World Evolution: Starting With The Wind Monarch
Chapter 120: Queen Eleanor (Part 1)
As the forest he had seen previously disappeared, a bustling city filled with people came before Evan’s eyes.
"This..." Evan was stunned for a moment before immediately realizing that everything he had seen before was an illusion.
’There must be a formation that covers this entire mountain...’ He recalled the feeling of passing through a barrier earlier and took a deep breath.
Although the forest disappeared and was instead replaced by a city, it didn’t mean all the trees that he had seen before vanished.
In fact, Evergreen City was very different from any city he had seen until now.
The entire city was filled with towering trees that were hundreds of meters high. More importantly, these were not normal trees but were actually the buildings and homes in which people lived.
At the bottom of every tree, Evan could see an entrance that acted as a door for going in and out.
But despite seeing such a scene, what caught Evan’s attention the most was a towering tree that was situated in the center of the city.
The tree was so big that even with his current eyesight, he couldn’t see its end as it disappeared into the sky.
"Elves are inherently close to nature, and living close to nature allows us to keep a serene state of mind, increasing our Affinity towards Mana to some degree," As Evan was looking around, he heard Alice’s voice from beside him.
"Your Mana Affinity increases just because you guys live in trees?" Evan was taken aback and looked at them with a stunned expression.
Alice smiled slightly and shook her head.
"It’s not a permanent increase. It’s more like a buff..." Alice paused and added after a moment. "You can think of it as an exclusive trait of us elves. As long as we are close to nature, all of our abilities will receive a certain amount of boost."
"I see..." Evan nodded, and as Nero flew forward, he noticed other things as well.
There were many elves inside the city. Most of the elves were High Elves like Alice and the others, but Evan also saw some Ice Elves, Dark Elves, and even some elves that had wings on their backs.
When he asked Alice about them, she told him that they were Wing Elves. Looking at their white wings and almost perfect faces, Evan couldn’t help but think they were angels he had seen in some books.
Another thing that caught his attention was the density of Mana inside the city.
The density of mana on Planet Elvador was already far higher because it was a Rank Three planet.
But inside the city, the Mana density was on a completely different level.
Evan felt that if he used his skills and ran out of Mana, he would recover all of his energy very quickly here because of the high density of Mana.
As Nero continued to fly forward, Evan noticed they were actually going straight towards the giant tree that was in the center of the city.
"What kind of tree is that?" He couldn’t help but ask when he saw where they were going.
Alice turned her gaze towards the giant tree and spoke in a soft voice.
"This tree was planted here by the first Queen of the High Elves thousands of years ago. She also used one of her skills to accelerate its growth. But the reason it was able to reach such a height is because it has withstood all three evolutions of Planet Elvador..." Alice sighed and shook her head.
"When a planet evolves, it goes through huge changes. Although not everything will be destroyed during planetary evolution, many trees, plants, mountains, rivers, and even weaker creatures will die because of the sudden change. But this tree withstood all three evolutions and reached its current level."
Evan listened to Alice quietly and felt shocked inwardly. He once again looked at the tall tree and couldn’t help but gulp.
’A tree that is thousands of years old. Then doesn’t it mean it’s very likely that it has already developed a consciousness of its own and might actually be a very powerful plant-type creature...’
When they were about three kilometers away from the giant tree, Nero landed on top of a wooden platform.
Alice and the others jumped down from its back, and Liam couldn’t help but stretch.
"I can finally sleep on a soft bed. I really don’t like traveling outside for days..." He said and stretched his body.
Nobody paid attention to his mumbling and completely ignored him.
After everyone came down, Alice patted Nero’s head.
"Nero, you can go and rest now. I will visit you later."
Shrik!
Nero shrieked and nodded, but before flying away, it looked at Evan and came closer to him, nudging its head against his chest.
Evan patted its head and said, "Thank you for the ride, Nero. You are the best."
Nero looked delighted upon hearing Evan’s words and finally flapped its wings, flying away from there.
"Tch! This guy really fell for a human who is known for their wicked nature." Erza clicked her tongue and spoke in a sour voice when Nero flew away without even giving her a glance.
Everyone was already used to her rambling, so no one cared about her words.
"Let’s go," Alice said once Nero left and led them towards the giant tree.
As they moved, Evan saw many elven guards patrolling around the surrounding area of the giant tree.
When these guard elves saw Alice and the others, they did not stop them and continued to do their work.
However, noticing Evan among them, their expressions were a bit weird, as it was very unusual for a human to come here.
Although they gave him weird looks, none of the guards came to trouble him or ask anything.
Evan also felt relieved when none of the guards came to trouble him and continued to follow Alice and the others.
As they got closer to the giant tree, Evan noticed the number of guards was increasing. Most of the guards were High Elves, but occasionally, there were other elves such as Dark Elves, Ice Elves, and even Wing Elves as well.
Most of them were unranked or Rank One Evolvers, with some of them being Rank Two. But sometimes, as a team of guards passed by, Evan would even notice a Rank Three Evolver among them.
It was the first time he was seeing so many Evolvers with such a high level in the same place.
On Planet Zarth, other than his grandparents, whose levels he did not know, the highest-level person he had seen was Max, who was the Commander of the Rivo City guard office.
But since coming here, he had already seen many Rank Three Evolvers, who were at the same level as Max.
’So this is the difference between a planet that has been evolving for only two hundred years and a planet that has been evolving for thousands of years.’
Soon, Alice and the others arrived at the bottom of the giant tree, where a door-shaped entrance was present to enter the tree.
Two High Elf guards wearing golden armor were standing at the entrance, their auras far stronger than those of the guards Evan had seen earlier.
Seeing them, Evan couldn’t help but suck in a breath of cold air, as he was sure that they were Rank Four Evolvers.
’Just what kind of treasure is hidden inside this tree that there are so many guards, and even Rank Four ones are standing here...’ Evan couldn’t help but think to himself.
Seeing Alice coming, the guards just gave her a brief look before stepping aside to let her pass.
If it were someone else, they would have to go through a strict inspection before they were allowed to enter.
But since it was Alice, the daughter of the strongest person on the planet, she had her own privileges.
But as the gaze of the guards fell upon Evan, they frowned slightly and were about to ask who he was. But before they could ask, Alice responded.
"I have already talked to Mother. She is the one who wants to see him."
Hearing Alice’s words, the question that the guards were about to ask got stuck in their throats, and they simply nodded, not asking anything else.
Evan breathed a sigh of relief when these Rank Four Evolvers stopped looking at him. Although they did not do anything, these guys were releasing their auras without any care in the world.
Even though the aura wasn’t targeted at him, his little heart still felt a lot of pressure.
Soon, Alice brought them inside the tree and continued to move forward.
"When did you inform your mother about Evan?" Erza couldn’t help but ask curiously.
"I did not tell her anything. I was just bluffing," Alice said in a flat voice. "The things about how Evan appeared here and the problem with the Entrance Authority Token are very serious. The fewer people who know about it, the better."
