Three Systems Made the Fake Heiress Unstoppable

Chapter 219: Brooke York Is Too Stupid

  • Next Chapter

Because she was in a fairly good mood, Brooke York decided to go out for a stroll and see if she could bump into Chloe York. If she did, she could even mock her a little!

Perhaps because she was so eager to show off, she actually managed to run into Chloe, who had come to the university to sign some documents. Chloe originally hadn’t planned on coming to campus since she had no classes, but the paperwork required her presence. She just hadn’t expected to run into Brooke, who always seemed to pop up like a pathetic little roadblock. She suspected Brooke had some weird fetish for ambushing people halfway to their destinations.

“Chloe, you only have one system left, don’t you?” Brooke’s face was brimming with smiles. If one only looked at her expression without hearing her words, they might actually believe the two girls had a great relationship. Brooke appeared to be chatting happily with Chloe.

Chloe didn’t answer. She disdained responding to such questions; after all, she didn’t even need a system anymore.

“Your silence means it’s true! Oh my, how pitiful. I remember a certain someone used to have three systems. How did three systems suddenly turn into one? Could you just not hold onto the other two?” As Brooke spoke, she furrowed her brows and pouted, feigning confusion. “If you ask me, it’s perfectly normal that you couldn’t keep them. After all, you’re just a vicious supporting character. How could a vicious supporting female lead be qualified to own three systems? Who gets to have three systems? The female lead, of course! And who is the female lead? I, Brooke York, am the female lead.”

Brooke’s tone and words couldn’t have been any smugger. Right now, she was practically floating on cloud nine. Mostly, she figured that since Chloe had lost two of her three systems, Chloe was clearly going downhill. This was in stark contrast to Brooke herself, who was on the rise. This was the fundamental difference between a vicious supporting character and the true female lead.

“Are you done?” Hearing her overly inflated tone was grating on Chloe’s ears, so she cut straight to the point.

However, Chloe’s response only made Brooke even more complacent. She assumed Chloe’s impatience and ugly expression were because Brooke had hit the nail on the head, making her uncomfortable.

“What, you don’t want me to say it? Did I hit a sore spot? Vicious supporting character, vicious supporting character! The more you try to stop me, the more I’m going to say it. You are just a vicious supporting character, and I am the female lead!” Brooke chanted like a gleeful child that Chloe was the villainess and she was the heroine. It was as if doing so could negate the words of her system, Dottie. She wanted to prove that she was still the female lead of this world, rather than Chloe, as the system had claimed.

“Brooke, I honestly don’t know whether to call you naive or just plain stupid. A system can’t stay with you forever. Do you know the real reason they left? It’s because I’ve already completed all my missions. A system only leaves when the job is done. Understand?”

“You completed all your missions? Who are you kidding? I haven’t even seen you do any missions. Do you think you can fool me?”

“If you want to think that way, there’s nothing I can do about it.”

“What do you mean, there’s nothing you can do about it? Chloe, I have to admit, you really are quite something. I, the female lead, hadn’t even bound a system yet, but you already had one—and you went right ahead and bound three of them at once.

“Even as the female lead, I could only bind one!”

Chloe really didn’t want to listen to Brooke’s nonsense anymore. She turned to leave, but Brooke still blocked her way. “Don’t go! I’m not finished talking!”

“Are you trying to make me hit you?”

Hearing this, Brooke felt a rare surge of fear. She recalled the time she and Alice Cole had been at Chloe’s rented apartment. Chloe had pinned her down so hard she couldn’t move an inch. She could still vividly remember exactly how that pain felt.

“Oh, so you do know how to be scared. I thought you were fearless!” Chloe said.

“Wipe that smug look off your face, Chloe! You only have that kind of strength because of the rewards your system gave you. Otherwise, did you really think you could beat me?”

“Didn’t you just say two of my systems are gone? Maybe my super strength vanished along with them.”

Hearing this, Brooke genuinely believed Chloe had lost her strength and immediately prepared to step forward again.

Dottie chimed in, “[Host, don’t clash head-on with Chloe. Even though two of her systems have left, any rewards she gained from completing missions remain bound to her. They won’t expire just because the systems are gone.]”

Hearing Dottie’s voice, Brooke quickly took a step back and laughed. “Chloe, you’re just using reverse psychology! Let me tell you, I know your super strength is still there. I won’t tease you anymore. If you want to leave, then leave!”

Chloe let out a cold scoff and walked away. From that brief interaction, she had already guessed what happened: Brooke’s system must have warned her not to attack. Her system clearly knew that even if Chloe’s own systems had left, the rewards they provided were still active.

Brooke watched Chloe walk away. In her eyes, Chloe was fleeing in defeat. She had won.

“Ah, I finally get to see Chloe take a loss and run away with her tail between her legs. That feels so good!”

Dottie warned, “[Host, you really should avoid provoking Chloe. The rewards her systems gave her don’t vanish with their departure. You can’t match her in a physical fight.]”

Dottie couldn’t help but speak up to remind Brooke. In its opinion, Brooke had been way too arrogant just now. It was a rather useless system as it was. Once a useless system like itself eventually left, Brooke would absolutely be at a disadvantage against Chloe.

“Oh, what are you afraid of? Even if her system rewards are still there, she only has one system left. I have a system too, so why should I fear her? If you ask me, you’re just being too much of a coward,” Brooke retorted.

Dottie replied, “[Alright, as long as you’re happy, Host.]”

Dottie gave up on persuading her. This host was simply too stubborn.

Feeling as though she had just won a major battle, Brooke was in an excellent mood. Wearing a smug smile, she turned to head back to her dorm. However, she had barely taken two steps when a girl suddenly rushed in front of her, blocking her path.

Brooke was startled. Her expression darkened, and her tone turned sharp. “Who are you? What do you want?”

“Your name is Brooke York, right?”

Brooke sized up the girl in front of her. Even though this girl was on campus, she didn’t look like a university student. Had she come specifically to find Brooke and become friends?

“I am Brooke. Why? Did you block my way because you want to be friends with me? Let me tell you, I don’t just befriend anyone. You’ll have to pass my test first,” Brooke said, her tone incredibly haughty.

“I don’t want to be your friend.”

“Then what do you want?”
