Chapter 555: Chapter 395: Star Creation Experiment Phase 1 Begins

No Tier Six Wizards could be spared to come over on such short notice. Beings of that level have their own, equally important research; they aren’t so easily called upon.

However, a Star Creation experiment of this level didn’t require a Tier Six Demigod Mage to oversee things. Even if something unexpected were to happen, a Tier Five Grand Arcanist wouldn’t need to intervene. Isaac and Moens alone were more than enough to control the situation—it was just a mere, incomplete Star God fledgling, after all.

Of course, having a Tier Five present to keep things in check would be ideal.

However...

Isaac looked at the rather excited Avin up ahead and asked curiously, "Do you really need to be this excited?"

"Why shouldn’t I be?" After spending some time together, Avin had started to come to terms with things. In the eyes of others, certain matters were already established facts, impossible to deny. Besides, after actually getting to know him, he’d discovered that Isaac didn’t seem quite so mad. As a result, his fear of Isaac had gradually faded, and he could now hold a normal conversation with him.

"For an experiment of this Level, an Arcanist like me—not even Tier Three—would normally only be qualified for preliminary prep work. What right would I have to go and observe it in person? It would be totally worth it even if I died in there!" Avin said with a fanatical glint in his eye.

"..." Isaac was speechless. "So that’s all this is about? And here I thought you might find the inspiration to advance to Tier Three from this."

"..." Avin’s words caught in his throat, and his excitement deflated a little. He turned to look at Isaac with a helpless expression. "Advancing to Tier Three isn’t that easy. A Great Arcane Art... It would be very difficult for me to create one with my level of talent. Right now, I’m just focused on saving up enough contribution points to redeem a Great Arcane Art from the Truth Association."

As he spoke, Avin’s tone was filled with resignation. This was, in fact, the path to advancement for the vast majority of aspiring Grand Arcanists. How could creating a brand-new Great Arcane Art possibly be that easy?

Arcanists capable of such a feat were as rare as a phoenix feather. If not, his older sister, Cheryl, wouldn’t have been able to contribute so many resources back to the Solomon Clan before she had even advanced to Tier Three—she’d even established several Golem production lines for them.

It was worth noting that Golems, as mortal instruments of War, were strictly regulated. Not just anyone was qualified to have a hand in their production.

After putting this together, Isaac nodded thoughtfully. He considered it for a moment before saying to Avin, "In that case, why don’t you wait a little longer? I might have a way to solve your dilemma and enable you to create your own Great Arcane Art to advance to Tier Three."

"Hm?" But upon hearing this, Avin showed not a shred of joy. Instead, he stopped in his tracks and looked at Isaac warily. "You’re not thinking of having me use the power of an Outer God, are you? I’m telling you, that is absolutely out of the question!"

"..." Isaac was at a loss for words. "After all this time we’ve spent together, do you still not know what kind of person I am?"

Avin fell silent. He thought for a moment, and though hesitant, he eventually nodded. Lowering the psychological guard that wasn’t very strong to begin with, he asked curiously, "What is this method you’re talking about?"

"You’ve heard of [Analysis], right?"

"Of course. Like a Knight’s [Boundless], it’s the legendary Authority most suited for Casters. The only problem is that there’s currently no known way to learn it. Only High-level Demonic Puppets have a chance of awakening it, but that can’t compare to having it as your own."

"Right. And do you know about Privilege Magic?"

"The prerequisite Magic for learning an Authority." After answering Isaac instinctively, Avin froze. He then asked in disbelief, "Don’t tell me you’ve created the Privilege Magic for [Analysis]?!"

"Oh, no, not that." Isaac’s answer was rather disappointing to Avin, but he immediately continued, "I am currently researching it, but for now, it’s only in the conceptual stage. The method I was referring to is something else."

Hearing Isaac’s words, Avin was first startled, then he looked at Isaac with a resigned expression. ’So you’ve basically just created a new, empty folder...’

’The gap is just too wide...’

