Chapter 33: Chapter 33: Horny Priestess, Lays With A River Woman....(18+)
Korr left at dawn with fourteen fighters ten first-band and four second-band under his direct count.
The triple watches had held through the night.
No new bones had been left. No fresh tracks had reached the lower posts.
The message of the bead still hung over the valley, but the high rock had not answered it again before the column climbed.
Bor walked at Korr’s shoulder.
~~~~
The older hunter’s eyes stayed on the broken ridgelines.
The men moved in the gray light with the tight discipline of a group that expected the quiet to break into blood at any turn.
They checked the high overlook where the bead had been placed, the secondary saddle, the draws that had held earlier ambushes.
Nothing fresher than old sign and the memory of the message.
By midday they had found only one new mark: a single set of bare prints on a narrow ledge above the main northern trail, already half-erased by wind.
Whoever had left it had not stayed.
The Hollow Kin were still watching.
They were not yet spending more blood.
The column turned back before full dark, carrying nothing more than the confirmation that the high rock remained patient.
In the valley the questions under stone continued.
~~~~
Kel still gave nothing.
Two more second-band men who had worn the same style of bead were pulled and questioned.
Their answers matched the other complaints about the mixed counts, nothing about bones or high posts.
The shadow around the bead grew thicker without producing a clear hand.
Vara kept every name under the lamps and every count exact.
The tribe watched the ridges and the internal paths with equal care.
Elka felt the pressure and did not bend in public.
She walked the lower training ground in the afternoon light, tall and unhurried, bone beads and teeth in her long braids catching the sun, fur cloak open over the strong curves of her body.
Sura trained at her side, spear work clean and efficient.
Drak watched from the edge of the circle. The second-band fighters who still drifted toward her fire did so more carefully than before, aware that every movement was being measured against the bead that had been left with the Hollow Kin bone.
~~~~
When the day’s training ended and the fires were lit, Elka did not join the larger circles. She returned to the smaller cave she had claimed for her core group, the one deeper and more private than the open training ground.
Sura followed without being called. Drak and the others remained outside on watch.
The flap closed.
For a long moment the only sound was the low crackle of the fire and the distant murmur of the valley.
Elka stood with her back to it, untying the cloak and letting it fall.
The bone-and-hide top followed.
She turned to face Sura in the firelight, tall, powerful, the full weight of her breasts and the strong lines of her stomach and hips unmarked by any claim but her own.
"The Matron pulls names and tightens counts because the high rock left one of our beads with their bone," Elka said.
Her voice was low, edged with the same sharpness she brought to every private calculation.
"She wants the tribe to see my circle as already half-turned. I will not give her the satisfaction of watching us flinch."
Sura set her spear against the wall.
The River woman’s dark hair was still bound from training.
Her body was leaner than Elka’s, marked with the older scars of the camp that had fallen and the newer ones from the mixed watches.
She met Elka’s eyes without lowering her gaze.
"What do you need?"
Elka stepped closer.
"Tonight I need what the fires outside cannot see.
The Matron has her gladiator to remind the tribe who holds the center. I will remind myself what I still hold."
She reached out and pulled Sura in by the hip.
The kiss was not soft. It was claiming in a different register hungry, deliberate, the kind of hunger that had nothing to do with the songs sung about Korr and everything to do with the private power Elka refused to let the widened questions take from her.
~~~~
Sura answered it with the same intensity, hands sliding up the strong muscles of Elka’s back.
They moved to the furs without further words.
Elka pushed Sura down and followed, straddling her thighs, heavy breasts hanging above the River woman’s face. She guided one dark nipple to Sura’s mouth.
"Suck the hell out of breasts!"
Sura took it, drawing hard.
Elka’s breath caught.
She fed her the other breast in turn, hips already rolling against Sura’s stomach, the wet heat of her sliding along the leaner woman’s skin.
When she wanted more she rose, turned, and lowered her ass over Sura’s face.
"Fuck... eat my juicy ass and pussy."
Sura’s hands gripped Elka’s strong thighs. She dragged her tongue through the cleft of Elka’s ass, slow and firm at first, then deeper as Elka rocked back against her mouth.
The warrior-priestess used her the way she used every tool she claimed openly, without apology until her own breath turned rough and her thighs began to tremble.
Only then did Elka lift off, turn again, and settle between Sura’s legs.
~~~~
She ate the River woman with the same focused intensity, tongue and lips working until Sura’s hips lifted off the furs and a low, broken sound escaped her throat.
Elka did not stop until the smaller woman’s body clenched and shuddered through the release.
They changed places again.
Elka straddled Sura’s face once more and ground down while her own hand worked between her thighs.
She came with a sharp, controlled cry, body locking, the bone beads in her long braids clicking as she shuddered.
When the pulses faded she stayed there for a moment longer, breathing hard, then finally lifted off and collapsed onto the furs beside Sura.
For a time neither spoke.
The fire painted their bodies in shifting gold. Outside, the triple watches paced.
Inside the small cave the private claim had been renewed in the only way that still belonged entirely to them.
Elka broke the silence first, voice quieter than before.
"The Matron thinks the bead will break us. The high rock thinks the lower caves are already open. Both of them are wrong.
We are still here.
We are still counting. And when the next cut comes from the ridges or from under stone I intend to still be standing with the pieces I have chosen."
Sura turned her head on the furs.
"And the gladiator?"
Elka’s mouth curved, thin and sharp.
"He is still her strongest stone.
Stones can be pried loose.
Or they can be left exactly where they are until the wall around them cracks on its own. We do not need to take him tonight.
We only need to make certain that when the wall moves, we are the ones already standing on the side that remains."
She reached out and rested a hand on Sura’s stomach, fingers spreading over the scars.
"Rest. Dawn will bring more questions under stone and more counts on the high trails.
I want you sharp for both."
