Chapter 59: The Danger of Concocting a High Tier Potion
Chapter 59: Chapter 59: The Danger of Concocting a High Tier Potion
’Be cautious. I must be cautious. I killed six Black Wizards with poison and made a fortune, and now my head is in the clouds!’
Andre put down his tools. After casting a Calm Mind Technique on himself, he resumed concocting the Potion.
Once the excitement was purged from his emotions, Andre’s hands steadied, and his pace quickened.
’The Profound Fruit needs to be juiced and purified, the Cloud Dew needs to be heated, and the Heart-breaking Flower needs to be ground...’
Andre entered a state of flow, continuously purifying, extracting, and processing the raw materials for the Blood Rage Potion into their required forms.
When he finally finished grinding all the ingredients, Andre wiped the sweat from his brow.
’Over ten hours have passed without me even realizing it. The three main ingredients still need to soak.’
A smile graced Andre’s face as he looked at the raw materials on the table, each glowing with a different light.
With the Eye of Truth, his success rate for concocting Potions was no lower than 70%. For Potions he was familiar with, that rate could even reach 98%.
The remaining 2% of failures were entirely due to the materials themselves.
’I’ll keep making Potions, sell them, go bargain hunting, and gather the materials to become an Official Wizard. My background means I can’t be like Seline, who has her Wizard Clan preparing everything for her!’
’All I have is myself and the help of my teachers.’
’Krell is still in another world for a meeting. And while Radak can offer me some help, I must walk an unprecedented path and forge a Tier One Ladder of Truth that has never existed before.’
’On this unknown path, the help others can offer me—even Radak—is extremely limited.’
Andre gazed at the dense array of test tubes before him, pondering the path that lay ahead.
The only ones who could help him on this path were Radak and Krell, but with Krell far off in another world, it was impossible to seek his guidance.
Radak had mastered all the knowledge within the Wizard Inheritance Hall, so seeking his counsel was, of course, an option.
Yet, the path he intended to walk was one of fusing the five great Elements: earth, Wind, water, fire, and Thunder.
No one had ever walked this path before—or if they had, none had succeeded.
In that case, even a walking library like Radak could offer him very little help.
At most, he could only offer some suggestions based on records in old tomes.
And such suggestions would be of little use to him.
’How can I fuse the five great Elements?’
After thinking for a while, Andre still couldn’t come up with a solution, so he had no choice but to continue making the Potion.
「The next day」
Andre was awakened by a pungent smell.
"COUGH, COUGH, COUGH. How can brewing a Potion create a spicy smell?"
Andre struggled to open his eyes, his gaze falling upon the three main ingredients, still soaking.
At that moment, the insides of the three test tubes were still bubbling vigorously.
Each time a bubble popped, the spicy smell in the room grew more intense.
Andre quickly opened the door, simultaneously activating his Eye of Truth to observe the Magic Power within the three main ingredients.
At the same time, he flipped through a book that detailed the key points to remember when making the Blood Rage Potion.
By reading the book, Andre pinpointed the source of the spicy smell.
It was part of the raw material processing, a step to vent excess Power.
When the Power of the three main ingredients collided, they produced an odor that stimulated the human body—the spicy smell.
Andre closed the book, took the three test tubes out of the Wizard Inheritance Hall, placed them on the steps, and waited quietly.
After about an hour, the bubbles in the three test tubes gradually disappeared, and the contents returned to their normal state.
’Now, the countdown begins.’
Andre picked up the test tubes and returned to his room. Putting on gloves and picking up tweezers, he placed the three main ingredients into a grinder one by one. He then crushed, juiced, extracted, and refined them, ultimately producing a single tube of a tri-colored mixed liquid.
And this was the initial form of the Blood Rage Potion.
The next step was simple: add the other ingredients to the test tube in the correct order.
At the same time, this simplest step was also the most dangerous one.
The slightest error in the amount of supplementary materials added to the tube could trigger an explosion.
For safety’s sake, Andre had memorized every step for creating the Blood Rage Potion.
"Potato, sit. Don’t touch."
Just as Andre was mentally reviewing the steps to create the Potion, Potato ran to his side, staring up at him with pleading eyes.
Andre quickly stopped Potato. Only when Potato lay down did Andre remember that he hadn’t fed him for two days.
At the same time, he realized he hadn’t eaten or had anything to drink in those two days either.
Now, thanks to Potato’s reminder, Andre suddenly felt a wave of dizziness.
A wave of retrospective fear washed over Andre as the dizziness set in.
If Potato hadn’t reminded him, his weakened physical state could have easily caused him to make a mistake while adding the supplementary ingredients, dooming this attempt to create the Potion.
"Here!" Andre took a deep breath. To ensure he could successfully create the Blood Rage Potion, he took out a piece of Honeycomb, broke it in half, and stuffed one piece into his mouth and the other into Potato’s.
After eating the Honeycomb, Potato happily scampered away from Andre’s side.
Andre watched Potato go with a smile, then rested his head on the table for a moment.
Once he had absorbed most of the Energy from the honeycomb, Andre began the next and final step.
He brought all the test tubes out of the room. Once outside, he stamped his right foot, channeling his Magic Power to raise an earthen platform from the ground.
Andre stuck the test tubes into the earthen platform. Following the steps recorded in the book, he added the supplementary ingredients to the Blood Rage Potion in sequence.
Every time he added a new supplementary ingredient, strange phenomena would manifest within the test tube containing the Blood Rage Potion.
When he added the first ingredient, the extracted juice of Blood-Burning Grass, the liquid in the test tube immediately began to boil.
But when he added the second ingredient, a powder made from Multi-Life Grass, the boiling liquid instantly fell silent, and a layer of frost even formed on the test tube’s surface.
Watching this constant stream of phenomena, Andre continuously wiped the cold sweat from his forehead as he painstakingly added the supplementary ingredients into the test tube.
After the final ingredient, the powdered leaves of Kun Body Grass, was added, the test tube trembled for a moment before falling still.
Then, Andre felt a large amount of Magic Power from the air condensing into the test tube. When the Magic Power stopped flowing, a faint, blood-red light appeared on the surface of the test tube.
Seeing the blood-red light, Andre collapsed onto the ground.
The appearance of this bloody glow signified that he had successfully created the Blood Rage Potion.
This is because Wizards called this bloody glow the Fury Light, the Light of Blood Rage.
