Chapter 121 A Decision by the Forbidden Forces
Chapter 121: Chapter 121 A Decision by the Forbidden Forces
Chapter 121
Inside the Blood Moon Sect, fifteen powerful figures had gathered in the main hall.
They were the seven Forbidden Family Patriarchs and the eight Forbidden Sect Masters, the most influential leaders among the Forbidden Forces of the Mortal World.
At the head of the hall sat Mo Xuehan, the female Sect Master of the Blood Moon Sect.
Seated nearby were Shi Wuheng of the Shi Family, Ji Wutian of the Ji Family, Huangfu Tianjun of the Huangfu Family, Beiming Cang of the Beiming Family, Feng Jiutian of the Feng Family, Sikong Mingyuan of the Sikong Family, and Xiahou Zhen of the Xiahou Family.
The other seven Forbidden Sect Masters were present as well: Qin Taixuan of the Myriad Heaven Sect, Yan Beiming of the Netherworld Sect, Xing Wuchen of the Starfall Forbidden Sect, Huo Tianjie of the Eternal Calamity Sect, Xu Kongming of the Void Severing Sect, Luo Wujin of the Sunless Heaven Sect, and Gu Xinghe of the Myriad Ages Sect.
This was not a casual meeting.
Inside the Primordial Sealing Ruin, the ancient voice had warned of an approaching Calamity.
It had revealed very little about it.
But the warning had been serious enough that none of them could ignore it.
They had already agreed to visit the Divination Pavilion.
Before setting out, though, they wanted to compare what their Ancestors had said.
Shi Wuheng broke the silence.
"Have any of you consulted your Ancestors about the Calamity?"
"I have," Mo Xuehan replied.
The others turned toward her.
"Our Ancestor listened to my report and told us to visit the Divination Pavilion. He believes we should have a clearer understanding before making any decisions."
Sikong Mingyuan nodded.
"Our Ancestor said the same."
"So did ours," Qin Taixuan added.
Huangfu Tianjun glanced at Beiming Cang.
"Our Ancestors also recommended the Pavilion."
Several leaders nodded.
Their Ancestors had different experiences and kept different records.
Yet they had all reached the same conclusion.
Ji Wutian rested one hand on the armrest of his chair.
"Then there’s no need for further discussion. We’ve already decided, and our Ancestors have confirmed it."
"Agreed," Feng Jiutian said. "We should leave as soon as possible. The warning concerns the entire world, and we have no reason to waste time."
Xiahou Zhen stroked his beard.
"We should remember that we still don’t know what the Calamity will bring. Our purpose is to gather information, not to jump to conclusions."
"Precisely," Gu Xinghe replied. "The more reliable information we have, the better prepared we’ll be if things get worse."
Mo Xuehan rose from her seat.
"Since everyone agrees, let us depart."
The other fourteen stood.
After a few brief words, the fifteen leaders left the Blood Moon Sect together.
Their destination was the Divination Pavilion.
---
The journey passed quickly for fifteen cultivators of their standing.
Using their movement techniques, they crossed vast stretches of territory before finally reaching the Divination Pavilion.
Magnificent halls and towering pavilions filled the grounds.
Ancient formations surrounded the buildings, and their faint fluctuations revealed how strong the protections were.
Cultivators entered and left through the main gate, and attendants moved between the buildings.
This was the Divination Pavilion itself, the seat of its influence across the entire known continent.
It was far more than an ordinary branch.
The Pavilion’s finest diviners gathered here, and its ancient records had been kept for countless generations.
The fifteen leaders descended near the entrance.
Their arrival drew attention at once.
Each of them was a Patriarch or Sect Master of a Forbidden Force, with cultivation between Mahayana Realm Level Six and Level Eight.
Their combined presence was enough to make the cultivators nearby cautious.
Several attendants approached, meaning to ask their names and arrange an audience.
But before the fifteen could announce themselves, a young attendant stepped forward.
He stopped at a respectful distance and bowed deeply.
"Esteemed Seniors, our Ancestor, Tianji Xuankong, has been awaiting your arrival."
The fifteen leaders exchanged glances.
Shi Wuheng narrowed his eyes slightly.
"Our arrival?"
He looked at the attendant.
"Did your Ancestor know we would be coming today?"
"Yes, Senior. Our Ancestor instructed us to prepare for your arrival."
They exchanged another round of glances.
They had sent no message to the Divination Pavilion.
They had told no one of their decision to visit, much less the time they would arrive.
Yet Tianji Xuankong had known.
Mo Xuehan’s expression grew thoughtful.
"How interesting."
