Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year
Chapter 516: I’ll Wait for You
Only then did Melody Monroe notice his arm was injured again. "What happened to your arm?"
"Christopher Sterling came by last night."
"He came to see Rose?"
"That’s right. We got into a bit of a physical altercation."
"Why would he still come and bother Rose?"
"Rose already made it clear to him that she’s not going back to Stellaris. From now on, she wants nothing to do with him."
"Is Rose really leaving Stellaris?"
"Yeah, I heard it myself!" Even though Keith Coleman was outside, he hadn’t left because he was worried about Rose. He overheard her conversation with Christopher Sterling.
"That’s for the best. If this is an ordeal Rose has to go through, then it’s good she’s getting past it."
Melody Monroe stayed at the hospital and didn’t leave.
Rose Shaw slept for nearly six hours. When she opened her eyes and found Melody Monroe sitting by her bed, she immediately sat up.
"Rose, you’re awake! Don’t move, just stay lying down."
The moment she saw Melody Monroe, a lump formed in Rose’s throat, and tears instantly welled up in her eyes.
"Rose, promise me you won’t do anything foolish again, okay?"
"I won’t."
"Mm-hm." Melody Monroe smiled and nodded.
"Where’s Keith Coleman?"
"He went to buy a few things. He should be back soon."
"The doctor said you’re recovering exceptionally well. You can be discharged tomorrow."
"Okay." Rose Shaw nodded.
"Rose, when you get out of the hospital, come to Jansburg with me, okay? I’m worried about you staying in Rockwellburg all by yourself."
"I’m sorry, Melody. I’m just not in the mood to work right now."
"You don’t have to work. Just come to Jansburg and do whatever you want."
Rose Shaw nodded. "Okay."
She had no other family or friends. She didn’t even know if her sister was still alive in this world. Melody Monroe was like a sister to her.
She was deeply moved that Melody Monroe had rushed back from Jansburg for her.
Their bond was perhaps even stronger than that of blood sisters.
"I’m back." Keith Coleman pushed the door open and walked in.
He was carrying some fruit and a bouquet of flowers—fiery red roses dotted with white baby’s breath. He walked over to Rose and placed the bouquet in her arms.
"For you."
Holding the large bouquet, Rose didn’t dare to meet Keith Coleman’s eyes. "Thank you."
"Melody, your shooting schedule is tight, so you should head back. I’ll go to Jansburg with Rose. I’m here, so you have nothing to worry about."
"Okay." Melody Monroe nodded. "Rose, I’ll be waiting for you in Jansburg."
"Okay." Rose Shaw nodded.
Melody Monroe walked out of the hospital and checked a message on her phone. She immediately looked toward the street and, sure enough, Evan Fairchild’s car was parked there.
She walked toward the car.
Seeing Melody Monroe approach, Evan Fairchild got out and opened the passenger door for her.
"How long have you been here?" Melody Monroe asked softly as she settled into the passenger seat.
"Not too long. How is Rose doing?"
"She’s recovering well and can be discharged tomorrow. Her spirits are good, too. She’s left Stellaris, and Keith Coleman is going to go to Jansburg with her."
"So she agreed to be your agent?"
"No. Given her state right now, she should just relax and do whatever she wants. I only suggested she be my agent because I wanted her to leave Stellaris. But now she’s left on her own, so she can do whatever she wants."
