Wilderness Survival with Druid System
Chapter 1140: Hunting
After finishing the rifle session, Chen Wen followed the coach to experience pistols, sniper rifles, and even heavy machine guns one by one.
To be honest, with the system, Chen Wen’s learning ability has steadily improved—except for language-related abilities.
So, to Coach Ivan’s amazement, Chen Wen managed to learn nearly everything about the firearms he encountered in just one morning, basically able to handle shooting by himself if he had a gun and bullets.
Next to him, Gaston fired a few shots but ended up losing interest.
After all, Chen Wen’s hit rate was terrifyingly accurate, which made him completely give up on shooting.
“Alright, we’ve had our fun, it’s time to meet up with them.”
Putting down the short-barreled shotgun, Chen Wen said with satisfaction.
Honestly, he spent quite a bit of money this morning.
Looking at his balance, Chen Wen saw that his three thousand US Dollars had already dwindled to just over a thousand.
Gaston shook his head: “You’ve definitely had your fill. Let’s go, see how they’re doing.”
Seeing the two were about to leave, Coach Ivan said, “Mr. Chen, you can come directly to me next time, but your talent is truly remarkable. In just one morning, you seem to have surpassed those regular customers who’ve been coming here for years.”
Chen Wen laughed, waved his hand.
He and Gaston soon found Adam, who was enjoying himself.
After seeing the two, Adam put down his rifle and also finished shooting.
When asked how Chen Wen and Gaston spent their morning, Gaston had a complicated expression.
While Chen Wen happily gave a thumbs up.
Hua Yun was also enjoying herself, and after finding her, the group reunited with Fred and Roland.
These two now had quite a good relationship.
The group had lunch at the shooting range’s restaurant and then discussed plans for the afternoon.
At this time, Fred made a suggestion: “VIP customers here can experience the thrill of hunting. Are you interested?”
At these words, Hua Yun immediately showed interest: “Hunting with firearms?”
“Yes.”
Fred nodded, “I just reached the VIP level today. If you want, you can use my quota and join in. We can even see who bags the most game this afternoon. These animals are raised here, so we can take them with us if we want.”
This suggestion piqued Chen Wen’s interest too.
For lunch, they had venison, which Chen Wen thought tasted a bit like Siberian Roe Deer.
Plus, hunting with firearms should be more thrilling than with spears or bows and arrows, right?
Chen Wen said, “We don’t have much planned for the afternoon anyway, so why not play together? If everyone is up for it, it’s my treat today.”
This decision immediately dispelled any hesitation among the group.
“It’s rare for Chen Wen to treat, so I definitely have to join,” Gaston chuckled.
Even though they’ve known each other for a long time, Chen Wen doesn’t treat often because most of the time they’re in other countries where local friends would host.
Now with a chance to benefit at Chen Wen’s expense, naturally, they wouldn’t pass it up.
Roland said, “Perfect, if we’re going hunting, I can get back to my old hunting guide skills.”
Hua Yun nodded, “Experiencing the feel of shooting is surely great.”
Adam added, “Let’s do it; we don’t have much else to do, so we can just relax.”
With everyone agreeing, Fred looked at Chen Wen with some concern: “The costs here are quite high, are you sure…”
At this, Hua Yun chimed in: “Don’t worry too much, Chen Wen should be quite well-off.”
Saying so, Hua Yun glanced at Chen Wen.
Chen Wen smiled and said, “Indeed, my funds are doing quite well lately. I’ve stored up prize money from survival challenges, got some unexpected windfalls, and invested in some real estate, most of which is already built. Come summer, I’d love to invite you all to my home.”
Summer is the best time to visit Hua Yun’s island, also known as the Dream Home.
The sea breeze is mild and refreshing, the sun shines warmly, the sea is a clear blue, and seafood is abundant and lively.
The island’s coconuts are an edible variety, and the surrounding reefs teem with marine life.
Visiting the island then means a very comfortable experience.
The only difference from typical seaside resorts is that Chen Wen’s island has sharks around.
Last summer, while diving, Chen Wen encountered sharks and some poisonous marine creatures.
But since Hua Yun and the others are survival experts with experience near marine environments, such dangers are naturally not a big deal.
So, Chen Wen decided to invite everyone.
Hearing this, Hua Yun seemed thoughtful. Yan Bian had previously mentioned that Chen Wen seemed to have struck it rich and bought an island abroad.
Could this be the island Chen Wen was talking about?
The others, however, didn’t think too much—imagining that Chen Wen had bought a villa or similar property, now renovated, and was planning to have everyone over to celebrate.
Everyone accepted Chen Wen’s invitation eagerly.
“Alright then, this summer, after I wrap up the Heat Extreme Challenge, I’ll invite you all, “Chen Wen said.
The Heat Extreme Challenge usually starts at the end of May or possibly in June, depending on when the organizing association announces it.
It typically starts in June, lasts for a hundred days, concluding by the end of September.
That time coincides with the best period for enjoying the island.
At the same time, it’s also a great time to plan for the next survival location and strategize together.
Having made this decision.
Chen Wen also set the plan to invite his friends to his home.
Meanwhile, Fred informed the shooting range manager about their hunting plans.
The range naturally didn’t dare to neglect them. Compared to shooting targets, hunting costs much more, so any guest who can afford it is surely wealthy.
Soon, the range brought over a dozen horses, a pack of hunting dogs, and two seasoned hunting guides.
Upon arriving, the two guides asked how long Chen Wen’s group wanted to play.
After a quick discussion, Chen Wen’s group agreed to spend this afternoon and also stay overnight until tomorrow afternoon.
With the time set, the guides began planning a hunting route.
They also provided Chen Wen’s group with a list of animals for hunting.
To be honest, this shooting range was quite remarkable. While most of the animals were raised, the variety was extensive.
Chen Wen noticed Siberian Roe Deer, Siberian Reindeer, Elk, and Moose, which already surpassed the deer variety in many hunting grounds.
There were also common game animals like wild boars and hares.
During the summer, there were even plenty of waterfowl.
It was only then that Chen Wen realized why this shooting range was in the depths of the forest—such activities simply couldn’t be done in the city.
Beside him, Hua Yun was already rubbing her hands in anticipation.
Whenever hunting is involved, Hua Yun is absolutely passionate.
Meanwhile, Roland was discussing the hunting route with the guides. As an experienced hunting guide, his conversation instantly made the other guides realize he was a peer!
If it weren’t for the generous payment and tip from Chen Wen’s group, they might have suspected the group was there to cause trouble.
Fred and Gaston, on the other hand, were inspecting the hunting dogs.
The hunting dogs here were of a rare breed, and the two were initially unsure about their identity.
But soon, when Chen Wen saw these dogs, his eyes lit up.