"Do you know about Authority Crystals?"

Avin’s brow furrowed. Of course he knew what those were—treasures that could directly grant a corresponding Authority. However, up to this point, Authority Crystals could only be obtained by a Mad Witch through deals with Outer Gods. Hearing Isaac’s question, he instinctively assumed that was what Isaac was suggesting he use.

But on second thought, if that were the case, there would have been no need to bring it up with him. He asked, a hint of doubt and surprise in his voice, "Don’t tell me you’re researching how to create Authority Crystals?"

"That’s right." Isaac nodded, then added, "But unlike [Analysis], I already have some solid leads for this line of research. I don’t know if it will work out, I’ll have to test it first. So, if you trust me, you can wait a while. I have a way for you to obtain the [Analysis] Authority."

Upon hearing this, a flash of joy crossed Avin’s face, but it was quickly replaced by a complex expression as he looked at Isaac. "Something so precious... are you sure it’s alright to give it to me?"

Isaac just waved his hand dismissively, unconcerned. "It’s just an Authority Crystal. Once my research is successful, they’ll be a renewable resource. What’s so precious about that? Besides, an Authority gained from a crystal can’t be upgraded by yourself."

"Huh? Is that true?" Avin was genuinely surprised now, because that was different from what he understood. "In that case, your [Analysis] Authority..."

"My case is special. I received my initial [Analysis] Authority directly from an Outer God, not from a traded Authority Crystal, so it was able to grow. Of course, lacking the proper method for learning, its growth was somewhat slow and couldn’t keep up with my progress. That’s why, a while back, I sought out an Evil God and got a Tier Six [Analysis] Authority Crystal from it. So, yes, my [Analysis] Authority can no longer grow on its own now either."

Avin: "..."

Avin stopped in front of the iceberg that housed the World Gate. His brain felt like it had just crashed. ’There was so much information in those few sentences...’

’Weren’t deals made by a Mad Witch supposed to be incredibly dangerous?’

’So how, coming from him, did it sound as simple as going home for a meal?’

"Hm? What’s wrong? Open the gate," Isaac said, looking at the dumbfounded Avin standing before the iceberg, a little surprised himself.

"Oh, right." Avin snapped out of it. A glow of Arcane Art flashed from his hand, and he began to open the iceberg, his mind still reeling from what he had just heard.

With a deep RUMBLE, the iceberg slowly parted, revealing a towering World Gate before Isaac.

’Tsk, tsk.’ Every time he saw these grand displays, Isaac never felt the slightest bit of awe. Instead, he just felt the urge to ridicule it. ’That Moens, always doing things in the most pointlessly roundabout way.’

Never mind the Truth Association behind them; Moens alone was enough to intimidate the four great powers of Brurel. This was especially true after the advent of the Temporary Divine Kingdom Magic.

Knights already struggled to defeat Casters of the same tier. Now, within this Little World, the Casters also possessed an Undying Body. If a Caster died, they would only lose a Saint’s Avatar that had been condensed with a vast amount of Magic Power. But if a Knight died, they were well and truly dead!

It was an incredibly thorny problem, which was why, outside of a battlefield, very few were willing to confront a Caster.

This was especially true for someone like Moens, who preferred to hole up in a corner and run experiments. At most, Tier Five powerhouses from other worlds might spare a sliver of their attention to this place, just to prevent these Casters from letting an experiment get out of control and blow up the Little World.

Such things had happened before. Forget a Little World—a certain Wizard had once messed around and blown up an entire layer of the Endless Abyss!

But it was only a sliver of attention. They wouldn’t monitor the place too closely, partly to avoid suspicion and keep the Arcanists from thinking they were stealing data, and partly because...

...even if someone were to steal experimental data, it wouldn’t be the job of Knights like them.

It was no exaggeration to say that if you placed Moens’s experimental data right in front of them, they would have trouble even copying it down, let alone understanding it.

So Moens’s overly cautious attitude was completely unnecessary.
