Chapter 855: Chapter 854: Encountering Vivian Norris Again (3)
Bella Acker sneered coldly, saying, "Sometimes I really don’t understand people like you. You don’t live your own life and just keep thinking about how to mess with others all day. Isn’t that tiring?"
Vivian Norris hesitantly said, "Tiring, yes. But if you don’t scheme against others, others will scheme against you. That’s just how society is. Since scheming is inevitable, why not be the one to scheme against others?"
"It’s because there are too many people with your mindset that society becomes complicated. Think about it, if everyone started without the intent to scheme others and just focused on doing their own thing well, would there still be so many troubles?" Bella Acker held her hand and said, "Come on, I’ll take you to the restroom."
Vivian Norris, upon hearing these words, supported herself against the wall and walked forward, lost in thought.
Could it really be like what Bella Acker said? Human nature doesn’t have to be that ugly.
But after her incident, none of those who claimed to be her good friends stepped forward to help her. Not even a single comforting word.
How could such cold and warmth in relationships make her believe in the inherent goodness of human nature?
Yet Bella Acker, who should have least cared about her, managed to set aside past grudges and, upon encountering her in the hospital, simply because she saw her feeling weak, went out of her way to support her along the way.
Lowering her head, Vivian Norris suddenly shed tears that streamed down her cheeks.
Perhaps there are really good people; she just isn’t one of them, so she doesn’t encounter good people.
It’s all just her own doing after all.
Bella Acker glanced at the sign at the door, saying, "Here’s the restroom. Can you manage going in by yourself?"
"No problem, I can do it myself. Bella Acker, thank you." Vivian Norris wiped her tears and forced a smile, "Thank you for showing me that there are still really good people in this society."
Bella Acker looked at her and said nothing.
Vivian Norris nodded and supported herself against the wall, inching her way into the restroom.
Bella Acker took out her phone to text Damian Sinclair, "Has Talia’s IV been removed?"
Damian Sinclair quickly replied, "Yes, it has, but she’s still asleep. Where are you?"
Bella Acker read the reply, "Met an old acquaintance here, she’s sick and hospitalized without anyone to care for her, inconvenient to go to the restroom, I supported her to the restroom, will help her back to ward soon..."
Bella Acker hadn’t finished typing when she saw Damian Sinclair coming out with Talia in his arms, spotting her from the other end of the hallway, walking straight over.
"I was just about to text you to wait for me in the car." Bella Acker had no choice but to put her phone away.
Damian Sinclair observed her standing outside the women’s restroom and asked, "What acquaintance? Someone you knew from filming, or a volunteer who helped at the welfare institute?"
"From filming."
As Bella Acker spoke, Vivian Norris had already begun to make her way out of the restroom slowly, supporting herself against the wall. Seeing Bella Acker still waiting there, she was surprised and blurted out, "You’re waiting for me?"
"What else did you think, that I’m standing outside the restroom because I have a voyeuristic hobby?" Bella Acker stepped forward to support her, "I’ll take you back to the ward before leaving."
"You..." Vivian Norris felt very touched inside, wanting to say something but unsure of what to say. As she took two more steps out, she turned and saw Damian Sinclair standing outside, holding a little girl.
Vivian Norris was stunned for two seconds before forcing a smile, "President Sinclair, long time no see."
