Chapter 482: Fairchild Has the Capital to Be Arrogant

"I’ve been worrying myself sick over you, and you’re out there making moves behind my back. Have you even considered how I feel?" Jasper Rockwell shot back.

"If it ever actually got to the point where I needed *you* to worry about me, that would be a truly pathetic day for me."

"You..." Jasper was furious, but he was at a loss for words.

’Melody is just too easy to fool. She’s already been tricked away by that big bad wolf so quickly. Ugh!’

’That Evan Fairchild really has the resources to be so arrogant! It’s like his whole life is a cheat code.’

"I don’t care, either way. I can’t lose my job! I’ve already booked my flight to Jansburg. Can *you* be on set 24/7? I can! I’m not just going as Zane Langdon’s personal assistant—my main job is to look after Melody. Plus, if anything happens, I can report back to you immediately."

"Did I say you couldn’t go?"

"Huh?" Before Jasper could even process that, the line went dead.

’So, does that mean Evan agreed?’

"Yes!" Jasper shot up and immediately started packing.

...

Melody Monroe arrived at the temporary office the production team had rented and went straight to find Director Walsh. When she got to his office, she found Zane Langdon was there as well.

"Melody, you’re here." Director Walsh stood up and greeted her warmly.

"Mr. Langdon, you’re here early too?"

"I am. I came to discuss the character with Director Walsh," Zane Langdon replied quietly.

"This is my first time working with Zane, and I’ve always heard he’s incredibly dedicated—a rare gem of an actor. Now that I’ve met him, I can see it’s true. I’m sure we’ll have a wonderful time working together."

Zane Langdon offered a faint smile in response.

Moreover, the fact that both lead actors, Zane Langdon and Melody Monroe, had cleared their schedules of all other commitments to film this series made Director Walsh especially happy.

They had only been chatting for a moment when a knock sounded at the door.

"Director Walsh, are Mr. Langdon and Ms. Monroe both in there?"

"Yes, they’re both here."

"The costumes have arrived. Since they’re both here, could we have them come over for a fitting?"

"Of course," Director Walsh replied.

Melody Monroe and Zane Langdon walked out together, following the staff member toward another office.

If there were no issues with the costumes, the crew would immediately move on to shooting the promotional stills.

As Melody and Zane walked in, the lively chatter in the room abruptly died down. Everyone turned in unison to look at them.

The others were already in costume, and the makeup artists were bustling about, putting the finishing touches on their looks.

"Oh my god! It’s Zane Langdon!"

"He’s so handsome!"

"Where are our costumes?" Melody asked quietly.

"Right this way." A staff member immediately pointed them in the right direction.

Melody saw a long clothing rack filled with costumes, each in its own clear plastic garment bag. There were twenty-seven complete sets.

"Ms. Monroe, a few sets haven’t arrived yet. They’re for later scenes, but the team is working overtime to get them made. It won’t affect the shooting schedule."

"Mr. Langdon’s are over here. He’s also missing a few that are still being made."

Melody felt a little daunted looking at so many outfits.

’How long is this going to take?’

"Claire, Luna, you two go help Ms. Monroe with the costumes," the staff member said, immediately assigning two people to the task.

With Talia Mercer also there, she had three people to help her.

The clothes were wheeled into a dedicated fitting room. Looking at the elaborate garments, Melody thought she probably wouldn’t even know how to put them on by herself.

With Claire and Luna’s help, she changed into the first costume.
