Chapter 1590: What can you offer? (1)

There were only holes as far as the eye could see.

No matter how far they went in this place, it didn’t seem like there was anything that was about to change.

It felt like they would be endlessly walking among these holes with how it never seemed to end.

But there was one thing that was made very clear to them.

The Dao Sect really was on a different level.

Each of these holes contained a different dangerous item that had to be sealed by the Dao Sect. And they knew that the holes were filled since they could see the dense energy that filled each of the holes.

The only thing that they weren’t seeing was the console that should have been here that would have allowed them to take control of the restriction arrays over the holes.

It was as if it just didn’t exist with how they weren’t able to find it no matter how far they went.

"Perhaps it’s stored in a different place." That was the thought that slowly crept into their minds when they weren’t able to find anything.

It was a reasonable thought, but it was also one that came too late since they were already in too deep to turn around. At this point, it really was too late for them to turn back.

But then all of a sudden, Lin Fan came to a stop.

Ye Qing Huan and Xiao Mu were caught off guard seeing him stop like this, but they were even more surprised when they saw him pull out the token and hold it in front of him.

Seeing him act this way, there was a small part of them that felt a bit of hope.

"Did he sense something with the token?"

Both of them knew just how special that token was as they had seen the effects of the token throughout their journey though these ruins. They knew that the token had a very special meaning in this place.

However, it didn’t seem like Lin Fan was going to do anything as he stood there with the token in hand. It was almost as if he was standing there in a daze with how he stared at the token.

Seeing this, the two of them couldn’t help feeling a bit worried about him.

In the end, Lin Fan suddenly went over to one of the holes.

Before they could say anything, he leaned over the hole and held the token above it. The way that he was holding the token like this, it seemed like he was trying to incite some kind of reaction from the hole with this token.

It was just that there was nothing that happened with this hole.

After a while, Lin Fan finally stood up and turned away from the hole.

The way that he was acting was as if nothing had happened just now.

Only after standing up from this hole, he actually moved to another one of the holes and held the token in front of him once more. It was as if he was seeing something from those holes that they weren’t seeing at all.

"Are you alright?" Ye Qing Huan slowly asked without getting in his way.

Lin Fan didn’t answer at first, but then he said, "I made a mistake."

Ye Qing Huan and Xiao Mu were both confused when they heard this, but Lin Fan didn’t seem to explain what he meant by these words.

That was until Ye Qing Huan came up to him once more and looked like she was about to stop him. When she did this, he suddenly said, "Do you know what’s the best way to hide something?"

Ye Qing Huan looked confused at first as she tried to think of an answer to this, but she had no idea what Lin Fan wanted as an answer since she couldn’t see through the look on his face.

Lin Fan didn’t mind as he said, "The best way to hide a tree is in a forest."

Ye Qing Huan didn’t say anything in response as she looked at the holes that were around them. The expression on her face showed that she was slowly understanding what he meant by these words.

It was just that as she stared at the countless holes that were here, there was a helpless look that crept onto her face.

"There are just too many holes."

That was what she thought as she looked at all of the holes that were there in front of her.

At this rate, it really would be hard to tell just how long it would take them to find what they were looking for.

"So it was here all along."

Lin Fan’s words entered her ears when Ye Qing Huan had this thought, which caused her to turn to him with a look that seemed a bit aggrieved. She had just thought about how hard it was for them to find the thing they were looking for and he had found it like this.

It really did make her feel awkward because of it.

But Ye Qing Huan didn’t let her emotions hold her back for long as she came over to look in the hole that Lin Fan was standing over. She wanted to see just what it was that Lin Fan had found.

The hole seemed to be filled with a dense energy as well, but she found that it was different from what they had seen previously.

With a wave of Lin Fan’s hand, that dense energy was actually dispelled and there was a pillar that revealed itself.

Without any hesitation, Lin Fan jumped down into the hole even though the restriction array was still there. But since the pillar was the thing that controlled the restriction array, it didn’t matter if he was trapped since he could just release it whenever he wanted.

With the token, he was able to access the pillar without any problems.

That was something that he was already certain of since he could sense the connection the pillar had to the token, so it wasn’t as if he had been worried about making a mistake.

Once he accessed the pillar, Lin Fan fell into a daze as if he was figuring something out.

"So that’s how it was!"

Ye Qing Huan and Xiao Mu were caught off guard by this sudden outburst from Lin Fan.

The two of them looked down at Lin Fan in the hole with curious looks, wondering what he had discovered. However, it didn’t seem like Lin Fan noticed them at all with the way that he was looking at the pillar in front of him.

The way that he was focused on the pillar was almost as if he was doing something with it. Especially since they could see that the token in his hand was glowing as he focused on the pillar like this.

After a while, Lin Fan finally came out of the hole and looked around at the other holes that were around them. The way that he looked at them was as if he was planning on doing something to these holes around them.

After thinking for a bit, he suddenly said, "Do you want to collect a few things?"

Both Ye Qing Huan and Xiao Mu were surprised and confused by these words, but they could see that Lin Fan didn’t plan on backing down. Whatever it was that he was planning to do, he had already come up with a plan and was going to see it through.

So the only thing that they could do was follow him and see what he was planning to do.

"Do you want to be free?"

As soon as Lin Fan said this, Ye Qing Huan and Xiao Mu had alarmed looks on their faces.

After all, the one that he was saying this to was one of the dangerous items inside of the hole.

"What is he thinking?" They thought this to themselves while wanting to pull Lin Fan away from the hole, but they stopped themselves in the end as they waited to see what he was planning to do.

They didn’t think that he had been affected by the item in the hole, but they were a bit worried that he might actually release the item that was there.

It didn’t seem like there was a response from the item in the hole at first, but then the dense energy that was inside of the hole seemed to move. It seemed like whatever was inside of the hole was scattering the dense energy that was hiding it.

Once the dense energy was cleared out, the item was revealed to be a dagger.

Just based on its appearance alone, it didn’t seem like that special of an item.

However, the three of them could tell that this dagger was anything but normal with how it was threatening them with its aura. It really felt like it wanted to crush them with its aura alone.

But in the end, it didn’t do that.

"What is it saying?" Lin Fan asked Xiao Mu since he wasn’t able to hear anything.

Xiao Mu didn’t say anything at first as it looked at the dagger in the hole in silence.

Then all of a sudden, Xiao Mu asked, "What do you want?"

It wasn’t Xiao Mu who was saying this, but rather the spirit inside of the dagger that was saying it.

With a smile, Lin Fan looked down at the dagger and asked, "What can you offer?"