She turned to the others.
"We never informed the Pavilion of our plans. Even if the Ancestor has extraordinary divination abilities, knowing the exact time of our arrival is still remarkable."
"Indeed," Qin Taixuan said. "Perhaps he has already discovered something about the Calamity."
"That’s possible," Ji Wutian said. "But we shouldn’t jump to conclusions before we meet him."
Huangfu Tianjun nodded.
"Whatever the reason, we came for answers. If the Pavilion has found something, we should hear it from them directly."
Shi Wuheng turned back to the attendant.
"Please lead the way."
"Certainly, Seniors."
The fifteen leaders followed him through the main entrance.
---
As they went deeper into the Pavilion, the leaders studied their surroundings.
Ancient pillars held up broad roofs decorated with intricate patterns.
Spiritual energy flowed through the grounds, while powerful formations lay hidden beneath the surface.
Every structure seemed to have been arranged according to principles that ordinary cultivators would struggle to understand.
The Divination Pavilion’s reputation didn’t rest on its divination techniques alone.
Its accumulated knowledge, its ancient records, and its deep understanding of the Heavenly Dao had made it one of the most influential institutions across the entire known continent.
Even the Forbidden Forces treated it with respect.
After crossing several courtyards, the attendant finally stopped before an enormous hall.
"Esteemed Seniors, our Ancestor is waiting inside."
He stepped aside and gestured toward the entrance.
The fifteen leaders went in.
At the far end of the hall sat an elderly man.
He wore a long, pale-gold robe embroidered with mysterious patterns.
His silver-white hair fell neatly over his shoulders, and his eyes were calm and deep.
His appearance seemed ordinary.
But the moment the fifteen entered, they felt an unfathomable aura surrounding him.
He was Tianji Xuankong, the Ancestor of the Divination Pavilion.
His cultivation had reached Peak Mahayana Realm, Level Nine.
Beside him sat a middle-aged man in a dark-blue robe, composed and dignified.
He was Ye Xuansheng, the Pavilion Master, whose cultivation had reached Mahayana Realm Level Five.
The fifteen leaders understood at once what this meant.
Not only had the Pavilion’s Ancestor agreed to see them personally.
The Pavilion Master was here as well.
This was clearly no ordinary audience.
Tianji Xuankong smiled faintly as they approached.
"Welcome, Patriarchs and Sect Masters. Please, take your seats."
His calm voice held no trace of surprise.
The leaders returned the greeting and sat.
Mo Xuehan studied the elderly man.
She had met many powerful cultivators in her life.
But Tianji Xuankong had a distinctive air of mystery.
It was nearly impossible to tell what he was thinking from his face.
Once everyone had settled, Shi Wuheng spoke.
"Ancestor Tianji, please forgive our sudden visit. We came because we’ve encountered something that needs further investigation."
Tianji Xuankong nodded.
"The approaching Calamity?"
The fifteen froze for a moment.
Shi Wuheng’s eyes narrowed.
"You already know why we came?"
A faint smile appeared on Tianji Xuankong’s face.
"I knew the fifteen leaders of the Forbidden Forces would visit the Pavilion today. As for the reason, it wasn’t hard to guess. It was bound to be the warning you received inside the Primordial Sealing Ruin."
The leaders looked at one another.
Even if he had somehow predicted their arrival, guessing the purpose of their visit was another matter.
Qin Taixuan looked at him thoughtfully.
"Ancestor Tianji, do you mean you already know about the warning from the ancient voice?"
"I’ve heard certain things," Tianji Xuankong replied. "But knowing a warning was issued isn’t the same as understanding the whole situation."
He lifted his teacup and took a small sip.
"Tell me exactly what happened inside the ruin. I’d like to hear it directly from you."
The leaders nodded.
Mo Xuehan exchanged a glance with Shi Wuheng, then recounted the warning.
She explained that the ancient voice had spoken of an approaching Calamity, but had not said exactly what would happen or when it would arrive.
The others added details where needed, so that Tianji Xuankong would have an accurate account of what they had seen and learned.
Throughout their explanation, the Ancestor listened quietly.
Ye Xuansheng said nothing, only occasionally exchanging a thoughtful glance with him.
When the leaders finished, the hall was quiet.
Tianji Xuankong set his teacup on the table.
For the first time since they arrived, the faint smile left his face.
He looked at the fifteen with a serious expression.
"You came seeking answers about the approaching Calamity. Unfortunately, the matter is far more complicated than you imagine."
The leaders straightened in their seats.
Tianji Xuankong paused.
"Even the heavens have become difficult to read."
