle Energy!’
A Ten Thousand Tribulations Sword Wave, shaped like a cross, enveloped the area around Wang Ya.
The Energy Wings on his back flapped as he shot forward, thrusting his sword straight ahead. His speed was immense, and a Shield formed from Ten Thousand Tribulations Particle Energy protected his entire body.
Not even a Middle-tier Witchcraft could hope to break the Ten Thousand Tribulations Particle Energy Shield.
This was the absolute advantage of a Special Particle Energy; the boost it provided to one’s Power was enormous.
Komore had never imagined he could lose to a Wizard from the Outer Zone. The fact that his opponent walked two Wizard Paths was surprising, but that was all it should have been.
On the path of the Elemental Wizard, Wang Ya possessed three High-tier Witchcrafts.
One was Sun Flame Steaming Kill, a high-damage, area-of-effect Witchcraft with Traits that allowed it to wantonly release Fire Element Particle Energy, evaporating everything with extreme heat.
The other two High-tier Witchcrafts were Flaming Sun Fire Clothing and Burning Fire Attachment.
To use either of these two Witchcrafts, Wang Ya would have to consume ninety percent of his total Particle Energy, and their duration was very short.
It wasn’t a matter of having insufficient Particle Energy; their power was so terrifying that even he couldn’t withstand it for long. If he maintained them for too long, he would be killed by his own Witchcraft.
Now, all the fiery light, including the effect of his Flame Demon Witchcraft, vanished. It was as if everything had converged into the Shadow Slayer Blade in his hand.
The black, scorched marks on the blade grew more numerous, the cracks seeming to spread until they formed a spiderweb-like pattern.
Facing the so-called Ten Thousand Tribulations Sword Wave and Komore’s immediate follow-up thrust… Wang Ya raised his right hand and swung his blade down fiercely onto the thirty-meter gray sword wave.
“Idiot!” Komore sneered, looking at Wang Ya as if he were already a dead man.
‘Trying to block Ten Thousand Tribulations Particle Energy with ordinary Particle Energy? He’s asking to die.’
However, something bizarre happened. The portion of the sword wave that came into contact with the Shadow Slayer Blade vanished without a trace, not making the slightest sound.
It was just like how his own Ten Thousand Tribulations Particle Energy destroyed all matter and Witchcraft.
Komore’s eyes widened at the sight, his face a mask of pure shock. “That’s impossible!!”
CLANG!
The sound of metal on metal rang out.
The tip of the Shadow Slayer Blade met the tip of the Thousand Flower Sword. Tiny sparks flew, then quickly died.
‘Are you kidding me?’ Komore was shaken to the core. ‘That unremarkable-looking blade actually clashed with my Thousand Flower Sword without being destroyed.’
His Ten Thousand Tribulations Particle Energy was the bane of all Witchcraft Artifacts, possessing immense destructive power against physical matter.
He had never encountered anything like this before.
In that moment, the pressure he felt from this unknown Wizard was even greater than that from the genius Wizards of the Black Tower.
