Chapter 1619: Much more intense

Lin Fan didn’t have time to think about or care if they were actually needles or not since they looked like they were coming right at him.

He had already felt the power that came from a single needle hitting him and with how many there were, it didn’t seem like this was something that he could block that easily.

Though Lin Fan didn’t panic since it wasn’t as if he didn’t have options.

"Even if I can’t block them, it isn’t as if I can’t absorb them."

There was the Clear Water barrier that was deployed along with his other abilities. He was putting them right in the path of the water needles so that they wouldn’t be able to avoid them if they were to come at him.

"Phew..."

Seeing the needles that were stuck in the Clear Water barrier in front of him, Lin Fan couldn’t help letting out a sigh of relief.

With the way that the needles pierced through his defenses and only stopped when it reached this Clear Water barrier, he knew that it really had been close. As well, it wasn’t the Clear Water barrier alone that had stopped the water needle.

The abilities that he layered in front of the Clear Water barrier certainly was useful in helping slow down the needles and weaken them, but the momentum that they still had when they reached the Clear Water barrier was still quite powerful.

If it wasn’t for the suction force that had been placed behind the Clear Water barrier that took most of the power away, it really would have been dangerous for him.

But since the suction force was there, Lin Fan was able to start absorbing the power that was contained within the water needles.

Once the power had been drained from those water needles, naturally they no longer had the ability to keep going forward and were stopped. Though it really did come close to breaking through the Clear Water barrier and reaching Lin Fan.

If he hadn’t been running the suction power at full force, it really would have been bad for him.

Still, he could tell that there was a lot of power contained within the water needles.

That was because the moment that the suction force started absorbing the water needles, he could feel his own power starting to recover.

"It really is completely different compared to before."

But in the end, he didn’t have time to think too much about this since Lin Fan didn’t believe that things would end this simply. If it was just these water needles alone, then it would have been just too simple.

Which was why he suddenly released his powers in all the directions around him.

It was only when it was like this that it would feel like a proper step up from the trial that he faced previously.

Lin Fan’s decision was correct in the end as there were water needles that came from those different directions as well. If he hadn’t put up the defenses ahead of time, then he would have been pierced since the Clear Water barrier wasn’t enough to stop these water needles.

It really was much more intense compared to before with how the water needles came at him.

The trial before was only an array that was set up to slowly harm them while misleading the ones taking the trial. Even if they had been injured, the arrays had some kind of mechanism that would have kicked them out.

So it seemed like the Dao Sect really wasn’t planning on killing anyone that entered the first part of this place.

The trials that came after the rest area were completely different.

There was killing intent behind each one of the needles that had been shot at him.

It was as if those that weren’t qualified would be eliminated from life itself with how dangerous this place was.

Though it wasn’t as if Lin Fan couldn’t understand why they would do something like this.

When it came to the high level cultivators, they needed to experience something like this for their growth. Only when they struggled would they be able to break through their own limits.

That was what this place had been designed for.

As time passed, Lin Fan found that it wasn’t as hard to deal with the water needles that were coming at him. It even reached a point where he was relaxed enough to try and search for the source of the water needles.

After all, it didn’t seem like they were about to come to an end with the way that things were going. It really seemed like there was an endless amount of these water needles that would keep coming at him.

So the only thing that Lin Fan could do was try and find the source of the water needles to stop it from there.

As he looked closely, he could tell that there was something off about the space around him.

"There are these strange rifts that are appearing from time to time?"

That was the best way that he could describe what he was seeing, but Lin Fan had already figured out what it was that was causing this. In fact, it was actually quite the obvious thing that he didn’t even need to really think about it to figure this out.

It was something that had been used for most of the trials that came before this, so it was only normal that it would be used here.

It was just that he was wondering where it was coming from.

"Is it coming from inside of the array or is it coming from outside?"

This was a big problem since it was easier to deal with if it was coming from inside of the array. If it was coming from the outside, then he would have to find a way to reach it before dealing with it.

The funny thing was that this rift actually made it easier for him to go against the array that was around him. After all, it made it clear which way he had to go to reach the thing that he was looking for.

When Lin Fan reached the edge of the array, he found that it was indeed inside of the array which made him let out a sigh of relief.

It really was hard for him to deal with this thing if it was on the outside.

Though as he came closer, it wasn’t as if it was easier to deal with. The closer that he was to this thing, the stronger the force behind each of the needles.

If it wasn’t for the fact that Lin Fan’s own abilities were stronger because of the water needles that he had already absorbed, then it wouldn’t have been as easy for him to reach this point.

"They seem to be stars." When he narrowed his eyes to look more closely at the things that were shooting out the water needles, he found that they looked like stars that were also made of water.

The water for the water needles came from the points of the stars and condensed together to form the needles.

Since he found it, Lin Fan didn’t waste any time chasing after those stars.

It was just that the moment that he did this, the stars started to run away from him.

It seemed like the stars had some awareness to run away. Or at the very least, there was a command left behind with the water stars that told them to run away from anything that approached them.

While they were running, the stars kept shooting the water needles at him.

Only these water needles were far easier for him to deal with.

The water needles from before were precise and powerful, the complete opposite of the current water needles.

"They need time to concentrate the power inside of the water needles. If they don’t have the time, it just doesn’t have the same effect as before." Lin Fan noted as he carefully watched the water stars form the water needles.

With the level that the current water needles were at, the previous Lin Fan wouldn’t have had a problem dealing with them. So there was no need to mention the current Lin Fan who was already stronger than he was when he first entered this area.

The Clear Water barrier and the suction force were enough for him to close the gap and stop all of the water needles that came at him. It didn’t matter how many they shot at him, he would stop them all.

In fact, it was actually easier for him if they shot more of these water needles.

The more water needles were shot at once, the weaker they would be compared to normal.

Once Lin Fan caught up to the first water star, he didn’t hesitate to reach his hand out towards it and use the suction force to bring it in. Even when it was being sucked in like this, the water star was still shooting the needles to stop him.

Only Lin Fan didn’t care as he absorbed the water star and all of the needles that it shot out.

When the water star had been absorbed, there was a second of hesitation that came from Lin Fan.

Then when he came back to his senses, he pointed his hand at one of the water stars that was still running and shooting needles at him.

When he did, there were water needles that came out of the Clear Water barrier as well.
