The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth
Chapter 329 Wang Ya vs. Duoguyin, Dominant Suppression
Besides, the coincidence was just too obvious.
“No matter what, I have to get to White Lake Wizard City as fast as possible. I hope I can make it in time.”
Sul sighed, her stunning face creased with a frown, even though she knew the odds were slim.
If nothing had gone wrong, there should be five Extreme Wizard Apprentices in White Lake Wizard City, especially with Beta Berkeley and the other Wizards from the Berkeley Clan there.
…
“I actually teleported inside the Wizard City. I’m screwed. I don’t see any sign of the others.”
As Lando Wizard tumbled out of the void, he happened to land inside a Wizard Mansion.
The soft mattress cushioned his fall, and he even had a moment to stretch lazily.
The longer Lando Wizard lay there, the less he wanted to get up. He yawned and said in a lazy voice, “Perhaps this is fate. It must mean I’m supposed to rest for a bit and recover my Particle Energy.”
The mansion’s owner, a Level 2 Wizard Apprentice, was on edge, terrified that those crazed Wild Wizards would break in.
Many Wizard businesses and shops had been ravaged by the Wild Wizards. The shop-owning Wizards were killed, and their Wizard Waiters met the same fate.
The thought made Bob the witch grind his teeth in hatred. ‘What the hell is going on?’
Those fiends were wearing the Face of Residual Dreams, so you couldn’t tell who was who. Perhaps even some of the original shop-owning Wizards had joined in the looting.
It was also possible they were originally harmless caravan Wizards. There were too many possibilities.
He had cranked the Wizard Mansion’s Witch Array to its maximum setting, but it offered so little protection that a single Witchcraft spell would likely destroy it.
After all, the Witch Array’s main function was to serve as a warning, not for protection.
All Bob the witch could do was pray. He wasn’t skilled in combat, and his Wizard Waiters had all fled long ago.
Ever since he was born, White Lake Wizard City had been peaceful under the rules of the Dark Land; there had never been any incidents.
How had everything suddenly changed today?
Bob the witch couldn’t adapt. He was terrified, his Spirit frayed and jumpy, as he hid in the innermost room on the highest floor of the Wizard Mansion.
He monitored the various areas of the Wizard Mansion through the images projected by the Supervision Crystal Ball.
After watching for a long time, Bob the witch grew tired. When he pushed open the door to the master bedroom, his expression froze, and his eyes filled with terror.
“You… you…”
Lando Wizard yawned. Reclining on the bed, he gave a little wave to Bob the witch, who was standing in the doorway. “Hey there, Wizard Proprietor.”
A shrill, womanly scream escaped from Bob the witch’s mouth. The middle-aged Wizard, over two hundred years old, hugged himself with both arms and stared in terror at the figure in the black Wizard Robe on the bed.
…
Rod Stark stood atop a tall building, his expression grim and tinged with anger as he gazed down at the chaos in White Lake Wizard City.
He had visited White Lake Wizard City once before, and it had not been this dilapidated and ruined.
Most importantly, the Stark Clan had business interests here.
But their Wizard Shops had all been looted and set on fire. The number of casualties was still unknown.
This was an entire street belonging to the Stark Clan!
The revenue from this area accounted for almost a tenth of the entire Stark Clan’s income.
His gaze locked onto the end of Stark Street. Fury surged through him as he saw Wild Wizards still ganging up to attack his Stark Clan’s Wizard Shops.
He was a genius Wizard from the Direct Lineage, the one most likely to become the future head of the Stark Clan.
“You bastards, violating the rules of the Dark Land! I’ll sentence you all to death!”
…
Wang Ya moved through the streets of the inner city, sticking to secluded alleys and avoiding the areas dense with Wizard Shops.
‘The City Lord’s Mansion should still be standing.’ The Protective Witch Array was a failsafe, a Witch Array designed to activate automatically if the City Defense Witch Array failed or was breached. It drew Energy from the Earth Veins to sustain a Particle Energy Shield capable of momentarily blocking even the Witchcraft of an Official Wizard.
If the Protective Witch Array was active, it meant the Wizards in the City Lord’s Mansion still had some strength left.
There was still hope for White Lake Wizard City.
HISS!
The sound of a snake’s hiss echoed by his ear.
Wang Ya turned his head. At some point, a large king cobra had appeared in the shadows of the secluded alley. It reared up, fangs bared, poised to strike him.
He narrowed his eyes. The next moment, a powerful Biological Force Field surged forth with his Extraordinary Spiritual Power, crushing the king cobra into a mist of blood.
An unfamiliar, even more powerful Biological Force Field pressed in from all directions, like the feeling of being devoured by ten thousand snakes. Wang Ya’s heart skipped a beat, and an involuntary panic began to set in.
‘This is… a primal, instinctual fear. A type of Witchcraft that uses presence to attack the will.’
Alarm bells rang in Wang Ya’s mind. He started to turn, but his body couldn’t react in time. His pupils reflected a giant purple serpent descending from the sky, its monstrous maw open to reveal sharp fangs and unleash a foul, stinking wind.
In a single bite, it chomped down, severing Wang Ya at the waist.
