Wilderness Survival with Druid System
Chapter 1139 - 8: Shooting Practice
Looking at the shooting range, Chen Wen couldn’t help but click his tongue.
The place was vast, with a large open area in the distance, and about fifty meters away were the targets.
Where they stood was a shooting window, and some ammo boxes were stacked neatly on the table.
Chen Wen glanced around and found that the firearms here should all be semi-automatic rifles.
The coach was a rugged Russian man, not bald, but surprisingly hairy.
This was quite rare.
He took out a rifle from the box beside him, and as soon as Chen Wen saw it, he named it: "AK47?"
The coach looked at Chen Wen with a proud smile and introduced, "It’s from the AK series, a firearm designed by the famous weapon designer from our country, Kalashnikov. It’s a basic firearm, would you like me to teach you how to use it?"
Chen Wen nodded and asked Gaston in awkward Arabic, "Who goes first?"
After correcting Chen Wen’s pronunciation, Gaston replied again in Arabic, "You go, I’ll watch first."
Chen Wen took out a magnetic card obtained after topping up, and under the coach’s guidance, swiped it on a nearby machine.
Coach Ivan glanced at the numbers on the machine and his tone softened a bit: "How should I address you, sir?"
"Just call me Mr. Chen," said Chen Wen.
The coach nodded, "Call me Ivan, then. I’ll first introduce our charging standard. We charge based on the number of bullets; you can buy and shoot first, or buy after you shoot. Once you’ve had your fun, you can tell me, and I’ll help you settle the fee."
Why does it have to be Ivan again?
Chen Wen grumbled inwardly, but he had a better understanding of the situation here.
He said, "Let’s start with two hundred rounds, but you have to teach me how to use this thing."
Coach Ivan nodded, "Of course, that’s my job."
Ivan took out two hundred rounds, and Chen Wen glanced at them, feeling a bit awestruck.
In games, two hundred rounds don’t seem much, but in reality, seeing them right in front of you is quite intimidating.
Beside him, Gaston, speaking in Arabic (from this point, Gaston and Chen Wen’s communication is in Arabic), said, "How long are you going to be shooting?"
Chen Wen didn’t quite understand but replied, "Shoot slowly."
At this moment, Coach Ivan approached and asked, "Have you had any experience with firearms before?"
Chen Wen thought for a moment, "I’ve used simple handguns, like a Desert Eagle."
That’s basically no foundation.
Ivan nodded and began instructing Chen Wen from the start.
From checking the firearm’s condition, loading the weapon, to chambering...
This Ivan was quite the chatterbox; he even taught Chen Wen how to maintain firearms and some simple repair methods.
Chen Wen studied diligently, and Gaston, beside him, also learned a bit.
This made Ivan quite satisfied.
About fifteen minutes later, Ivan felt they had learned enough and suggested Chen Wen try shooting.
Chen Wen picked up the rifle, while Ivan vigilantly watched Chen Wen’s movements from the side, his hand unconsciously resting on his waist.
It was professional habit.
Following Ivan’s instructions, Chen Wen loaded, chambered, unlocked the safety, and aimed at the distant target.
Following Ivan’s aiming method, he soon locked onto the bullseye.
Observing Chen Wen from the side, Ivan sensed something unusual.
Chen Wen’s hand was too steady!
And at that moment, Chen Wen fired.
Tut, tut, tut!
Chen Wen first tried burst shooting.
As the gunfire resounded, even with headphones on, Chen Wen felt his ears were deafened.
He quickly turned off those hearing enhancement options and looked at Ivan.
Ivan exclaimed in surprise, "All hit the bullseye, and your hand was so steady, no shake at all, as if there was no recoil. Have you practiced shooting before? I mean, like archery."
That statement was a bit exaggerated.
But it proved just how steady Chen Wen was!
Gaston was thoughtfully observing; Chen Wen’s arm strength was naturally strong—after all, he played with spears—and it seemed that arm strength was important in shooting!
Chen Wen chuckled, nodding, "More or less, I’ve practiced javelin throwing."
At this point, Ivan understood; he said, "Then you can definitely try full-auto shooting; your strength is more than enough."
Chen Wen nodded and began firing rapidly.
His right hand squeezed the trigger, and his left hand held the gunstock firmly, shooting quickly.
Beside him, Ivan watched the target with his mouth wide open.
In Chen Wen’s continuous shooting, except for rare moments when he missed, most of the time his bullets were heading toward the target, even gradually aligning into a line.
Aimbot engaged!
If in a game, encountering the trajectory Chen Wen just shot, Ivan would definitely type this word on the public screen and report the opponent.
But this was reality!
Next to him, Gaston’s mouth gaped wide enough to fit an ostrich egg.
A magazine emptied.
Chen Wen put down the gun and shook his body comfortably, "Awesome! The sound of firing, tut tut tut, sounds great. The feel is even better!"
Beside him, Ivan couldn’t help but say, "Honestly, if you hadn’t just known nothing about firearms, I’d suspect that you used to be in the army, and an elite force at that."
"Too accurate!"
Ivan said, then reported Chen Wen’s score, "In total, you missed three shots, the rest all hit, and about seventeen times hit the bullseye, a very impressive score!"
Beside him, Gaston hissed, pondering how much accuracy he’d achieve if he tried.
He had some shooting experience.
But after some calculation, Gaston found Chen Wen’s accuracy just surpassed his best record in the past.
Plus, back then, he was shooting one shot at a time!
Chen Wen wasn’t satisfied after a magazine and said, "Another magazine; I feel my accuracy can still improve. Just now, I wasn’t familiar with this gun."
Ivan nodded and loaded bullets for Chen Wen.
After Chen Wen’s second round of shooting, Ivan was stunned.
This time, all hit!
And the probability of hitting the bullseye was increasing!
He’s a genius!
Ivan couldn’t help but think.
Out of the two hundred rounds, Chen Wen fired a total of one hundred and fifty rounds, and by the end, he had reached a sixty percent bullseye hit rate on full-auto shooting.
And no misses!
Feeling exhilarated, Chen Wen put down the weapon and looked at Gaston, "These remaining fifty rounds are yours; ah, that was refreshing!"
Gaston corrected Chen Wen’s grammar and pronunciation mistakes and then contemplated trying the remaining bullets.
But after finishing the first magazine, he decisively gave up on the remaining bullets.
His hit rate was about the same as Chen Wen’s bullseye hit rate; it was too discouraging!
